Trump is like a virus and as it spreads, it brings out the worst in some people, deep prejudices that have mostly been suppressed. I've read of incidents like this before since Trump came to power. There was one video on YouTube, maybe two years ago, I think, about a woman in a beauty salon being berated or yelled out by a another woman who worked there, in which she used strong racial language. I think it ended with her saying something like "President Trump said so," in reference to whatever her rant was about, to justify what she was saying.

white man told her 'Go back where you came from'
That man needs to be slapped upside the head.

Agreed.

First off, those of you writing here have no idea what a “Publix” is.
Publix was successfully sued, not once, but TWICE. It is safe to say no one would run up to prevent this in THAT store. You can all have your own visions now that you have a proper picture.

Trump's America

All you commentators talking about how this is because of Trump, and you don't even know if this is a TRUE story.
Pukey2
Everyone needs to go back to where they came from and leave the Native Americans in peace.

Trump is going to touch off a blaze he cannot control at some point - be it at home or on the world stage.
He truly unites us all in bringing the worst out in every single person. A truly hideous creature.

Except the original countries for the most part probably don't want them/can't take them (there are way too many of them), and what melting-pot effect there has been means that some people would have to divide themselves between two, three or more countries.

Maybe it happened -- and then again, maybe it didn't.
It wouldn't be America's first hoax by someone feigning racism, sexism, or homophobia.

Trump's America is one that has seen African-Americans' lowest-ever unemployment rate.
(Under Obama, in contrast, Americans of all races generally struggled economically -- and black Americans in particular.)
But no, I guess it's more logical to take one person's alleged comment and attribute that to the entirety of the country.
And I accentuate the word "alleged" on purpose.

Boy, the media once again trying real hard to stir the pot on this one. It’s bad, but it happens everyday and there isn’t a day that goes by where someone doesn’t utter that sentence and it will always continue, so it just baffles me that now the media is focusing on incidents like this all of a sudden.

And thank you President Trump for encouraging an ignoramus like this to demonstrate how stupid he truly is.

Everyone blaming Trump?
He certainly didn’t call anyone in the store names, did he?
Come on, I’ve seen black people stab white people on two occasions but I don’t blame Barack Obama!
Also, I don’t condemn any black persons that I see-there are good and bad.

Typical alt right response: deal with it. It's like the poster who wrote 'I'm not racist, but...'
PTownsend
As long as the alt right continues to increase racial tensions, the 'narrative' will continue. The alt right wants Trump to tear down US systems to allow white nationalism to rule.
mph-1212
And precisely what systems are you referring to PT? Reality check for you. The vast, and I do mean vast, majority of Trump supporters are NOT "alt right".

Damn the media for doing its job and reporting news! Damn it all to hell!
Yeah, it's baffling that the media would report on an ignorant, racist old white guy shouting at a female minority lawmaker the exact same thing Donny (another ignorant, racist old white guy) was just tweeting at four minority female lawmakers. A complete mystery, I tell ya. Man, I'm getting a headache trying to figure this one out.
Chip Star
Checks and balances. Free press, etc. Oh, that was taxing to figure out; I need a nap to let my intellect recover.
Good thing PTown didn't say all of Donny's supporters or he'd have needed that reality check.
dmacleod
Please identify the specific policies or legislation that Trump has enacted which has made this possible. Be specific. Also, some collaborating evidence from a reliable source would go a long way in supporting your statement.
Chip Star
And? You're not actually trying to say that historically low unemployment amongst African Americans demonstrates that Donny isn't normalizing repugnance and giving morons more courage to express their ignorance, are you? That fails every available test of logic.
(Never mind that Obama inherited the economy that Bush II ran into the abyss.)

Except “Native Americans” originally came to North America from Eurasia. At this point scientists believe all humans originated in Africa.
American culture has changed over time and the Constitutions emphasis on individual rights has always been able to support that. In recent decades and especially since the Obama administration the political Left has gone full on socialist - that is un-American and unsustainable under the US form of government. The Left by attempting to impose governance through identity has sparked a backlash. Until the Left unlearns decades of race based ideology you can expect the people in the out group to continue to place demands on the political system

This stupid line again. As an American, I feel it is one of the most ignorant things we could ever say. The average American does not come from America. Even the President that helped to make that line so relevant today is a second generation American.

Second, it's such a dark cloud that Northern European countries with socialism enjoy the highest quality of life and standards of living.
Wonder how much they enjoy the sky high taxes to pay for all their wonderful social programs.

New York Times ran a piece with Americans sharing their history of how they have been asked to ‘Go back where they came from’ with many of the incidents increasing after Donny came to power.
Institutionalizing racism, giving it legitimacy will be remembered as Donny ‘s contribution to America. The future generations will look back at this period like the way Germans look back at the 1930s and 40s.
