and Japan just 1%..................

Japan, the worlds 3rd largest economy, who is ranked 124th when it comes to equal opportunity between men and women, and basic human rights has only administered shots to Dr's, and Lawmakers. The general population has been left behind in the Vaccination process, as the Japanese government struggles to figure out how to administer the vaccine. Japan refuses to cancel the Olympics, and is allowing every variant of COVID19 from around the world. Due to Japans lack of forward thinking and refusing to mobe from the 1990's, Japan is doomed.

The US has export restrictions on some of the procurers India needs to make vaccines. India is begging the Biden administration to relac the export restrictions. Yesterday, the desperate plea was turned down by the Biden administration and the Biden administration said it is more important for the world to vaccnante American than other people. America is back.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

And how many in Japan? ahahahahhah lol.....

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Take the total number of vaccinations with Big Pharma concoctions, divide by 2, add the number of people who have recovered from the virus and you have the approximate number of people immune to the disease.

Say what? India has only approved Sputnik V and home made vaccines. The government there has the power to say "no" to Big Pharma's dud vaccines and their mafia backers.

If I were advising the Indian government, I'd tell it to approve the Chinese vaccines as well as Sputnik V. Like the Big Pharma vaccines, problems with efficacy of the Chinese vaccines but the latter are safe. Big Pharma vaccines have low efficacy and are dangerous.

‘Concoctions’? Another conspiracy theory piece if rubbish per chance? Nice way of wording it.

0 ( +6 / -6 )

One billion of doses that demonstrate again that vaccines are our best weapon against viral infectious diseases, and that talk about a huge multinational effort that developed and produced them so opportunely, unfortunately political complications have made the distribution unnecessarily problematic, but with an extra effort it is still possible some normalcy will come back towards the end of the year.

Because there are concerns about the efficacy, period of time they offer protection and safety of the Big Pharma vaccines. According to Pfizer itself, the first 1% of recipients of it's vaccine are about due to get a third shot. At least those who didn't die after taking it, including those who didn't die of Covid after being fully vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine.

People can either choose to wear masks and use vaccines to reduce the number of deaths and shorten the lockdown, or they can choose to not wear masks or get vaccinated which will extend the deaths and lockdowns.

Not rocket science.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

$$$. Reported a couple of days ago that the bonuses paid to Big Pharma shareholders is enough to vaccinate 1.2billion third world people. That is just now.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

1 billion doses, yet cases are rising in some countries, people still have to wear masks, social distance and have their freedoms restricted. What a scam!

Go Colombia!

I love Japan. I have lived here almost 30 years, well more than half of my life. I have no desire to go back to my home country, or any other country. In all likelihood, I will die here in Japan. And because of the ineptitude of the Japanese government, it looks like it will be due to COVID-19. Show me the VACCINE!

I used to want grandchildren. No more. I don't want any child to suffer through having to wear masks or being shamed for not doing so. I don't want any child to live under a government that would rather put a two-week sports event over the health of their citizens. I'll suffer through it, but I hope no one else has to.

@Paul: Anyone who uses the phrase 'Big Pharma' in this context obviously is anti-vax/anti-elite/anti establishment. Where is your proof that these vaccines are 'dangerous'? The tiny, tiny risks with Astrazeneca and J&J are well documented . You've got more chance of walking outside your apartment and being knocked over by a taxi.....and killed. The Chinese have admitted that their vaccines have a low efficacy rate yet are of the same family of vaccines as the two I have mentioned.

As for Moderna and Pfizer and their MRNA model - the efficacy rates appear to be excellent. If we need a booster later then so be it. You clearly don't want life to return to normal anytime soon.

I'm with @Bill Lewis - This has to end. I accept we have to wear masks for the foreseeable future, but for that to end we have to get reliable vaccines into arms sooner rather than later.

Your idea of 'dangerous' vaccines are clearly working in countries which have a high percentage rollout. Shops and Restaurants are opening back up, Sports events with spectators are recommencing. Scientists in the UK have said that COVID has become a manageable endemic disease.

I think your sales pitch for Sputnik V relies too heavily on the ‘Big Pharma’ narrative. It has a conspiracy theory tinge. This puts quite a few people off.

I’d go more for we need as many arrows in our quiver as possible given the seriousness of the situation.

Just my penny’s worth. I have limited experience in sales but I was okay at it.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

I'll take the sputnik v if you throw Ina trip to the new Russian space station. At $19.95 it's a bargain.

"More than half of the UK’s total population has received a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine, figures show.

Government data up to April 23 shows that of the 45,580,400 jabs given in the UK so far, 33,508,590 were first doses – a rise of 119,953 on the previous day.

The UK population is estimated to be 66,796,807, so the latest figures show that more than half the population have now had a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine."

There are many things wrong with the UK nowadays but they seem to be getting on well with the vaccination programme, certainly far better than Japan..

Somehow , mysteriously , this article published in Japanese press omits Japan's ranking.

Ranking per population as of today ( CNN )

....Rwanda

Zimbabwe

Senegal

N. Macedonia

Japan

No comment necessary.

Somehow mysteriously you use the word "Mysteriously" when you know fully well it was deliberately

left out due to self restraint, the mission of any press is to dig and convey the truth even

if it is bitter and embarrassing, in some countries portraying a good image of the country both in and

abroad is the main mission of the press and in some it comes from heavy censorship from the ruling

government while in some it is self restraint and not out of any pressure from the government.

