Classic! The 'funny' part is that these groups are worse than those who follow Islam, because not all are radicals or extremists.

They're connecting to the wrong people obviously. Just FYI, but its not about muslims but about Islam itself. Muslims are individuals too and each person follows Islam on how they themselves interpret it or how they are taught to interpret it. As much as apologists want to call Islam another religion, its not. Both need to keep in touch with the apostates of Islam that have their own organizations and are quite vocal about Islamic ideology and methods of "integration" into non-Islamic societies. Ex-muslims themselves call Islam the worlds largest cult mentality.

" The movements are not formally aligned, but the relatively new English Defense League—which warns that Islamic fundamentalism will soon engulf Britain—is seeking guidance and inspiration from some U.S. figures taking a similar stance. "

What a joke. Shame on the AP or whoever trots out trash like this. The movement in the States is largely about the out of control spending and taxes we face. The movement exists because our political system, unlike the one on Great Britain, is one in which individual voters can still make a difference. We have open primaries in the US. That is why the 'tea party movement' exists. If you are British, or Canadian, or European, or Japanese, THAT is why you do not and CANNOT understand the movement in the US.

What religion doesn't have a cult mentality?

Sad to see a Rabbi spreading hate.

Man I can't really believe that it takes British Hooligans to actually see the future of Britain! These guys can see into the future and can see that it is the USA that they will then again depend upon when Europe's unwillingness to act in time gets the whole continent into trouble. I'm glad to see that not all Brits are putting their heads in the sand like many other European nations. Both they and the French know what happens when they do.

Indians, Blacks, Jews ,Asian/Vietnamese(?), Communists and now Islam/Arabs.Why the so called civilized western world is always looking for new enemies to fight?

Islam/Arabs.Why the so called civilized western world is always looking for new enemies to fight?

Islam is not a "race."

It is an ideology, which encompasses religion and politics - hence the threat it poses to democratic nations which keep the 2 separate. It is hard to believe you can still encounter educated people who need to shoehorn their crude, biologically-obsessed identity politics into a debate which is fundamentally about ideas and values.

I rest my case:

The Washington Post carried an article today related to this very subject. Research findings about the supposed racism at 'tea parties' - -

" A new analysis of political signs displayed at a tea party rally in Washington last month reveals that the vast majority of activists expressed narrow concerns about the government's economic and spending policies and steered clear of the racially charged anti-Obama messages that have helped define some media coverage of such events..."

IOW - the elitist, overwhelmingly Left-leaning mainstream media's misrepresentation of ordinary patriotic Americans is the only 'hate' going on out there.

TimRussert,

Did I say that Islam was a race? And then you should have said too that Communism isn't race. It is hard to believe for you to believe that people believes in God and are Muslims as it is difficult for them to believe in what YOU believe. Let them believe in what they want until they want to change YOU then you can fight those individuals who want to change you and your way of living as they have the right to fight the individuals who want to change their way of living. And i wanted to say that the western world had a history of believing that its way of thinking is the best and wants to impose it to other people. The western world is a lot to blame in today's world.I think yes they have the right to give their opinion about international matters I just think they should do it with more humility.

National Front becomes International Front.

I think that the warping of the phrase TEA PARTY and its historical context has now come full circle.

U.S. liberals and their allies in the MSM continue its "look over there" campaign strategy in the run up to the shellacking the democrats will receive on Nov. 2.

Heh, you can smell the fear.

how many groups have ties with CAIR, the Muslim Brother hood and what not. Or, are you all just wishing one side the best?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Good point, skip. Also, how many representatives from those organizations (including the PLO) were at Obama's Muslim summit at the White House a few weeks back?

Let them believe in what they want until they want to change YOU" Well, we now know you couldn't be from London, NY, or NJ

Britain needs open primaries preceding elections, like we have in the United States.

