In the short recording carried by the Al-Jazeera Arabic news channel, bin Laden addressed President Barack Obama saying the attack was a message similar to that of Sept 11 and more attacks against the U.S. would be forthcoming.

Must be quite a shock to all of Obama's slavering devotees: OBL still hates modernity, the idea of America, and secular democracies, even the ones that elect for their national leader a man, son of a devout Muslim, with an Arabic name and at one time in his youth Muslim schooling.

OBL doesn't give a rat's ass about the Palestinians. He just knows that any mention of their name will attach some sympathy to his jihad, even if there is no link.

I actually believe Bin Laden is dead and September 11 was his last act. The fact he hasnt been captured let alone seen is surprising and these audio tracks could come from anyone.

Obama, a Democratic president, must now deal with Bin Laden- knowing full well that the last Democrat President failed so miserably to do so resulting in the attacks on New York's Twin Towers. It has been reported that Obama has been seeking council from Bill Clinton on how to handle the current economic and political mess the Obama administration has found itself in. I wonder if Barrack Hussein will ask Clinton for advice on these new revelations... god help us all if he does.

Clinton was not only asleep at the wheel, but it is common knowledge that he was aware of the danger this group provided, but he did little to nothing to stifle its threats. Al Qaeda was busy during the Clinton Administration; the group took responsibility for the attack on the World Trade Center in 1993, the bombing of the U.S.S. Cole, the attacks on two U.S. military barracks in Saudi Arabia, the bombing of two U.S. Embassies in Africa, and the attacks on United States soldiers in Somalia. Throughout these attacks, Clinton did nothing to protect America or the American citizens; in fact he sabotaged America's ability to protect itself. Clinton incapacitated America by weakening the counter-terror organizations, overusing diplomacy, and simply ignoring the problem of international terrorism.

Now the problem has come full circle- and it is an absolute joke that Obama would seek Clinton's council on anything- yet alone Oasama Bin Laden !

Not only was Bill Clinton active in fighting Al-Quaeda, the republicans took his every threat as a fairy tale dream. Then george bush came into office with the same mentality and we're attacked. Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula originally took credit for the attack, but by issuing this message, bin Laden seems to be indicating that he himself is ordering attacks, rather than just putting his seal of approval on events afterward.

Or he is lying. I believe he is lying. I don't think he ordered the attack. I think Al-Qaida is weak as a top down organization. I don't believe, as an organization, they have a central authority that is able to convey all of its wishes to the many branches of Al-Qaida. I believe Osama is excellent at recruitment but poor at controlling the many factions. Many of us have known recruiters who can bullshit but do little else then send poor unsuspecting souls to war. I believe the various factions of Al-Qaida mostly act independently. I don't think OBL had a clue of the Christmas Day attempt. But one thing is clear; either he did not know and he is lying or he knew and Al-Qaida can't even make a worthy bomb when they get so fortunate as to get someone aboard a plane. Al-Qaida is very good at improvised bombs; wouldn't it stand to reason that this would be of the highest priority for success?

OBL just wants the glory for this. He is insignificant if he can't be personally involved in acts of terror. He is stuck in the mountains holed up in some cave with all his major lines of communication cut. He has to resort to messenger service to accomplish anything.

I don't understand your statement. Every time you go to the airport to fly you have to remove your shoes, no liquids over 4 ounces and the list goes on. The cost of doing this, cost of Air Marshalls and all the terrorist procedures in effect. The cost has been enormous to companies and government.

Every time they do something, they learn more. It's no different then a research lab. Next time they might actually get away with it and then a plane with passengers crashes. These will have been learning lessons for them. < :-)

There are many failings, including the refusal for more troops on the ground despite commanders and the CIA's demands, but that's one big, desolate border region you're talking about there, not some high security western airport border control.
