It's the right move and I think the US should do the same. Furthermore, anybody coming back from there after fighting for ISIS should not be allowed back into the country. If they like it over there so much, take away their passports and let them stay there.

It would be insane to accord religious fanatics the benefits of political correctness. If it can be proved that they took part in the hostilities, they should be arrested on the spot at the airport, charged with murder and prosecuted accordingly. Perhaps that will also serve as a deterrent to keep them from coming back at all.

Anyone coming back from fighting for any terrorist group in Syria or Iraq should have their passports seized.

Cancelling citizenship would be the right thing to do, but I don´t think Cameron will pull through with it. I predict he will surrender to PC pressure and instead invent some kind of "re-education" aka welfare plus councelling program for these murderers. Just wait for it.

They'll be detained briefly, then they'll be out and back on benefits within the week; later claiming compensation for police harassment, and damages for infringements on their EU-granted human rights; all paid for by the same people that they are trying to behead and blow up!

More freedoms being discarded in the name of the war on terror. Should have just left these punters alone in the first place.

What about fighting for the terror group known as the British military?

'Speaking to Parliament, Cameron said his government is also working on plans to block such suspected British jihadi fighters from re-entering the UK'

The use of 're-entering' is utterly depressing. After trying centuries of vicious religious sectarianism and discrimination we managed to largely tame Christianity in the UK to a half-arsed evensong. Not content with importing a new, different strain of religious extremism, we now export it. I wonder if Cameron will see the elephant in the room and ask why the UK is producing hundreds of radicalized murderers.

What is the crime - travelling abroad to fight with "terrorist" groups, or travelling abroad to fight for a cause. What is the difference between fighting for IS and fighting for the International Brigades against Franco in the 1930s? It's easy to say one is a noble cause and one is evil, but who decides. It's all the more messy when the British government itself has supported or proposed supporting groups in Libya and Syria who under many interpretations would also be classed as terrorists. More practically, arresting people on their return is likely to add to the numbers supporting such causes. Better to tackle the issue of why so many young British Muslims are signing up, and instead of giving us the usual pious speeches, a good dose of ridicule and sarcasm could go a lot further. But the UK's half-arsed evensong (nice expression, Jimizo), will prevent this because it might require talking a bit more directly about the realities of religious belief. (You're not meant to really believe it, Naveed. It's just a story, like Santa Claus.)

This is the UK we're talking about and the Islamic jihadists from Londonistan. Nothing bad will happen to them. When they return, they'll be given a nice house and lots of benefits, and the government (tax payers) will pay for their offspring to be educated in faith schools where they can learn to hate British values even more.

Prime Minister David Cameron on Monday proposed new laws that would give police the power to seize the passports of Britons suspected of having traveled abroad to fight with terrorist groups.

That's a good start, but how about tossing those folks into a detention area until it is determined that they never committed atrocities!

Then just to be on the safe side give those little darlings a psychological evaluation to determine if they are a threat to the nation!

If they are deemed to be a threat to the nation bury them in some deep hole and keep them there for as long as it takes.

Extreme time require extreme measures. ISIS and those that fight for them deserve nothing, they are a threat and must be treated as so.

But, of course Liberals would rather give them a hug, ask them why they are so mad, then give them a place to live and money to spend!

Members of that psychopathic terror group are a threat to anyone who doesn't think like they do and they must be treated as we treat vermin.

albaleoSep. 02, 2014 - 06:21PM JST What is the crime - travelling abroad to fight with "terrorist" groups, or travelling abroad to fight for a cause.

No, committing acts of terror for that sick cause.

albaleoSep. 02, 2014 - 06:21PM JST What is the difference between fighting for IS and fighting for the International Brigades against Franco in the 1930s?

There were International units fighting for and against Franco, but none of them were beheading women, children, elderly and men over the age of 14 who wouldn't convert to their religion. Big difference.

But, most Liberals would rather give ISIS a hug and money to ease their pains.

AKBfanSep. 02, 2014 - 04:43PM JST More freedoms being discarded in the name of the war on terror. Should have just left these punters alone in the first place.

So, would you like one of those fine fellows to move in next to you?

Exactly, Liberals will scream, yell, demean the Governments actions and demand the release of those little psychos. After those psychos are released and start their terror campaign against Britain the same Liberals will scream and yell against the Government and demand to know why the Government isn't doing it's job!

Liberals are the first to scream for the civil liberties of psychos and they are the first to complain!

This is what's known as "blowback" or unitended consequences. Go around kicking hornets' nests and they are bound to come back on you.

To show that even a broken clock is right twice a day, "Cuba’s former president Fidel Castro compared NATO’s recent statements to that of Nazi SS and accused US and its allies of igniting conflicts abroad. Castro slammed John McCain for backing Israel and accused both of being involved in the creation of ISIS."

More Cameron nonsense to try and placate his party and stop them turning to UKIP. You cannot take away British citizenship from non-natrualised citizens. It breaks several UK and international agreements and laws - you cannot make someone stateless. Maybe he should be putting time and effort into stopping radicalisation at source, not alienating these people further. A desperate and pathetic statement from Cameron.

