Turtle McConnell finally does some work and gets legislation to the Dems in the house and it's passed. Turtle is sitting on over 100 bills passed by the house because he refuses to do his job.

This is a small win for President Trump and shows that he can get a deal from the Democrats.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Yesterday Pelosi said she would not accept Senator McConnells bipartisan immigration bill. Today she folded. Mitch beat her on this one. Small victory but Pelosi knows that her parties extreme de facto open borders stance is causing a humanitarian crisis- a crisis they tried to deny all of last year. The two dead bodies in the Rio Grande river seems to have forced her to capitulate.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Folded. the real leader of the Dem house, AOC, is mad.

This is actually very good news for the president. Finally we can get something done on the border and try to fix this problem that the Democrats never intended to do it still don’t care about.

Folded. the real leader of the Dem house, AOC, is mad.

Mad is an understatement.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

I guess the Democrats are going for the 'give a man enough rope' approach. The people were very clear they don't want this, the border states were very clear they don't want this. But if Trump and the pubs are going to shut down the country as a result, well the Democrats have to be the adults in the room. Which I'm sure they are ready to point out during the campaign, as an example of how out of touch the Pubs are with the people.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

That’s a long explanation of the word “folded”. Did that also cover “flip flopped?”

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I completely misunderstood this headline until I read the article. I thought that it meant the House had sent a (symbolic) bill meaning an invoice to Trump telling him that he had to find the money to pay for the issues at the border.

The haters who are salivating over this concession from Pelosi fail to understand that some protection to the children is better than no protection.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Mad is an understatement.

The suggestion that children should be allowed to die, just because they are different, is not just mad, its a monstrosity.

I wish she would have thought about this a year ago, it takes the death of a girl and her father for her and her minions to concede to help this President which in itself is absolutely ludicrous. Illegals should have never had any chance of ever entering the country illegally.

The suggestion that children should be allowed to die, just because they are different, is not just mad, its a monstrosity.

No one said that or even suggested that and I was talking about AOC.

Mitch is such scum. Instead of saying "We'll work towards a compromise with the house," like the Constitution envisioned, he pulls his usual nonsense. He's a long-term stain on our Democracy.

Back in the day, back when government used to work for the people, legislators knew that compromise was exactly what governing was about. That is the way you make policy.

Mitch is such scum.

I understand, I felt worse about Harry Reid.

Instead of saying "We'll work towards a compromise with the house," like the Constitution envisioned, he pulls his usual nonsense. He's a long-term stain on our Democracy.

See, now you know why I despised Reid so much.

Back in the day, back when government used to work for the people, legislators knew that compromise was exactly what governing was about. That is the way you make policy.

Yes, but we don’t live in those times anymore, our politics are completely partisan, that’s it.

The problem is that Donny wasn't ready to listen to any proposal other than funding for his wall. There were many proposals and climbdown from the Dems for the sake of keeping people safe, but for Donny a wall was more important than saving peoples' lives. So there is still no wall and more people are dying than ever.

No one said that or even suggested that.

You did in a separate post yesterday(so insensitive that the mods deleted it)

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The problem is that Donny wasn't ready to listen to any proposal other than funding for his wall.

Why should he listen to the Democrats when the Democrats position was not to build a barrier of sort that would slow down or halt illegals from coming in?

There were many proposals and climbdown from the Dems for the sake of keeping people safe,

Yes and NONE of them would have stopped the flow. Even the illegals knew it. The Dems weren’t for a wall, they weren’t for ending catch and release, sending back criminals and asylum seekers. Some of these Democrats wanted to decriminalize illegal border crossings, want to abolish ICE, want to block law enforcement from pulling over suspected illegals, not allowing to profile them, want issue them drivers licenses, want to allow them to vote, want to continue birthright citizenship, want to give them entitlements. The President and GOP would never, ever go for that, nor should they.

but for Donny a wall was more important than saving peoples' lives.

Actually that’s not true, if illegals know that they cannot enter this country, then that essentially saying lies from more than 50 countries of people that are trying to get in and that tried to make the perilous journey to cross the dangerous Rio Grande. That would’ve been a good tournament and then we wouldn’t be talking about this, so it would have essentially saved lives, which is the most important thing.

So there is still no wall and more people are dying than ever.

Well, let’s see if the Democrats are really going to do something about it now

You did in a separate post yesterday(so insensitive that the mods deleted it)

I don’t keep track of that, but all I know is, I have never suggested that children should die or it’s there fault. But who decided to make that journey? It’s the parents that ultimately decide to make the Journey, I understand why, but they are told the risks, and as a parent when you make a very risky and dangerous choice like that, you have to take responsibility for whatever happens as a parent. If my young daughter commits a crime, who is responsible? I am and as her parent, my job is to protect them, I have to take the responsibility and repercussions that come with it.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Why should he listen to the Democrats when the Democrats position was not to build a barrier of sort that would slow down or halt illegals from coming in?