I do not think this anti Islam group is actually as bad as the Tea Party, but if they are looking for VISION? HELP? I can only imagine how pig headed these blokes in the UK must be, not that I am any fan of Islam, I like my beer cold, my chicharrones hot (pig skin fried) but I have to agree with Afro Engineer san that this smacks of racism and xenophobia.

many of the people in the above link are tea party members and there is a great support for leaving Islam in the UK to immigrate to the US as the UK is not safe for them.... I caught a few of these people last time in NYC a few weeks ago. You guys could at least hear their side of the story instead of your own selected media and then make an opinion.

Sheikh Maulana Abu Sayeed, president of the Islamic Sharia Council in Britain, it is not possible for rape to occur in marriage. He claims women falsify rape claims to try and obtain a divorce. If a woman is brutalized by her husband, he claims this is undesirable but an apology should suffice. Sayeed runs the largest network of Sharia courts in the UK." I guess many of you agree with him. Look at the last part Islamic Sharia Council in Britain" and they have pull and yet one poster claims they don't want to change a place.

This brit Anti-Islam group is trying to kiss up to a republican candidate running for office in one of the bluest states in the union, California. Goes to prove foreigners don't understand our political values.

Too funny.

To the mod: would you mind sharing with the members of this thread as to what was offensive of the link that I provide? which word: apostate, islam, or what is just the dot com... folk, you guys above say we have a freedom of speech but should not offend, so some one tell me why the three words above are offensive?

Moderator: As a measure to block spam, we are not permitting http://www. in comments.

skipthesong: I've noticed that for whatever reason this page has started doing that lately, and once you get the alert notice it doesn't usually go away. Try copying your comment, closing down your browser, and reopening. That's worked for me a few times. I think there's a flaw.

TimRussert: "...crude, biologically-obsessed identity politics...", "...the elitist, overwhelmingly Left-leaning mainstream media's...."

You know Tim's upset when he starts to make up 4 - 5 word adjectives! Seriously, though, do you think we could keep this to the article and not turn it into invectives against Obama and the Democrats? It would ultimately make the comments more relevant.

Skipthesong,

Why quoting only one part of what i said out of a whole argument?

Let them believe in what they want until they want to change YOU" Well, we now know you couldn't be from London, NY, or NJ

No I don't and then as i say fight the INDIVIDUALS who want to change you and do no harm to people who didn't do nothing to you. And it goes the both way then, don't go to Kabul or Baghdad and expect people to welcome your way of living/thinking.

afroengineer: My mother practices Santería, she's not allow to practice it in my house; she respects that. While living in Chicago, there was an ordinance on how her group could practice - I supported that decision by the city. Almost all my family came from the Caribbean, to date, none, nada, has ever ever requested the US to change for them. I have never asked Japan to change for me..... is it such an out of the way request to ask others to do the same? Sorry man but I might be seeing things, but I see a lot pushing for change tilting towards Islam/Shariah. If you don't believe me, go to Jersey, Queens, and numerous other places, come back and tell me iff you are down with it. I'm not. As ffor the tea party, there are black and Hispanic tea partiers, especially in NYC. There are Arabs in the tea party too... So I think you guys are wrong in painting thousands of people

I have never asked Japan to change for me..... is it such an out of the way request to ask others to do the same?

Excellent point. How I would enjoy seeing some of the more demanding of the "all cultures are the same" crowd here tell local J-officials to make room for some of the things they insist Americans put up with from Muslim immigrants. They would laugh you out of the ward office.

"Anti-Islamification" is not necessarily anti-Islam. There are Muslims who support Sharia and those who do not. Are the latter "anti-Islamic"?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Skipthesong,

we are not understanding each other.I don't know much about Tea Party and I'm not judging or putting all its members in the same bag.I'm just telling fight the radicals and leave the majority peaceful alone. And I can think even a second of NJ or any places in the US adopting sharia. People should more worry about economy and jobs than sharia.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

People should more worry about economy and jobs than sharia." sharia complacence banking isn't gonna help and if you haven't noticed, the economy is only getting worse which is why I feel the prez was wrong to back the mosque the way and when he did.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

What a biased article. Why is it "right-wing fringe" to watch the islamification of the UK and warn about it? It is simply a question of being realistic or keeping ones eyes firmly shut.

