I wouldn't care if Britain helps the rebels. Got no problem with it at all. Not if they give em guns and ammo, nor military training. However if they step in to fight the war for them, I'd say thats crossing a line that shouldn't be crossed.

Gaddafi may not have trained the IRA but he certainly helped arm them, so what goes around comes around in this case

I pretty much have to agree with Molenir. Train them and arm them, but they have to take back their own country.

Not only Britian but most of the world would have a problem with that. IRA is branded a terror org for a reason and Gaddafi too. Its only inconsistent if you think all are equal and principled when in fact they are not. That said, there was a time when supporting the IRA would have been better than supporting Britian, but times have changed.
