Texas authorities have not confirmed their involvement, but the bus drop-offs are in line with previous actions by border-state governors calling attention to the Biden administration’s immigration policies.

Abbot and DeSantis abusing people and wasting time with these stunts instead of arresting the employers of illegals and traffickers of migrants and confiscating their assets.

But can't go after the capital owners no siree

Whether Florida or California, the government would have to prosecute almost every single farmer, every farm labor broker, and shut down much of the construction and food processing industries to do what you suggest. I tend to agree it is what should be done but realize the economic impact of such a move. Imagine the uproar if even a quarter of the farmers in Florida or in California were prosecuted for using illegal immigrant labor. Imagine if meat packing plants were closed and their management arrested for knowingly using illegal labor. Oh, throw in FedEx and UPS while you are at it. There has to be a smoother way to deal with this. We can't shut down huge chunks of the economy to root out people who immigrated to the US illegally.

How did they get over Donald Trump's wall that Mexico paid for?

5 ( +8 / -3 )

“White House spokesperson Abdullah Hasan called the bus drop-offs a “cruel, dangerous, and shameful stunt.”

Exactly. What a ducey move at Xmas.

Harris, in charge of the border but she has never been there. Hopeless but she ticked all the boxes.

Harris, in charge of the border but she has never been there.

No, she has visited the border.

What should she physically do there?

Abbot and DeSantis abusing people

But encouraging mass migration of illegals to enter the country knowing the majority of Americans don’t want this and to do this in this crazy winter condition is not abuse?

and wasting time with these stunts instead of arresting the employers of illegals and traffickers of migrants and confiscating their assets.

You can walk and chew gum at the same time.

But can't go after the capital owners no siree

No American that lives along the border or across the US wants to see its country overrun by millions of illegals, the WH created this unsustainable situation and now they expect the States to pay the price? No, Abbots, DeSantis and more Republican governors will send these people back.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

No, Abbots, DeSantis and more Republican governors will send these people back.

Send them where? To Washington is ‘back’?

A rules-based order, a society built on laws, equality of opportunity in the economy are clearly empty words.

Flaunt the law, if you have sufficient capital you can pay a nominal fine and carry on.

Basing a society and economy upon such a system is a flaw that the US must address and will not be solved by busing migrants nor building a border wall.

The duopoly will exploit this to score political partisan points and keep themselves in power.

The people on board included young children. Some were wearing T-shirts despite temperatures hovering around 15 degrees Fahrenheit (-9 degrees Celsius). It was the coldest Christmas Eve on record for Washington, according to the Washington Post.

Ah yes, here we have an excellent example of the Christian spirit of giving in MAGA-world...sending children out into sub-zero weather....how compassionate...

Gov. Greg Abbott's office did not respond to a request for comment Sunday morning. His office said last week that Texas has given bus rides to more than 15,000 people since April to Washington, New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia.

Abbott, so embarrassed at this sin he did on Christmas Eve, won't even admit it...

Evangelicals and other so-called Christians need to look long and hard in the mirror - is this what the Bible says how to treat the poor and the hungry?

Send them where? To Washington is ‘back’?

Washington or back to where they came from.

A rules-based order, a society built on laws, equality of opportunity in the economy are clearly empty words.

As long as it’s done legally.

Flaunt the law, if you have sufficient capital you can pay a nominal fine and carry on.

So breaking the rules and screwing the people that followed the rules and laws are grounds to punish those people? Why?

Basing a society and economy upon such a system is a flaw that the US must address and will not be solved by busing migrants nor building a border wall.

It would be solved in you had a wall and enforced border security. After J6 the WH erected a fence to keep people out and put the National Guard around it, it worked.

The duopoly will exploit this to score political partisan points and keep themselves in power.

That goes without saying, but this is not helping Americans, not one bit, quite the opposite.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Send them where? To Washington is ‘back’?

Washington or back to where they came from.

Send them to Washington? Surely that is the opposite of deportation. Wouldn’t that be just exacerbating the issue as a meaning less and cruel political stunt?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

After J6 the WH erected a fence to keep people out and put the National Guard around it, it worked.

Which do you imagine is longer?

The perimeter of the White House or the border along the 3rd largest continent in the world?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Send them to Washington? Surely that is the opposite of deportation. Wouldn’t that be just exacerbating the issue as a meaning less and cruel political stunt?

You can flip that argument around saying the same thing when this administration and liberal State governors send these migrants to red states, which is cruel, illegal and deceptive.