Right, left or whatever wing -- Shariah will affect everyone, and not in a way that we like, if we appreciate our freedom and human rights.

This rabbi from California should be EXCOMMUNICATED! I do not know if Jews have excommunications but this a.hole should be the LAST person making this kind of movement, anti Islamic. How many Jews in Europe were killed by racists, by NAZIS? I have good Jewish friends and I am sure they must be ashamed of this dork for back stabbing the Democratic party and then back stabbing American Jews by going on with this UK born English Defense league.

Just when you think you've figured out the Tea Party they take another turn into the "Wait, who is standing next to them now?" lane.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

what has the tea party done, in terms of destruction or death? I'll put it to you like this, no Jew, or tea party member has done a thing to me, but I do know 19 Muslims changed my life, cost me a lot of friends, forced me and my then new wife to up root everything and basically live in circles for a year and a half. Up until that point and I spent a lot of time in Muslim lands (former Yugoslavia, Somalia, Kuwait) during times of need and still never harbored anything type of undesired feelings. Why should I be so happy that so many want slant hug up to Islam when I personally feel screwed by them and I really don't see enough being done by the people with pull in that religion to rectify the issues. On a side note, I don't get you libs, especially you white libs.... we spent years removing religion out of the public, especially schools, now you want to bring religion back to the public sector but this time you want it in the form of Islam. I'll go with my mom's belief and that is that understanding and acceptance can not be forced, that is what yous guys are doing, but is best when we come together naturally. I takes time sure, but the way yous have been pushing it ain't cutting it. You guys need a different approach. As for the tea party, what I have recently learned from my brother who's now part of the Hispanic tea party of Chicago is that 1. there are a lot more blacks and latinos, asians -especially orientals, mixed religions, than what you or I imagined. In fact last time in NYC, I spent time in Jersey City, a mostly black and Puerto Rican city and I was surprised at what I saw who was down with the tea party and against what they say is an Islamicazation of some parts of NY and NJ.

Many in the tea party of old, you can't possibly tell me you agree with Chris Matthews that they should be listed along side Islamic terrorists.

Just when you think you've figured out the Tea Party they take another turn into the "Wait, who is standing next to them now?" lane.

You can say that again.Russ Feingold, behind in the polls to a Repub in Wisconsin (!) , is trying to say he is actually a Tea Party kinda guy. WSJ 's John Fund has been following the hilarity.

skipthesong has a point, 19 Saudis hijacked American planes on 9/11 but we can cry night and day about this evil act of terrorism but if Americans, UKers etc...do not understand that PROVIDING ISRAEL with lots of $$$ and missiles to kill Palestinians, Lebanese etc..that the Arabs are just going to sit around, no, Westerners will be completely mistaken. Israel is also guilty of terrorism, they killed off the UKers to make modern day Israel, now they are killing off the Palestinians to try to keep this part of the world. I do not want Sharia law here in Japan, but I also know that we must take a good look at this horrible situation and that the WEST, Christians and Jews are also guilty of violence against Muslims, not just Muslims being all bad.

I've noticed among my English friends that there is very much a growing anti-Islam/Muslim sentiment in the country, as well as generally an anti-foreigner slant. But before anyone based in the US condemns this you have to take into account geographical size of the country. If Muslims take over most of Flint, MI then it's one city in a vast country. If they do the same to Sheffield in a country that's the size of one of our smaller states - it's more of a big deal. Britain has held the immigration gates open with a friendly hand for too long, and with the vast cultural differences between your typical English man/woman and your typical practitioner of Islam, the problem is bound to stir discontent. I was in London a year ago and Soho could have been another country (other than England).

As others have pointed out I think the link to the tea party is just the leftist media's attempt to further try to soil their reputation, possibly/likely based on a single statement made by a single individual somewhere. Suddenly the two groups are intertwined when in fact some single individual likely made an off the cuff comment.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Wow. Agents of intolerance looking to team up with the mouth breathers of the tea party.

Never would have seen that one coming.
