A large percentage of us cannot control our anger when confrontation such as road rage & other disputes unexpectedly present themselves, if a gun is within reach the consequences can be extreme.

Now all states in America will essentially have the same rules as the most lenient states. It's a slippery slope when you trample on states' rights like that

A country that never learns, and in fact insists on devolving mentally.

NRA = 1. Victims= 0.

just a question, if you kill some folks in another state, and come back to your state, can you say in your state that it was self defense? Just wondering...

My God, what on Earth stats are we talking about?

Nothing wrong with the country except too many liberals that want to ditch the 2nd amendment. That’s the real problem.

I largely fall on the side of states rights. Whether carrying a concealed firearm is included in the national bill of rights is something I'd need to think about.

I'd be inclined towards states rights, since conceal carry is not specifically listed in the US Constitution. I can understand where people who travel a bunch for work would prefer a single, federal, standard to follow across all states. I would fear that the feds would create a single database of gun owners, which will be abused.

BTW, at a technology meeting I attend weekly at a local pizzaria, 2 of the members usually bring their handguns, concealed. A few police also frequent this restaurant. Everyone gets along fine. I've known these guys for 5+ yrs. Personally, I don't feel the need for a concealed permit and I'm happy to have my firearms locked in the trunk only when going to the range or on a hunting trip.

So far this year, 14,412 people have died and 29,277 have been injured in firearm-related incidents in the United States,

Now is not the time etc

"We know that citizens who carry a concealed firearm are not only better prepared to act in their own self-defense, but also in the defense of others," said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, a Republican.

There's no single problem that can't be solved by a gun, eh?
