The cold-blooded brutality of America's police stems psychologically from fear. There are too many physical cowards in blue. Why do they always resort to deadly force when physical restraint would suffice? Why not shoot to wound and incapacitate instead of shooting to kill like police in more civilized societies? Fear of others, typical of rigid authoritarians, would seem to explain much of the bizarre, hair-trigger behavior of so many American policemen. America's fatal attraction to guns has much to answer for. And that's another swamp which needs to be drained by the Dems.

For those who say it’s Blake’s fault, how do you explain bullets 2 to 7? The reality is the officer shat his pants and was terrified for his life. Incompetence.

If you aren’t composed and can’t handle the situation or a gun, then don’t go into this line of work. One warning shot, then shoot to wound in the torso area. If your aim is so bad and require 7 bullets and at that distance, you’re terribly incompetent.

We treat wild animals way better. If this were a bear, we would go out of our way, circle the world 7 times, before we resort to killing it. The situation was too overwhelming for the incompetent officer.

The officers had unsuccessfully attempted to apprehend Blake.

If I were a police officer then I would not give a suspect the chance to pick up a knife and harm me after repeated warnings-it really is commonsense...

I agree, but I also have to say police need better training because two or three of them should have been able to easily take this jerk down I think 7 shots were a bit excessive but again, had this guy listened he would still be walking. It’s his fault that he’s in this new situation.

3 ( +9 / -6 )

They were BOTH wrong.

Blake shouldn't have ignored warnings and commands to stay put. He walked away, opened the car door, had his back toward the officers and reached in where his hands weren't visible.

The cops unnecessarily shot him seven times.

You literally contradicted yourself between the start of the first run on sentence and the second sentence. If the three officers should have been able to easily detain Blake, but didn’t, it was their fault he was able to walk around his car.

No, I didn’t. All in all it was his fault that he got shot. Period, but I do think the police went overboard on this and should have better training, but still, Blake is responsible for the situation he’s now in.

This means it was the officers fault

I don’t fault the officers, they didn’t know he was going for the knife, they couldn’t know they couldn’t see once he went in the car, but still, Blake made that decision to defy the cops, maybe now in the future he’ll listen when they ask him something.

I prefer to moving to Africa rather than living in the US if I were a general black man!

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Blake was a danger to the police officers and everyone around him.

There should be marches supporting the police for every day Blake caused trouble.

Why does the media choose to ignore Blake's mother who is asking for peace and unity? She is the most level-headed person to come out after all of this but the media would rather her cry for death to the police officers and criticize the president. She has been the complete opposite.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

You dont even know enough about the case to know that there were not three grown men involved.

Truth over facts.

We’ll have people here soon trying to claim that Blake’s criminal history is why he was shot.

Three grown men resorted to firearms to stop one person. Ridiculous.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

and yes, Blake had a knife in his possession that he refused to drop. It was announced yet again for the hard of hearing/those who dont want to hear.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

They really need to put out a public information notice. When the police, especially those with guns drawn say “turn around and put your hands behind your back.” They don’t mean..”Hey, lets wrestle!” Or “Run away” or “reach for a weapon” No... They actually mean TURN AROUND AND PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK!

You can argue about your previous civil rights and wrongs later... while still breathing.

The officers in this case were absolutely correct in shooting Mr Blake.

I don’t think most blacks would agree to that. You think Sharpton or LeBron or John Legend would leave the US for Africa?

The lawyers and the family are just trying to shape the narrative for the multimillion dollar lawsuit that is coming.

The political actors are shaping the narrative because they need the riots in the street, still strangely thinking those help Biden when they actually help Trump.

even CNN has said as much, these riots help Trump. Dems just lost control of their voters and now have no one who can get them to stop. These rioters are even occupying the housing of the Portland mayor now, totally out of control.

Watch CNN remove the word "violent" from the term "violent protests" in real time here. at :15 its violent, at :22 its suddenly not. oops!

Watch CNN

The only people here watching it seem to be Trump supporters who seem to enjoy getting triggered.

Do they have any polls you like today?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

watching CNN is like reading the user manual to operate the Dem political machine.

can see narratives as they are born, and watch them die. Its very useful to know what you are up against before it happens. no triggering at all, knowledge is power, especially advance knowledge of tomorrows narrative.