Any sane person knows that its impossible to wall the whole border. The wall is nothin more than a monument for the attention hungry , mentally deficient leader that we have. Its his Taj Mahal at the border, dedicated to himself.

Yes and NONE of them would have stopped the flow.

Neither will a wall, all sane and rational people recognize that.

I don’t keep track of that,

There are a lot of people keeping track of a lot of things being said, and as you know none of them add up.

But the one from yesterday was so extreme its unforgettable.

It’s the parents that ultimately decide to make the Journey, I understand why, but they are told the risks

I wonder how great America would have been if no one had taken perilous journeys to discover it.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The vice president also agreed to the 90-day time limit for migrant children to be housed in influx facilities.

This is wrong. What happens when it overflows again and nobody outside the govt can accept anymore kids? What then? Put the kids on the streets on day 89?

This is too stupid for words. Typical politicians trying to win points instead of actually solving the root cause.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The people were very clear they don't want this, the border states were very clear they don't want this.

Yeah - the people were so much against it that a bipartisan majority of 89 voted for it in the Senate.

House Dems are so pathetic that they had to be forced into giving money to pay for housing the same illegals that they say Trump is abusing because he fails to provide the basic necessities that Dems don’t want to give him the money to pay for. And of course Cortez is throwing a fit because she wants the human suffering to continue so she can use it to bash Trump.

The Dems are openly encouraging illegal immigration and are working against the government to prevent enforcement of the border and are providing sanctuary to those breaking the law. All these deaths are on the Dems hands.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

You can't lock children into cages with proper care and giving them nothing to do except just sitting there wondering why they were separated from their families.

Obama built the cages - Trump inherited the policy. The parents who exploit their own children should also be held responsible for their actions.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Republican rule falls apart if elections are free and fair. They know that. To stay in power, they could change, or they could cheat. They’re not about to change...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

So how do we have pictures of children in cages prior to Trump being elected? His homeland security guy was given a tour, have pics of that too

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Any sane person knows that its impossible to wall the whole border.

Nonsense, there are many soft spot areas where you can build the wall they have done that, Steve Bannon has done that without any congressional approval and it can be done, that does not mean everyplace needs a wall but certain areas where there are cracks yes.

The wall is nothin more than a monument for the attention hungry , mentally deficient leader that we have. Its his Taj Mahal at the border, dedicated to himself.

No, it is a barrier that signifies and tells people that in this area you are not allowed in. It it works for Israel, it works for most people that have homes, it works for all the celebrities, it works for the White House. Come on, you’re making a losing argument.

Neither will a wall, all sane and rational people recognize that.

Once it’s all finished and erected, it sure will. You can ask any prison inmate if walls work or not.

There are a lot of people keeping track of a lot of things being said, and as you know none of them add up.

I felt the same way watching the Democrat debate last night......dear lord....

I wonder how great America would have been if no one had taken perilous journeys to discover it.

It was a different time when the country had no laws or rules now as a nation we have laws and rules and they must be obeyed and if not then you’re not allowed to come in. Try and do that in Mexico and watch a passing Port you, the Mexicans would not deal with anything like this on their end, that is one of the reasons why they keep sending them to the US.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Republican rule falls apart if elections are free and fair.

At least they’re free and fair, they don’t try to register the dead or advocate to change the EC or try to flood the country with illegals or watching to change the voting age to 16.

They know that. To stay in power, they could change, or they could cheat. They’re not about to change...

Hmmmm...change huh? Well, trying to pack the courts with as many liberal activists judges as they had before which was the only way to get their socialist policies through since Congress wasn’t. The Democrats have absolutely no room to talk about fairness when Democrats were ever anything but fair.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Mexico has detained more migrants than America.

GREAT! I want them to keep up the good work! ¡buen trabajo!

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

No you don't

Yes, I do. With all do respect you don’t know what I want and I am happy they are doing more.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Steve Bannon has done that without any congressional approval and it can be done,

This is just too funny, Bannon built a small wall on private land and now its being extrapolated to the whole border.

It it works for Israel, it works for most people that have homes.

Hilarious, you are now comparing the Israeli wall and even wall in people's home to you dream of a border wall.

You can ask any prison inmate if walls work or not.

Even more ridiculous. Are you sure you want to bring our dismal prisons into this argument? Know of any prisons with rivers flowing through them, or built on private land!!!

I felt the same way watching the Democrat debate last night......dear lord....

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. Presidential debates and juvenile boasts about work history, places where you grew up etc etc are nowhere close. And then the statement justifying killing because people are different. Such statements do not belong to this era.

It was a different time when the country had no laws or rules

So the US did not have any laws from till the mid 20th century?? Is this alternative history??

1 ( +1 / -0 )

First you curse them then you praise them. Which is it?

Started doing their best efforts and now even more so since Trump threatened them, yes I do appreciate them more now.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

This is just too funny, Bannon built a small wall on private land and now its being extrapolated to the whole border.

Good.

Hilarious, you are now comparing the Israeli wall and even wall in people's home to you dream of a border wall.

