The left is out to lunch on this issue.

Yes, they are, All politics, all for votes, that's it.

If half of the country is party of the left and the vast majority of Americans oppose this, then a lot of the left also support this. You should try not contradicting yourself in the same post.

Yeah, you sadly messed up on that one. The majority of Americans don’t approve biological born men competing in women’s sports. This is just getting crazier by the day. California has completely lost it and the more they push this, the less people will engage, participate or even watch sports. The left is literally ruining everything in this country.

This is irrelevant to Burning Bush’s logic failure.

Nice deflection.

You’re in Japan.

But I’m American that still owns property there and still legally votes there. Again, this is a stupid move by California and they don’t have the right to bully people into making them believe in something most people don’t and won’t and now watch those dissenting voices get louder.

No, the left people who could he counted on to tell the crazy far left portion to stop- won’t do that anymore.

they are scared to death of violence and being cancelled if they speak out.

so the reasonable 40% of the left that loves America still lets the 10% that hates it speak on their behalf while remaining quiet.

Also I would be happy if California government officials didn’t travel to my state. So this is a good thing.

stay home.

I don't support LGBTQI or whatever alphabets "they" want to tag on. Needless to say, I'm glad I left that looney bin, CA. years ago.

As a Californian maybe I don't want my tax money going to these backwards states and don't want my government officials traveling there. I have no use for about half the states in the US and consider them boat anchors on what California could be if it wasn't tied down by right wing backwardness in DC.

“Make no mistake: We’re in the midst of an unprecedented wave of bigotry and discrimination in this country — and the State of California is not going to support it,” Bonta said.

Cannot disagree with that.

Why are these privileged grown men(at least physically) so afraid of the minorities?

Progress is something you cannot stop, it took close to 100 years after the civil war to end segregation so it might take a few more years to drive this bigots to sense. But it will happen and the sorry old men who enforce these discriminatory rules will slink off licking their wounds!!!

UCLA is a public university. Are they banning its academics from attending conferences or researching at libraries in other states? Are they banning doctors at public hospitals from attending conferences on Covid?

Are they going to judge the politics of other nations too, and stop them from travelling there?

These bans are intrusive and abusive overreach into peoples' lives and professional careers. Grown ups live and work amongst and with people they disagree with politically. They don't 'build a wall' in this manner.

It’s just political theater. Like when the Michigan governor and staff secretly traveled to Florida during pandemic.

‘United States”? Seems less and less a real thing by the month. Seems unlikely that the issue of trans teenagers doing sport as the gender they identify as is a pressing civil rights issue for the majority of people. Newsom and the Cali Dems making this an issue to distract from the mess they have made of their state

I don't think this is the way to make a statement. If every state does this the country will be divided along political lines with no travel between the two camps. Inclusivitiy and diversity means respectfully engaging with those you disagree with not discriminating against them.

Nice to see liberal California respecting diversity of opinion in other states.....or not.

Yet another pointless virtue signalling gesture, which will actually have zero impact on the lives of Californians. State politicians like this numpty need to stay in their lane. Improve life for the people in your state and mind your own damn business. California has more than enough problems that need to be solved without trying to import more.

and the only reason it is that low is because Democrats were involved in the survey too.

of course they would be for this.

Among party, gender and age subgroups, only Democrats (55%) express majority support for transgender athletes' ability to play on teams matching their gender identity.

To be clear: they link does not support the contention that ”[t]he vast majority of Americans are against biological men competing against girls.”

Try again, supporting women and women’s sports doesn’t mean you are transphobic, make a separate category for them, most Americans would support it, not currently, if you care about women (obvious liberals don’t) then you would listen to women in competitive sports worldwide speaking out against it and again and just like with the open border. I could care less what a Washington hack thinks or wants to indoctrinate people with, the point is that are physically and anatomically not the same and that applies to a biological born male, to be clear.

*However, the degree to which biological sex affects athletic performance remains a matter of debate in the scientific and medical communities. **There are also numerous factors — such as whether the athlete is in the process of transitioning; whether they’re taking hormone blockers or supplemental testosterone, and the like — which further complicates the issue.*

You are still biologically a man, I figured that out in the 5th grade.

I don't support the sports angle. You can be what you feel but it doesn't change a physical advantage in sports. That should ge based on your birth.

Also, adding in that part gives something for conservatives to latch onto. The article talks about various kinds of discrimination but it's been dumbed down to sports for the GOP masses so they can ignore discrimination in other areas by focusing just on the silly sports angle.

There are numerous examples to show that, at higher levels, men are simply going to outperform women. That isn't a knock on women's athletics in the least, it is just biology.

eg 1. A male tennis player ranked in the 200s beats BOTH Williams sisters back to back in tennis. After he played a round of golf and had a few adult beverages. And he 'held back' to make it competitive.

eg 2. Transgender MMA fighter Fallon Fox at age 45 broke the skull of her opponent and gave her a concussion in 2 minutes. Her opponent said, "I’ve fought a lot of women and have never felt the strength that I felt in a fight as I did that night. I can’t answer whether it’s because she was born a man or not because I’m not a doctor. I can only say, I’ve never felt so overpowered ever in my life and I am an abnormally strong female in my own right. Her grip was different, I could usually move around in the clinch against other females but couldn’t move at all in Fox’s clinch."

It only remains “a matter of debate” because the far left won’t accept “science”.
