"It was pleasing to see that people were largely compliant with the government guidance. Where they weren’t, and after we engaged with them, they quickly were," he said.

So if you obey the “guidance” only after being told to separate you are allowed to spread out and further disperse the infection. If you tell Bobby to shove his guidance you go to prison. Why not arrest everyone who broke the “guidance”? If such draconian measures are required why hasn’t marshal law been declared?

It’s fine for government health experts to offer guidance such as what constitutes a healthy diet. Arrest is extreme. It is also not being enforced equitably. The coronavirus has had the effect of a shot of steroids for Big Brother.

Civil disobedience is not only for the Left.

Organised by a company recently registered by Jayden Fransen, deputy leader of ultra right wing Britain First.

Burning Bush, I disagree. And that’s because that group will then separate and potentially spread any contamination they come into contact with.

Far right or far left are all loons.

Jeremy is immaterial. Piers has a long association with Labour and indentifies as being left-wing. Seeing as he was one of those arrested, I don't think labelling everything as far-right is correct.

I don’t often agree with you but you are right here. There are idiots on both sides. Piers Corbyn is a nut job.

The best way to deal with idiots like this is to be prepared to call out idiots on both sides.

“A guideline is not a law.

There is no law that says you can not be near your friends or family outside”.

Guidelines are not law it’s true. However the emergency legislation requires people to follow the guidelines. Think of the guidelines as an approved code of practice backed up by law.

The guidelines are there to reduce the risk not just of individual infection but further transmission. A person is free to do what they like, but that freedom stops when it harms others.

Jeremy Cobryn's brother was one of those arrested

You can chose your friends but you can't chose your family. Piers succumbed to conspiracy theories a long time back.

A gaggle of anti-vaxxing, "5G will melt your brain" crackpots backed by shadowy far-right groups.

Jeremy Cobryn's brother was one of those arrested:

Japan does not have the bible thumping, gun hoarding, freedom fry loving, selfish loons that could think their right to make others sick is so important that they break rules and get arrested. People like this are why the USA is COVID-19 central right now with over 90.,000 deaths. So much winning . . .

Well, sure but this is about London protests.

Thank goodness such idiotic behavior does not exist in Japan. I'd look closer at the people behind some of these events.

People like Jayda Fransen.

Clearly, if someone really has this virus, with how far it can travel - six feet is not even close to enough. And those spewing the social distance crap know it.

Idiots know no boundaries!!!

The Metropolitan Police said that a group in central London's Hyde Park had been protesting about the government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and had failed to comply with repeated requests to disperse.

Our UK friends are so ever genteel...

If this protest would have occurred in America, all the protesters would be wearing camo outfits, packing AR15s, and waving Confederate flags and Trump 2020 banners - and they'd be chewing a Tidy Bowl disinfectant...

And when confronted by the police, there would likely be a firefight...

The UK has protesters, we have domestic terrorists...

A gaggle of anti-vaxxing, "5G will melt your brain" crackpots backed by shadowy far-right groups. Pretty standard really. It's disappointing to see this American-style lunacy in the UK.

This is draconian overreach of the government into the personal space and choices of individuals.

It could be this is an overreach in London where individuals have rights. But in Wuhan or Moscow, probably all throughout countries like China and Russia where citizens are so closely watched, it might not be 'overreaching', instead just the government using normal powers.

Great to see in western democracies individuals can still challenge the state. I don't agree with this protest, but think they still have the right.