I’m pretty stupid and I drink beer early in the morning. so can y’all help me with this math. World’s 3 largest economy + world’s largest city + world’s largest international sporting event + pandemic + 1% population inoculation = equals what?

6 ( +7 / -1 )

First off, let's remember that statistics about population put out by the Israeli regime have the same basic flaw as statistics about population put out by the White State in South Africa, they omit a significant amount of the actual population because the regime doesn't want to admit that the ruling ethnic group is a minority of the population.

Secondly, the statistics for what the regime claims to be the entire population (though it's only half of the legal population) are so high because, as a regime dedicated to the oppression of so many, it maintains tight surveillance of everyone, and they offered to give the pharmacartel complete access to a database, that would have seemed excessive to the Stasi, on everyone who had any sort of reaction to, or experienced a failure of the vaccine.

This while, of course, going to some lengths to restrict the ability of a lot of its full population to get access to any vaccines, PPE, medicines, water, or adequate food.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

95% efficacy does NOT mean that 5% of those who take a vaccine will be unprotected.

That’s a common misunderstanding that is totally and absolutely wrong.

"If I were advising the Indian government, I'd tell it to approve the Chinese vaccines as well as Sputnik V. "

Not that I claim to speak for the all 1.3 billion Indians, but many are already suffering due to a virus that originated in China. They don't want anything else originating in China inside them.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

I can T believe that the Japanese cabinet still dares to show their faces. They have gone from scandal to scandal, mismanagement to mismanagement. The health service is a joke, the vaccination program an embarrassment. I am paying 256000 a month for my health and program government plan, for me and my wife. Yet I will not get any treatment if I get sick, as hospitals refuse patients , dentists always find an excuse not to accept our health card ( I have the “ receipts “ to prove it, )and as I will not stop working till I drop, I won’t benefit from a pension either.

But the vaccination campaign in particular is a global disgrace. I don’t think us foreigners below 65 will be vaccinated before, at best, mid 2022. The vaccines are stored by the millions but administered at a snails pace.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Coming from the person who posts any old rubbish under the pretense of ‘facts’.

For example?

Not that I claim to speak for the all 1.3 billion Indians, but many are already suffering due to a virus that originated in China.

It may have originated in China. It was first identified in China but it's now a known fact it was in Western Europe in the fall of 2019. I also read there was an unusual number pneumonia deaths in Japan in the fall of 2019. Also circumstantial evidence was in South America in the fall of 2019.

equals what

Equals a government and society cautious of buying expensive and poor quality Big Pharma concoctions and putting in their bodies.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Where you get your pricing for Sputnik V? It is $5-10 and doesn’t need the extra $200 storage and transportation costs related to the American vaccines.

@ goodlucktoyou

It was a joke. A vaccine for a sense of humour is required for you.

As of 6 a.m. EDT April 23, a total of 91,175,995 Americans had been fully vaccinated, or 27.5 percent of the country's population, according to the CDC's data.

Well, that export restrictions primarily impacts the vaccine for US maker Novavax, who do you think will feel that impact..

https://www.businesstoday.in/current/economy-politics/us-firm-novavax-partners-with-serum-offers-1-1-bn-covid-19-vaccine-to-covax/story/431714.html

Now this will force Modi to go 100% self reliant, and given the 60% worldwide vaccine manufacturing capability will not take much time. In the meanwhile the russian Sputnik will fill-in the additional supply. Now how do you think the Indian-Russia vs Indian-US relationship will play out..India, Russia, China are all exporting vaccines while the US under Biden is seen as restricting the supply of vaccine raw materials.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

"Now this will force Modi to go 100% self reliant, and given the 60% worldwide vaccine manufacturing capability will not take much time."

I thought Modi gave the clarion call of self reliance last year so what stopped him from becoming self reliant in the last one year? Even your local vaccine Covaxin uses imported ingredients. Maybe you do not have any understanding of what is required for vaccine production just like your idiotic PM Modi, so please go through the below -

https://indianexpress.com/article/explained/us-embargo-raw-materials-covishield-covovax-production-covid-19-vaccine-7280711/

Can’t Indian vaccine makers import from other countries?

Finding alternatives is difficult.

In the meantime the body count in India will increase and die hard bhakts will slowly start turning against him. It has started happening already.

This blind hatred is simply amazing.. there numbers are though going down.. as is happening in India..next in-line would the haters outside..keep on distorting facts and yes, keep on hating.

India is running out of hospital beds, industrial oxygen and crematoriums. It seems Modi hates Indians since he is responsible for so much of blood on his hands but at least he found a way to cure India's burgeoning overpopulation.

No, it is not a known fact, because the evidence is extremely limited, circumstantial and contradicted by epidemiological data. It is not believable that the disease was present causing only a small cluster of symptomatic/complicated cases (or none) just to disappear for months and then appear again. It is specially telling that the findings can be explained by cross-reactivity of antibodies with other human coronavirus, something that is already well described. This alternative explanation, together with the lack of replication of the results is what makes the reports likely to be misinterpretation of the evidence (and why they could only be published in relatively minor journals). At this point the only well sustained explanation that don't depend on unproven speculation is that it originated in China.
