If the whole world had eradicated an outbreak of covid in 8 days like Brisbane just did then no mutation would have occurred.

Pretty simple and easy really. Instead because of the selfishness and stupidity of world "leaders" we now have Delta Plus and Lambda and a new super virus in Indonesia which has yet to be named.

Australia is a backwards country

Have a look at the death toll in Australia. Then have a look at your country.

One of those nations values lives - whether the other does is debatable.

I am not Australian so my vote on how they fight COVID infections is irrelevant. It seems the majority of Australians are okay with how it's been done (closing the borders, rolling lockdowns). The ruling party will probably get reelected.

Steve

Australia is a backwards country,

Really?

still aiming for the impossible goal of zero cases.

Actually, quite realistic. Look at New Zealand.

Brisbane will back in lockdown within a few weeks when another handful of cases are detected.

Pure speculation.

how many small businesses have gone bankrupt ?

how many people now have no income because their place of work has been forced to close ?

I don’t know. Do you have a a real numerical answer for these questions?

You must be American, as you don’t seem to know that the Aussie government has been taking care of its people.

The ruling party will probably get reelected.

The most recent polls show a 47-53 swing against the incumbent party against the opposition on a two-party preferred basis. The public are realizing that the PM has two modes of operandi in a crisis: run (flee to Hawaii like he did during the bushfire crisis), or deflect blame - just watch any press conference and see how often he says something like "I reject the premise of the question", without actually taking accountability.

This.

It's also quite appalling how so many people value money over their fellow citizens very lives.

What happens when you do rolling lockdowns?

(a) small business go bankrupt

(b) governments increase public debt

This means that

(a) medium class influence decreases

(b) governments must follow policy of banks who own debt

Maybe someone wants to accelerate this process in Australia and in Europe.

Just imagine being vaccinated, healthy, and having a minimal case of being affected, yet being unable to have friends and family members visit you at home, being unable to travel interstate, etc. Crazy.

Some people can't stand the fact that Australia has managed the pandemic really well and at the same time kept their economy afloat despite the pandemic

how many small businesses have gone bankrupt ?

how many people now have no income because their place of work has been forced to close ?
