Just empty words to address the complaints at home. Israel and the US are both responsible for this genocide!

Just empty words to address the complaints at home. Israel and the US are both responsible for this genocide!

No, Hamas was the one that started this ball rolling in October 7. and what did Hamas think what would happen? Hamas brought this on themselves.

-4 ( +7 / -11 )

Not crazy about Netanyahu, but Israel believes it is in a fight for its life.

The enemy responsible for the heinous massacre of Israeli citizens on October 7th is deliberately hiding under crowded areas in Gaza, a war crime in and of itself. What should Israel do, ask politely for Hamas to come out of their tunnels with their hands up?

One thing's for sure, if I'm ever in or around Israel and the IDF demands that I leave a particular area which I happen to find myself in, well, I'm certainly not going to be hanging around for 2 weeks to see what happens. I'm going to be long gone.

Remember what the French used to do with terrorist-hijackers who were holding hostages on the French runways back in the 70s? They went in killed every last one of them regardless of how many of the hostages died in the process. Guess what? The terrorists stopped screwing around with the French when it came to hijackings, murder and hostage taking. Anyway, it kind of looks like Israel is sending the same message to Hamas and any other terrorist organization that's thinking of screwing around with them now or in the future. The message is clear and simple . . . Don't!

The French are being held hostage by Jihadist in their mist

Weak sauce words.

Israel should have been cut off from all aid three weeks ago. In the inter-rim it should have been threatened with war. Nothing else will change the behavior of the Israeli government, run by the terrorist group Likud.

Words will have no effect on Netanyahu, a man who stated in a leaked video from 2001 that "America is an easy thing to move in the "right" direction." AND, "The main thing is to first of all strike them, not once but several times so painfully that the price they pay is unbearable. So far the price has not been unbearable..."

Netanyahu has had mass murder on his agenda for a LONG time and he has no repect for the U.S. at all because....well....its proven its not worthy of respect as it constantly lies down for murderers like Netanyahu and Mohammed bin Salman, well, in fact, it even behavies LIKE THEM.

Blinken's words are weak because he supports mass murder, just like his masters.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

In the inter-rim it should have been threatened with war.

Are you volunteering to go fight the IDF? Israel has already said they are at war. Do you mean for another country to declare war on Israel?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken tone deaf call warning Israel that humanitarian conditions in Gaza must improve to have 'partners for peace' whilst Hamas terrorists hold Israeli hostages, men women children, pensioners under the threat of summary execution is truly remarkable.

Had the roles been reversed, 9/11 is a case/example, history has clearly shown rightly/wrongly US people would have accepted nothing less than a strong military action/response.

England Channel 4 news is reporting that the U.S. is flying drones over Gaza monitoring fighters movements and looking for the hostages and the tunnel they might be held at, it is reported that about 10 U.S. citizens are among hostages.

@Yrral

”The French are being held hostage by Jihadist in their mist”

But the hijackings stopped, didn’t they”

Blinken is a sympathetic character who does not seem at all comfortable with his unenviable role in this sordid business. It's becoming more obvious by the day that Netanyahu's Zionist project is to liquidate the Gaza Ghetto and annex it to "Greater Israel". He might hope that such an outcome would save his bacon, but in reality he probably won't survive the catastrophe he has brought down on the men, women and children of Gaza. Until then Biden will do his utmost to assist, like now he's requesting the right to sell arms secretly to the Israelis without Congressional oversight or public scrutiny, an undemocratic demand that has led to the resignation of a State Department official protesting the use of US weapons to massacre civilians.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, sent to Tel Aviv, Israeli, in essence with congress empty hand, holding a political poison chalice.

Joe Biden presidency, could be punctuated on a war in the middle east to match his first 100 days in office on the withdrawal of U.S. Forces in Afghanistan without any diplomatic means to bring about a methodology to/for a cessation/pause/ceasefire of some of the most brutal acts of hatred laced with a unrelenting wonton retributing Israeli invasion.

Israel is acting humane with its care for civilians, its providing of warnings to them to evacuate military targets that comply with international law, and its allowing their safe passage to secure areas.

Israel is defending itself, as it has the right to do under international law, at all costs, whatever it takes to get the job done and to clean up the mess left by this terrorist regime in Gaza.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

8,000 Gaza women and children killed so far and it ain't over. Imagine the numbers if Israel hadn't used "humane bombings".

Israel has the right to defend itself but not at all costs which are restricted by international laws and treaties.

It was Netanyahu who wanted Hamas in the Gaza Strip to replace the PLO. He even gave them $1 billion.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Blindly supporting a corrupt leader in Israel has put the United States in a pickle. This is not going well for Blinken and president hoping to get re-elected next year. Young voters will be Biden's undoing. The Democratic coalition of various types of liberals and moderates is a delicate relationship compared to the uniform support from the coalition of incompetent social conservatives, religious extremist, war mongers, election deniers, racists, cult followers, and con artists. The fractures in the Democratic coalition usually decide most national elections. Republicans always back their candidate regardless of mental or moral flaws.

News like this will continue to cause Biden to bleed young voters:

Israel admits airstrike on ambulance near hospital that witnesses say killed and wounded dozens

https://www.yahoo.com/news/israel-admits-airstrike-ambulance-witnesses-203802048.html

The US role and Biden's response will be amplified by continued protests, and countries like Russia, China, and Iran will continue to push it in the media and world stage. We know those countries want to replace Biden with Trump because his greed and stupidity. At the same time, Russia and China wants to build strong relationships with Majority muslim countries for access to various natural resources, continued joint projects, and buy/sell of military weaponry.