Not a dream 300 miles of it is being built as we speak, I’d call that a Stark reality.

Even more ridiculous. Are you sure you want to bring our dismal prisons into this argument? Know of any prisons with rivers flowing through them, or built on private land!!!

The point is prisons holding people in prison to have wolves and it’s really hard for those people to break through those world, the same goes for Israel and the same goes for the White House and the same goes for your backyard, so walls do work, if they didn’t a lot of mailmen would be mauled.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. Presidential debates and juvenile boasts about work history, places where you grew up etc etc are nowhere close. And then the statement justifying killing because people are different. Such statements do not belong to this era.

As I said, they were a joke, funny, especially when Castro, Booker ans Beto battled in Spanish, hilarious!

So the US did not have any laws from till the mid 20th century?? Is this alternative history??

No like today. Keep it real now.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Sober up.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Interesting... these are probably the only prisons in the world that people are trying to break IN to...

Seems that Pelosi finally saw that resistance was futile. Better to give the President his win and then fight afterwards, and count on the voting public's collective short memory. Hopefully (from the left wing perspective) another tragedy will occur to distract the public from the reality of the situation.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Not a dream 300 miles of it is being built as we speak, I’d call that a Stark reality.

People confuse fences for walls sometimes, more like alternative reality.

Lots of scattered words but not meaning, prisons, wolves and mailmen!!!!!!!!

As I said, they were a joke, funny, especially when Castro, Booker ans Beto battled in Spanish, hilarious!

Comparing scattered thoughts to Presidential debates!!!! Really Really get ahead of your level here.

Justifying people getting killed for being different is as far as your thought process can go.

No like today. Keep it real now.

This is just too funny,.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

People confuse fences for walls sometimes, more like alternative reality.

Speaking of reality, we can call it a barrier, that should clarify all the mixup and misunderstandings.

Lots of scattered words but not meaning, prisons, wolves and mailmen!!!!!!!!

None of which can be breached by a wa...I mean, “barrier.”

Justifying people getting killed for being different is as far as your thought process can go.

I’m sorry, but what in the world are you talking about, you cannot point to anything where I said such a thing or even advocated for it, in fact, I’m more for a...barrier than ever because I don’t want this kind of nonsense to continue.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

So much of that paragraph makes sense. "wolves in prisons" "hard for people to break out" what the people or the wolves? Israel wall is more about a land grab.

You are right. I deepest apologize, Siri is crap, but no choice.

White House does not have a wall

A gate, it’s still a barrier and you can’t get in, try and you will be severely dealt with as it has happened a few times.

https://search.yahoo.co.jp/image/search?p=white+House+fence&pcarrier=ソフトバンク&pmcc=440&pmnc=20&ei=UTF-8&fr=ipad#mode%3Ddetail%26index%3D8%26st%3D0

Stop the family separations!

Stop the illegal border crossings.

Mexico has been out arresting migrants for quite some time.

And they’re doing more thankfully and the Wall is coming along, now let’s see how far the Dems want to add to that.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Yes! ok but whatever the government decides to there will still many people who try and probably die but if they do make it to American

Yes, but with far less numbers.

soil then stop the family separations, as is done in Europe.

So let’s then hope the Democrats work with the Republicans to come with real legislation to finally stop this and if that includes a wall so be it.

There are also genuine asylum seekers who arrive has a family unit.

A new development are the arrival of African migrants because Europe are detaining and deporting more of them.

And they also need to come in legally, if not, they should be detained processed and sent back and apply for asylum in their countries or depends if they can prove that they are really asylum seekers and not just wanting to find employment. Legal is the only answer to avoid any problems.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

And they also need to come in legally, if not, they should be detained processed and sent back and apply for asylum in their countries or depends if they can prove that they are really asylum seekers and not just wanting to find employment.

What is, "how to prove you have zero understanding of the asylum process in one sentence", Alex?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

What is, "how to prove you have zero understanding of the asylum process in one sentence", Alex?

Clearly this is the Achilles heel of the Democrat party.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Asylum seekers are generally expected to flee their country and then STOP as soon as they are somewhere safer. For most central Americans, that means Mexico. And only IF they are in fear of their lives, fleeing brutal oppression, etc. Not simply if they are dissatisfied with their financial state.

As seemed the case with the father and child who drowned at the border. They had ALREADY applied for asylum and were waiting in a camp in southern Mexico. But they were impatient and tried to jump the queue. Plus their claim was probably going to be denied as both the mother AND father were gainfully employed and there was no indication of any imminent danger. Tragic, but definitely not America's fault.

Exactly, spot on. It was very sad and heart wrenching to see their bodies like that, but as you there was no need to rush if they passed the asylum interview, this was a tragic accident that could have easily been avoided.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

If we stick poles in the ground and tie a string across, will that keep the haters happy?

A gate

I think we have that at the border.

you cannot point to anything where I said such a thing

Err mmm, because it was so extreme the mods deleted it.