Which do you imagine is longer?

The perimeter of the White House or the border along the 3rd largest continent in the world?

The fact that the WH built it to “keep people out, it worked.”

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Ok. Let’s try another question, maybe you’ll try answering it.

How much do you imagine a fence along the whole border guarded by the National Guard 24/7 would cost? Have a rough guess.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Less than what we already donated to protect Ukraine’s border.

why cant we protect our own?

no other country would accept this nonsense of 250,000 non refugee illegals per month.?

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

Less than what we already donated to protect Ukraine’s border.

You don’t know that.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Actually I do know.

I have a thing called a calculator that helps do another thing called mathematics.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Regardless of political leanings and opinions on border control - this was a political stunt fraught with danger.

People's lives were put at risk - how many accidents happened over the recent days of terrible weather?

A tragic bus crash would not have been out of the question.

No - Abbott doesn't care.

Sending people 1,000s of miles across the country at Xmas in frigid conditions shows Abbotts true heart.

Squeeze any element of political gain out of an incident and stuff the suffering that it causes.

A Good Christian???

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I'm often confronted with the phrase "What would Jesus do" by our Evangelical far-right friends...

So, let me ask in return; turning out poor, hungry, asylum seekers fleeing a despotic government in Venezuela into 15 degree weather clad only in T shirts....including children...on Christmas Eve....

So, would Jesus have done that?

6 ( +8 / -2 )

And this is Joe Biden’s failed border. No wonder, he has never been there. Ever.

”Genba” is how you solve problems.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Regardless of political leanings and opinions on border control - this was a political stunt fraught with danger.

No one told this administration to completely open the borders and allow everyone to come in, this President made this choice, he knew the dangers that would befall the nation and these people by allowing this to happen.

People's lives were put at risk - how many accidents happened over the recent days of terrible weather?

Yes, and now with this weather getting worse how many people you think might or could die?

A tragic bus crash would not have been out of the question.

No - Abbott doesn't care.

Neither does this WH or the people that live along the border.

Sending people 1,000s of miles across the country at Xmas in frigid conditions shows Abbotts true heart.

It shows the true heart of the Mexican government and this White House for allowing it to happen. Question: why doesn’t the elite Hollywood crowd take them in? Why won’t Newsom or Hobbs put these people and take as many in their neighborhoods? They have the space and more importantly, they have the money and resources. They could do something humane. Where is Cher, Ellen, Oprah or Whoopi? Tim Cook, Bill Gates? George Soros definitely could take these people in, many of them. Why won’t they? Where is their humanity as powerful as these people are?

Squeeze any element of political gain out of an incident and stuff the suffering that it causes.

Like this WH is…

A Good Christian???

Being a Christian has absolutely nothing to do with this. Allowing millions of illegals to enter a sovereign nation overwhelming millions of Americans is nowhere near being a good Christian. It was always about politics for this administration.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

the numbers to plug in are 250,000 illegals per month, around 2.5 million per year.

They cant all be supported by border towns in Texas. so some of them, they get a free bus trip to go see Kamala for Christmas, how wonderful.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

That anyone that calls themselves "Christian" would try to defend sending whole families, including children, out into sub-zero weather, clad only in T-Shirts...provides all you need to know about how "Christian" they really are...

And even harder to believe, these are fellow Christians, fleeing a despotic government that discriminates against their religion...

I asked once before and got zero answers....is this something Jesus would have done?

Are any of the far-right Christians here going to stand up for their faith and condemn this barbarism?

5 ( +7 / -2 )

That anyone that calls themselves "Christian" would try to defend sending whole families, including children, out into sub-zero weather, clad only in T-Shirts...provides all you need to know about how "Christian" they really are...

Again, has nothing to do with being Christian, this was an avoidable crisis. No one told the WH to open the borders and allow for mass migration into the US without vetting whatsoever and then expect the citizens to deal with it or burden them by taking in these people with the minimal resources they have? Then send them to all the people that support this and we will all be quiet.

And even harder to believe, these are fellow Christians, fleeing a despotic government that discriminates against their religion...

Most that come are Christian, the only people that would discriminate against them are the people that hate religion altogether, maybe that’s why so many were turned away and deported when they were sent to Martha’s Vineyard, not even a day…

Are any of the far-right Christians here going to stand up for their faith and condemn this barbarism?

Mocking religion is not and will not help the situation or give anyone a guilty conscience.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

That anyone that calls themselves "Christian" would try to defend sending whole families, including children, out into sub-zero weather, clad only in T-Shirts...provides all you need to know about how "Christian" they really are...