Blake was wanted for rape, and never even was a father to those kids - never even lived with them. He would come over beat up their mother a couple times a year after drinking, which is why he had to break in this time. He stuck his finger inside the kids' mother while he held her down, sniffed it, and said it smelled like she had been with other men. This is your "victim."

The police tried to stop him, they tasered him, and he kept going. A violent man with a knife getting into a car with 3 kids.... the potential for hurting those kids or taking them hostage was clearly there. They should have just let him, in his state, drive away with 3 children?

The cop did his job. Hope he gets off.

I see. Do they have any polls favorable to Trump you like today?

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

all the polls are favorable to Trump now, not just CNN. You should be really concerned when even the obvious hate Trump polls are giving him 42-45% nationally.

It al boils down to the extremely poor decision making of an irresponsible, violent and poorly behaved individual.

And yet there are those who intentionally support this behavior all based on a false and intentionally manufactured notion that he and other poorly behaved individuals are somehow 'victims'.

It's all about character people. Character.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Compare this to the Akihabara killer who just stabbed several people to death in broad daylight in a crowded public area. A single cop took down the killer bare handed as the killer was facing him with knife clearly in hand.

But here we have three donut bellies unable to subdue a single unarmed suspect who ALLEGEDLY committed some crimes days or weeks ago. They can't subdue him even using their less lethal weapons. Then one of the cops shoots the man in the back 7 times at point blank range while tugging on his shirt saying something about a knife he obviously could not even have a clear view of. The difference is so stark its totally absurd.

I don't care about Blake's history. He could have been a saint, and there are lots of stories available of American tin stars escalating and flubbing situations with virtual saints and murdering or maiming them in much the same way. That's the real problem. Its not that this is an isolated situation with one bad man. Its that its far from it.

P. Smith - It’s pure speculation that Blake was going for a knife. Even if he was, he would have been taking a knife to a gunfight. Best to shoot him in the back first, right?

Maybe you would prefer that Blake stab a police officer before officers respond with deadly force, or that drunken Blake should be allowed to drive away with his children in the vehicle? Blake was given multiple chances to stop resisting arrest. Blake made the decision to harass a women who was willing to call the police. Blake made the decision to repeatedly resist arrest. Blake made the decision to hide behind the children in the car.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

quercetum - For those who say it’s Blake’s fault, how do you explain bullets 2 to 7?

The reality is that Blake chose to harass a woman who was willing to call the police. Blake chose to repeatedly resist arrest. Blake told police that he had a knife. Blake was climbing into his vehicle while hiding his hands from the officer. The rules of engagement suggest that an officer, or an armed civilian, can fire as many shots as is required to end an immediate threat to that officer, civilian, or to the public in general.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Maybe you would prefer that Blake stab a police officer before officers respond with deadly force

With that attitude cops may as well just execute every driver at a traffic stop just to be on the safe side. Literally anybody could be going for a knife rather than reaching into their glove box for registration, or going for a gun rather than scratching an itch.

There were kids in that car. They could have been hit by bullets. Police were not hired to protect themselves after stepping in harm's way. They were paid to protect those kids.

Your attitude is popular in America and its why two cops could wound nine innocent bystanders with lead while trying to shoot one guy they were chasing who pulled a gun. The guy never fired his gun and every single person, the man with the gun and the 9 bystanders, were all hit with police bullets or fragments. This actually happened in New York in 2012. Three of the bystanders were hit with whole bullets. The man with the gun had ten bullets in him. A literal crackhead with a gun could have done better. But this is exactly what so many Americans advocate as they shill for the most incompetent police work in human history.

@Black

and yes, Blake had a knife in his possession that he refused to drop. It was announced yet again for the hard of hearing/those who dont want to hear.

Is that what the Kenosha Police Union is telling you? I wonder why they would say that? Hmmmmm

Fact check: Jacob Blake did not 'brandish' knife, get gun before Kenosha police shooting

@Commanteer

Blake was wanted for rape, and never even was a father to those kids - never even lived with them.

Yeah, that warrant and charge was vacated or cancelled. Why would they they vacate an assault charge if he committed the crime?

Nice job guys of lying and misleading people on JT!

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Imagine a police department using a knife in a car as justification to shoot someone 7 times in the back, but the same police department did not feel threatened when a thug who dropped out of high school with an illegal AR-15 transported across state lines was running TOWARDS them after killing two and wounding one.

LITERALLY.....it is the same police department. Make it make sense!

The initial police report says that he did. I’m going to believe their crime stats over Yahoo and other social media outlets.
