I really doubt it. IOC knows very well about it.

Couldn't give me free tickets to the opening ceremony to get me there!!!!

I dunno. I lived there for six months and it didn't feel any more dangerous than, say, London or Manchester.

By 2016 I doubt there will BE any Olympics due to the food riots and such.

Officials said they did not know if the gangs targeted the helicopter or it was hit by stray bullets.

Hahaha stray bullets in air!! Quite some stray shooting going on

The drug war of Rio,another 14 people sent to heaven by Brazil , in Monkey Hill slum turf war.

Brazil police will execute immediately, any criminal for just carrying guns, that's how brutal things are ,between police and criminals.

Few are caught alive to be taken to courts, they are executed after they are caught,if they have guns. Keeps the police safer.

By 2016 olympics/2014 world cup,Brazil/Brazil police have a lot of image cleaning to do.

Hey, where are the screaming republicans who wanted Rio to win over Chicago.

Maybe they thought that homicide was a gold metal sport.

Brazil is a war zone, shot down a helicopter. I've seen the video footage of the helicopter going down. Brazil needs more police, and military. Yes, brazilian death squads are true. i should know. i'm brazilian.

Safety and security is going to be a much bigger headache in Rio than even Chicago much less Tokyo. Good luck to Brazil but Rio is not a safe city by any means, the police have a lot of work ahead of them.

Athletes will be required to display their numbers clearly on their kevlar athletic wear.

One good thing is that the sprinters will train to outrun bullets, like superman.

I wonder what odd Vegas going to place for the body count at Rio? LOL

Please, that place is so bloody dangerous you would have to be a fool to go there.

I wonder how much the IOC got paid to put the Olympics in that slum?LOL

I heard of a new Olympic event specifically designed for the Rio games. It is called,"DUCK, the boys got a gun and his about to shoot!" or "me dê seu dinheiro" for short.

"In this sport they put some 20 street gang members on one end of the field carrying their favorite AK. Next to each gang member they place a tourist with a whole lot of cash. The tourist is given a 10 second head start then the gang member opens fire. If the tourist makes it 100 yards without being killed he gets to keep his cash. But, if the gang member kills the tourist he gets the cash...."

Oh I do hope they have matching his' and her's body bags.LOL

Rio, great slum to get robbed in...LOL
