Right we've seen in this past, just another empty word.
Those 274 civilian that counted thousands from last year, can be counted as war crimes, well done UN!

The Israeli side demanding complete destruction of Hamas before they will agree to ceasefire.
Aint gunna happen.
Hamas is an idea innit

meh, Blinken is starting to believe his own rhetoric...I suppose 3 major conflicts breaking out under his watch is going to go down in his version of history as the great diplomatic achievement of modern times.

It makes no sense to accept cease fire now. They are literally with one foot in the grave. Whole place is blockade with nowhere to run. They are running out of ammunition and hiding places in that small area that is still being fought on. Why still trying to negotiate a cease fire? Give them breathing time to re-organize? Cease fire is always temporarily, because it's not a peace agreement. The fighting will restart again when the other side recovered. The fact is that the war already happened. Get it over with already.

"" Even as the U.S. has said Israel accepted the proposal, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has given conflicting signals, saying Israel will not stop until its its goal of destroying Hamas is achieved. ""
Typical Netanyahu survival game, never talk straight, always stay vague, conflicting signals is the name of his game so he can keep his A$$ out of jail.
Bibi has two choices now, Accept the deal with Hamas then go to jail, or Reject the deal, keep the war going till the next election then go to jail. Either way Bibi is Screwed.

$400 million American aid for Gaza.

Israel, people government cannot accept a ceasefire whilst Hamas exists in any shape or form.
That is only a starter.
Then Israel has to confront Hezbollah, Lebanon, and finally Iran.
Before finding an political cultural religious peace understanding with the Arab world.
JboneInTheZone
Whats the point in pushing for any kind of peace or ceasefire if you believe Israel will never hold up their end of the bargain?
What is your solution if not negotiated peace?

The funny thing is, though, that Israel did not agree to it. Just because Blinken SAID that Israel did, doesn't mean Israel did. Blinken is a liar just like the current POTUS.
Israel should, Israel must, Israel will finish the job.

Endless war , as advocated by some , is not viable.
I cannot understand how, say Hiro above, advocates more carpet bombing.
Are,nt Hamas underground ?
Thats what the Israelis' have always said.
The Israel strategy is no strategy, Just vengeance.
Destroy everything ,make Gaza a rubble moonscape and kill tens upon tens of thousands.
Meanwhile Hamas fighters keep surfacing from tunnels and blowing up tanks.
Hamas have always called for a permanent ceasefire, and Netanyahu has always rejected this.
Accept the idea of victory and photo ops for Netanyahu is a fantasy.
The situation is at a stalemate.
It is up to Israel to end this war.

When are the war crimes trials to start? Many of the key perpetrators still have not even been proscribed for their heinous destruction of lives and property: we know all their names, but they remain unmentionable and unindicted, a shameful indictment of the warmongers' stranglehold of power over decency that devalues human life and dishonors the 100,000 dead and wounded while adding insult to injury in their brazen disregard for the humanity of the traumatized millions as more children are massacred daily by bomb and bullet with no end in sight.

So, Hamas agreed to the deal as written, the Israeli regime refused, and Hamas, with long experience of how whatever deal Palestinians accepted but the Israeli regime doesn't becomes, in America's view, the starting point for Palestinians, while the maximalist pre negotiations position of the Israeli regime becomes the starting point for it, decided they weren't going to be cheated out of all their compromises again and went back to their starting point too.
The thing is that the clock is working against the Israeli regime in ways they believe impossible, instead of against Hamas.
It's not just the ICJ and ICC cases moving forward, it is the White Bloc's steady loss of dominance, and the aging of the hardliners in the White Bloc, while a generation that wants to be free of the hardliners are coming into power.
Like with the other antidemocratic 'democracy', the US government might maintain a 'normal' relationship with Israel while Europe and the rest of North America joins the rest of the world in treating it like the pariah it is, but that won't save the Jewish State in Palestine any more than it saved the White State in South Africa.

So let me get this straight:
When Israel didn’t accept an earlier ceasefire it was Israel’s fault
When Hamas doesn’t accept this ceasefire it’s Israel’s fault
Am I missing anything?
Chabbawanga
How can you destroy Hamas?
Chabbawanga
It had never been more obvious than after the rescue operation over the weekend. Israelis and their supporters openly saying that Israeli hostages are worth hundred, thousands or even all Gazan lives.
"The route to peace is through the death of countless more innocent children"
Is this a moral position to hold?
Redemption
The deal for Hamas just keeps getting worse. The worst negotiators imaginable. So sorry for the children who have to suffer through this and probably missing key points in their education.
Wasabi
It's seams that they do not want to release the hostages and do not want the war to end.
Wasabi
No, that mean they will free the hostage whatever the price. Wont you do the same for your familly?
GuruMick
Why hasnt Hamas killed the hostages ?
The IDF has killed more hostages than Hamas.
Negotiations secured 100 releases....attacks on civilians of Gaza, saw 4 hostage rescues.
Negotiations seem to work better.
GuruMick
And Wasabi above....buddy....you dont know my family....a bit of "hostage time " might help them actually.
zibala
Because then the terrorists wouldn't have any hostages.
wallace
IDF killed 3 hostages in the recent raid.
Geeter Mckluskie
Don't negotiate with terrorists who have claimed they will continue to attack you...again...and again...and again and again...not once, not 10 times, not 1000 times but 10,000 times.
Finish the job!
Geeter Mckluskie
"IDF killed 3 hostages in the recent raid."
And an Al Jezeera reporter who was holding hostages in his home
Geeter Mckluskie
"The Israeli side demanding complete destruction of Hamas before they will agree to ceasefire.
Aint gunna happen."
What will continue to happen is what has always happened. The surrounding Arab states will continue to attack Israel and Israel will continue to fight back...and the likes of you will continue to mewl about it like a kitten sucking on a hind teat.
JboneInTheZone
This hasn’t been confirmed and is only being stated by the armed wing of Hamas
Geeter Mckluskie
"Why hasnt Hamas killed the hostages ?"
What do you suppose the purpose of a hostage is?
Chabbawanga
Would I kill countless innocent children? No, i wouldnt. I couldnt. And it wouldn't even come to that, there has been a non-violent solution on the table since day one. Thats the option i would take. Thats the option most would take, including the families of the hostages who have been protesting against Netanyahu.