Again, has nothing to do with being Christian,

How can someone who calls themselves "Christian" not criticize turning out fellow Christian families out into the cold?

Would Jesus have done that?

And even harder to believe, these are fellow Christians, fleeing a despotic government that discriminates against their religion...

Most that come are Christian,

Then why are you and your fellow far-right Christians not helping these who share your faith? Why are you defending sending them out into sub-zero weather only in T-Shirts?

Would Jesus have done that?

Are any of the far-right Christians here going to stand up for their faith and condemn this barbarism?

Mocking religion is not and will not help the situation or give anyone a guilty conscience.

Once again, are you going to stand up for your Christian values and condemn this terrible treatment of fellow Christians? On Christmas Eve no less?

"This image provided by WJLA shows migrant families as they get on to a bus to transport them from near the Vice President's residence to an area church after they arrived in Washington, Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022. "

an area CHURCH in case you cant see well.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Are any of the far-right Christians here going to stand up for their faith and condemn this barbarism?

@lincolnman- Evangelical Christianity that supports rightward movements in the US, Europe and Latin America believes Jesus was a blond evangelist of a prosperity gospel whom if you believe in enough will make that investment balance grow.

Helping those in need on Christmas would be incentivizing their laziness and encouraging socialism .

The immigrants need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and depose the governments in their countries and install right wing authoritarians who will install sound market principles in their economies and open up their nations to more venture capital investment to stimulate job creation.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

How can someone who calls themselves "Christian" not criticize turning out fellow Christian families out into the cold?

Millions, Biden and Harris are Christians, they have the resources.

Then why are you and your fellow far-right Christians not helping these who share your faith?

Why not the Atheists that push for this?

Once again, are you going to stand up for your Christian values

Yes, I think protecting your own family from an unsecured border is the proper Christian thing to do, especially now during this season.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

the people in need appeared at Kamala Harris house.

A Christmas Eve opportunity to show love and charity for her and her family.

Did she do anything for them in their time of need? Did she even come outside and greet and welcome them? or was it too cold out?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Schmucks like Abbott and DeSantis are CINOs: Christian in name only. Anyone who sends people out into frigid temperatures on purpose, for whatever political or policy reason, is worse than un-Christian. They’re monstrous.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

How can someone who calls themselves "Christian" not criticize turning out fellow Christian families out into the cold?

Millions, Biden and Harris are Christians, they have the resources.

The question was for you - how can someone who calls themselves Christian turn out fellow Christians, including children, into the cold?

Then why are you and your fellow far-right Christians not helping these who share your faith?

Why not the Atheists that push for this?

Why are you not helping your fellow Christians? That's what the Bible says to do.

Once again, are you going to stand up for your Christian values

Yes, I think protecting your own family from an unsecured border is the proper Christian thing to do, especially now during this season.

So you don't believe in the Christian values of helping, feeding, and sheltering the poor. OK, just don't be a hypocrite and call yourself Christian if you don't believe in the Bible.

And once more after four times, would Jesus have turned these fellow Christians out into the cold? Yes or no...

Moving immigrants and refugees from one state to another is human trafficking.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

oh really? Someone better tell the big guy, cause its just routine for him.

Biden’s ‘Secret’ Flights of Migrants Debunked as a Routine Part of the US Immigration System

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

And even though DHS has never provided public notice of such flights before they occur, they are hardly a secret; the agency will readily acknowledge the flights and explain their destination and purpose when asked.

yeah, so if I ask you about something I would have no way to know about because you dont tell me, THEN you will explain your actions? how convenient.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

The cruelty is the point. Abbott knows full well that this stunt will neither alleviate the border crisis nor put political pressure on the Biden admin. But it plays well to the MAGA base, who love nothing more than a mean politician. That’s why they love Trump so much.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Come on people, it's the day after Christmas, let's show a little Christian compassion and concern...

Texas Gov Greg Abbott put a group of Christian asylum seekers in T-Shirts fleeing a tyrannical anti-religion government on a bus for a 15 hour journey to a place where the temperature is below freezing...

He did this to Christian families with children...

He didn't take them to a shelter there in Texas, he didn't feed them and he didn't cloth them....as the Bible says he should have done...

He turned out fellow Christian families in need out into the cold...on CHRISTMAS EVE...

So once again tell us, was that the Christian thing to do? Would Jesus approve?
