Bass4Funk, et. al. need to visit places in California like OC, Inyo County, Imperial County and San Diego Country. There are millions of people that are Independent and even conservative in those places.

It's feared that holiday gatherings could fuel yet another rise in cases.

As the death tolls mount and economies further weaken pandemic deniers and those downplaying the seriousness of this virus continue to try to influence the more easily duped portion of populations everywhere.

Those spreading 'it's just another flu' messages need to take responsibility for the ongoing problems - alongside politicians and government officials at all levels who've bungled their responses to it.

The state is overwhelming Progressive

If people have never been to California, a state as diverse in every way possible, one which includes large numbers of individuals and groups with beliefs running the entire political perspective, and only read headlines in OAN, RT, and other right wing extremist publications they might think that's the case. But they'd be wrong.

Trump claimed "we are rounding the corner!"

Yeah we are 'rounding a corner', alright. In 19 days the Trumpian reign of (t)error will end. Hallelujah!

But hey, Californians get what they vote for.

Basically celebrating the deaths and sadness.

Nice.

They can’t. They are enjoying this. We just have to remember who those people were when this is over.

California is a mixed bag. The one thing about it is that for the most part, the people there get along with each fine. They learn to live with each other.

BION there is a colony of Nazi filth in the Bay Area. One such member was caught on a (funny) viral video distributing Nazi leaflets and he was put in his place by a Jewish bystander!

People who criticize and pan California as the 'Cereal State' ('fruits, nuts, flakes') have not been there and therefore have NO RIGHT to make such moronic jokes about it.

even conservative in those places.

Ever read the lyrics of the 1996 Rage Against The Machine CD 'Evil Empire'? There are referrences there to then-Gov. Pete Wilson and his xenophobic policies.

@PTownsend, you are very knowledgeable about American right-wing news publications. I've heard about OAN but what is "RT"?

Also, how is it that a socialist state is having trouble providing health care to its people?

There are no socialist states in the US. Unfortunately.

Now, looking at the statistics site that you did, I see that on "death rate" is lead with an astronomical margin by by New Jersey, followed by New York and Massachusetts. Texas is way down the list on place 27.

The only stats that matter to some people are those that provide a political advantage. The main issue is that Progressive/ Socialists keep telling people they disdain to follow their expert advice. The problem is their advice isn’t effective or else the places where their advice is most frequently adhered to would not be as bad or worse than the places inhabited by their enemies.

"California infections are 2.4 million, 600,000 more than Texas."

"Infections" are irrelevant, and nobody knows them, anyway.

Gov Newsome is failing his state. None of his dictates are working and he refuses to practice what he preaches. The state is overwhelming Progressive- why can’t he get the people to obey? Let’s not forget what he has done.

Rate of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the United States as of December 22, 2020, by state (per 100,000 people)

California 4487

Texas 5536

As I am gradually getting tired of repeating, "cases" means nothing, as "cases" simply reflects the number of tests. Most "cases" have few symptoms and no problems, What does reflect the virus impact is the death rate.

Now, looking at the statistics site that you did, I see that on "death rate" is lead with an astronomical margin by by New Jersey, followed by New York and Massachusetts. Texas is way down the list on place 27.

How aboout using that table for your political talking point?

Isn´t California the state with the strictest lockdowns and mask rules? What happened to the endless chant that lockdowns and masks would solve everything?

So now it's California vs Texas, the misplaced hatred is simply amazing.

California infections are 2.4 million, 600,000 more than Texas. The government is veto proof Progressive/ Socialist. There is no reason why a state whose leaders say they believe in the science and who having centralized control over small businesses and individuals should have such a poor result compare to Texas whose leaders are not infringing on their citizens Constitutional liberties. Also, how is it that a socialist state is having trouble providing health care to its people? It’s so bad that funeral homes cannot accommodate the carnage.

@Toasted: Basically celebrating the deaths and sadness.

I don’t understand the rationale of condemning someone for validating the people’s choice for Progressive government. There are both rights and responsibilities. States like Texas who base their governance in American constitutionalist principles trust individuals to exercise their rights and responsibilities. States like California who put their trust in Leftist ideology to manage the lives of their citizens assume the responsibilities for the poor outcomes. California, New York, Illinois, and others are rolling disasters.

California does not have the highest death rate per 100,000 people. The rate in Texas is much higher.

So now it's California vs Texas, the misplaced hatred is simply amazing.

Why not take up war time status and start proudly burying at sea like the US Navy?