JoeBigs,

Your angry rhetoric may make you feel better, but it offers no practical solution.

"Members of that psychopathic terror group are a threat to anyone who doesn't think like they do and they must be treated as we treat vermin."

So should we encourage people to travel to join Hezbollah then, who seem to share your ant-takfiri position and will undoubtedly treat them as vermin?

"There were International units fighting for and against Franco, but none of them were beheading women, children, elderly and men over the age of 14 who wouldn't convert to their religion. Big difference."

Some of them were killing priests and nuns - is it such a big difference?

Detain these beestards at the border and do not permit them to re enter, confiscate their passport and investigate them thoroughly. If found to be involved or connected in any way send them straight back to where they last boarded the flight.

These people care nothing for others so time the world got tough on them show them no sympathy and deny them their rights, they need it.

And anyone who sympathises with them should come under harsh investigation and interrogation.

Care nothing for these filthy murders who would like to see you all reciting the Koran or beheaded. They deserve no rights.

They do not like or respect the west or the western way of life then get them out , do not tolerate them or their type.

As Elizabeth Heath states, "You cannot take away British citizenship from non-naturalised citizens".

Exactly. Arrest, charge and detain them on re-entry. Fine, let British justice take its course. Seize their passports. Fine, this is a legitimate power that the government holds. But refuse British citizens entry to the UK? Strip natural born Britons of their citizenship? I cannot believe that a British government, even a Tory one, is seriously considering this. This kind of foolish and ill thought-out over-reaction is exactly what terrorism aims for. Thatcher understood this, why can't Cameron?

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Cameron is full of it, as usual. He cannot prevent British citizens from re-entering the UK and he cannot remove their citizenship if they were born as British citizens.

What he could do is to write a law that allows those who fight in designated conflicts to be prosecuted on their return to the UK. He won't do that because he is fundamentally lazy and prefers to do nothing.

He could also deport or imprison imams who preach hatred, but he won't do that either. He could abolish religious schools and enforce a secular education for everyone. No chance of that though.

How about locking up those characters who walk around with signs calling for the death of infidels? Nope, not while Cameron is in charge.

Another idea would be to stop Saudi Arabia from funding extremism in British mosques. That's also not going to happen.

But hey, Cameron has banned Robert Spencer, who runs the site jihadwatch.org, from entering the UK on the grounds that his presence is "not conducive to the public good". I'm sure we all feel much safer for that. Meanwhile, those who call for infidels to be killed and women to be beaten are welcomed with open arms.

Don't listen to what Cameron says, look at what he does. Then worry.

The silver cloud is that maybe more countries like Japan will learn how shortsighted immigration and refugee policies have a direct consequence on national security. I hope my country learns something from this mess the UK deliberately got itself into.

Anyway, UK can't do this legally, due to all the international agreements it has signed, many as part of its globalization drive.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

@scrote. I agree, we should stop state funding of religious schools at the very least.

It is high time that the West wake up, radical Islam is at war against it!

If the West doesn't wake up there will many more dead and they won't be innocent reporters being beheaded by these psychopaths! They will be the citizens who pay their taxes and expect to be protected against these psychopaths!

Time to take a hard stance against these psychopaths who have declared war!

Remember Lee Rigby, he was beheaded at home for no reason by insane psychopathic Islamic radicals!

Do you want more of these psychopaths running around your neighborhood?

Stop them before they have a chance!

If they fought for ISIS or any other radical terrorist group cage them and don't let them see the light of day until we are sure they aren't a danger to their fellow citizens!

albaleoSep. 02, 2014 - 09:51PM JST Your angry rhetoric may make you feel better, but it offers no practical solution.

Tell that to the victims of these psychopaths! Your Liberal idea is to hand these psychopaths more weapons to convert mindless youths to their psychopathic ideas. Your way is creating more monsters not stopping them.

albaleoSep. 02, 2014 - 09:51PM JST So should we encourage people to travel to join Hezbollah then, who seem to share your ant-takfiri position and will undoubtedly treat them as vermin?

No, my dear lad or lass, we don't encourage anyone to do anything, we need to stop them before they can do anything else, huge difference!

albaleoSep. 02, 2014 - 09:51PM JST Some of them were killing priests and nuns - is it such a big difference?

That was 78 years ago and I am pretty sure most of those murderers are dead! The ISIS murderers are alive and well murdering human being who were alive a few hours ago, big, big, big, big, difference!

Believe it or not, but ISIS has been having a great time killing as many non-combatants as their psychopathic insanity has allowed them to and Liberals are concerned about their right to kill some more!

But, tell me, how would you feel if they beheaded one of your infant nieces, nephews or even one of your children?

Would you be willing to bake them a cake or would you be a bit angry?

It's easy to be a Liberal when it's other peoples children being slaughtered by these animals.

If you want proof of what they have done I have links to prove my point, no, I don't keep those links because I am a sicko, I keep those links to fight Liberal touchy feely bunk!

Reality is the best medicine against Liberalism and Communism!