Russia backs Hamas terrorists, calls Israel 'occupying power' that 'does not' have right to self-defense

https://www.foxnews.com/world/russia-backs-hamas-terrorists-calls-israel-occupying-power-does-not-have-right-self-defense

Young people will only see that these 3 countries wants Biden to stop help Israel kill 10,000 Palestinians that were mostly women and children.

Republicans Introduce Bill To Expel Palestinians From The United States

https://www.yahoo.com/news/republicans-introduce-bill-expel-palestinians-202251943.html

Also, some of the extremist Jewish communities (Jewish Defense League) that does exist in the US and ties to Nantanyahu's corrupt government will vote Republican in hopes Trump or his sycophants will expel Palestinians or Muslims in general.

Good point! Global issues has been his only failures in office. Starting and ending his term with the deaths of lots of Muslim women and children will not go over well with the younger and more left-leaning liberals who associate with his party.

With some more liberal Democrats and POC thinking of skipping next election on principle against Biden, any shiny new youngish Republican nominee (if they replace Trump as the official candidate) will galvanize all Republicans to turn out and vote just to beat Biden and "own the Dems" because Biden beat Trump.

Biden can only win if Trump runs. If Trump does not run, some Democrats will not vote, and the Republicans will come out in force like usual. Young Deomcrats and POC are not feeling Biden.

Israel is defending itself, as it has the right to do under international law, at all costs, whatever it takes to get the job done and to clean up the mess left by this terrorist regime in Gaza.

And the Palestinians don't have the right to defend themselves? This did not start on Oct 7.

Also, the occupier cannot claim a right of defense against the occupied. Hamas had the right to fight against the occupying force.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Also, the occupier cannot claim a right of defense against the occupied. Hamas had the right to fight against the occupying force.

I agree with you that Hamas has the right of defense in Gaza, but so then does Israel within Israel proper, unless you think those ravers should have just allowed Hamas to butcher them.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Also, the occupier cannot claim a right of defense against the occupied. Hamas had the right to fight against the occupying force.

Israel is not occupying Gaza.

Israel even dug up its buried dead from Gaza and moved them into Israel in the early 2000s.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Are you volunteering to go fight the IDF? Israel has already said they are at war. Do you mean for another country to declare war on Israel?

I said "threaten". I meant "threaten".

Also there are other means of warfare besides "kill them all". Its disturbing that so many people have so much difficulty grasping that concept.

Clearly Israel has been at war with Gaza for 17 years or more. America could effect a blockade of Israel in much the same way. I am sure Israel's neighbors would be happy to play their role in it if given proper support. All Israel would have to do is sit there in poverty and hunger, just like they expect the people of Gaza to do.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

After the took most of Palestinian land withthe help of the UK and walled them off in an open air ghetto like the Germans did the Jews until Hitler decided on a final solution like Israel is doing now.

Israel is occupying the West Bank with settlers.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

I said "threaten". I meant "threaten".

So threaten, but without actually intending to go to war?

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Exactly!

Israel is not occupying Gaza.

But they are controlling Gaza, just like a prison guard controls inmates without actually occupying any prison cell.

And they are definitely occupying Palestinian land.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Israel is occupying the West Bank with settlers.

It's Israel's land. Of course they have settlers there.

Why wouldn't they? Israel rightfully owns that land, which had been illegally occupied by Jordan.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

unless you think those ravers should have just allowed Hamas to butcher them.

Hamas wanted to use the ravers as hostages, not kill them. According to Israeli witnesses, the ravers were mainly gunned down by Israeli forces who shot at Hamas without any regard to the civilians. BTW, they also shelled buildings occupied by Hamas and Israeli civilians.

NotThe One,

I think both US/UK have a large Pro Palestinian Electorate.

UK over Remembrance Day, will provide an insight to the breath and strength of that vote, a so called million-person march to call on Government and opposition to fully back endorse a ceasefire.

A number of the Government front bench have labelled the protest a march of hate.

Keir Starmer has given a timed address slamming Islamophobia, that could be a means to pacify his ever more critical labour opposition party for his lock step condemnation of Israel invasion with the Government.

US/UK will both face an crucial election in 2024/5…

This war could become pivotal to both elections results…..

No, according to international law, they are illegally occupying Palestinian land. Anything beyond the June 1967 borders is an illegal occupation.

It is not Israel's land, it's Palestinian land according to border agreements. If it was Iraeli land the Jews living there would be called settlers.

Yes, understandably so given what they have to deal with.

And they are definitely occupying Palestinian land.

You can’t own or occupy something that was never yours. Hamas will never get rid of Jews out of their homelands, will never happen.

Did the Israelis also throw the grenade into the crowded shelter where people were hiding? That's quite impressive saying that all the casualties were from Israeli soldiers but also Hamas are such good fighters that they had free run of the place and carried off 250 people.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

After Israel left Gaza they turned it into a concentration camp.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Hamas wanted to use the ravers as hostages, not kill them.

And you would have been ok with just kidnapping the ravers, and not killing them? Also, we have all seen the videos from that day.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

It is not Israel's land, it's Palestinian land according to border agreements.

Nope. It never was. It was even occupied by Jordan until 1967. And then Jordan joined the war against Israel, and Israel defeated and crushed Jordan, and so Israel was able to recover its stolen lands--which never ever were Palestinian Arab settled.

If it was Iraeli land the Jews living there would be called settlers.

They are.

At the same time, he said he was also shaken by images of dead and wounded Palestinian children in Gaza.

Hamas' treatment of its own people is deplorable. As Blinken noted:

“Hamas doesn’t care one second or iota for the welfare and well-being of the Palestinian people.”
