Carlin said Marquez, 24, is also charged with a firearms violation for making a “straw purchase” of weapons for Farook.

Thank goodness those common sense gun regulations work so well in the States.

Meanwhile, Congress is set to, once again, ban any sort of tracking or research into gun violence in America.

Because figuring out how our dead citizens got killed was "socialism," or something.

"In 1996, Rep. Jay Dickey, an Arkansas Republican and the NRA’s point man in Congress, engineered an effort to cut $2.6 million from its budget—exactly the amount it had spent on gun violence research the previous year. (The funding was later restored by the Senate, but earmarked for traumatic brain injury, ensuring it couldn’t be used for gun violence work.)"

"It’s not just the CDC that’s been hamstrung by the gun lobby. In 2003, Rep. Todd Tiahrt, a Kansas Republican, inserted an amendment into the law funding the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, restricting its ability to release firearms trace data."

Be clear: There is a reason for gun violence and the NRA says Americans in America will not be allowed to research the causes and the GOP has made that law.

Asked when the shooting news was breaking to be woken up if the shooters turned out not to be white and was thumbed down - guess people didn't understand. See, if they HAD been white, Mr. Marquez would simply be facing a misdemeanor charge of unlicensed weapons transfer. Now he's looking at life for abetting terrorism. Lesson: Choose the beneficiaries of your straw purchases carefully.

Lesson: Choose the beneficiaries of your straw purchases carefully.

Or the conditions of gun purchase and ownership. Not that anyone in the States should do that.

Interestingly, eyewitnesses claim that three tall white men did the shooting. These two were killed a few miles from the shooting, several hours later, after receiving a "tip".

Enrique Marquez. Oh, the poor GOP gun nuts. They hate Mexicans. But they love them their guns more.

What is strange the violent gun death have been declining yet the gun sales in the the last several years have been increasing. Which suggests to me more guns are not killing people. In a nation which a citizen can own a full auto assault rifle with a stricter backround check full ago weapons are nearly ever used in any crime. this tells me it's time to step up "effective" backround checks. The federal government often is very ineffective and there lies a problem.

The NRA has been pushing for just this solution and has complained bitterly that the Congress hasn't listened or acted on their strident warnings.

We Americans insist on learning about guns the hard way. It will never end because some people think the second amendment is sacred.

The US would just look too hypocritical selling arms to the world, but not their own citizens. And if you think it's just the NRA, you are blind since Hillary sits on top of the donor list from the defense industry at $95,000. Furthermore, the Obama treasury department will not release ANY information from the Belgian-based international payments company, SWIFT, about the Paris attackers. It seems some of the guns might have come from Florida and probably a CIA/Mossad/Daesh asset.

We've come a long way from "spontaneous workplace violence" and I wonder what else we're going to find. Did you know that the Homeland Security Department/Agency employees 250,000 people and has a budget of over $50 billion to stop people just like this (and they can't do it)?

he and Farook made plans to attack the library or cafeteria at Riverside Community College He and Farook also planned to attack a state highway during rush hour with pipe bombs and shoot at law enforcement and emergency crews as they arrived.

These guys were wimps. They planned this & that but it took a real "devoted" islamic bride from some cave in Pakistan to pursued Farook into carrying out an act of terrorism. We all know who wore the "pants" in that relationship.

Marquez, who had checked himself into a Los Angeles-area psychiatric facility shortly after the shootings

What a wimp! I hope they throw the book at him.

MarkG: "Which suggests to me more guns are not killing people."

I think the "which suggests to me" is the key part of your comment, because only YOU believe that. You want proof that guns are the problem, look at how many guns they have to the north of your shameful country (when it comes to guns) and how many gun deaths. Better yet, look at how much Australia's gun deaths went down when the guns were taken away. THAT is solid proof, in both cases. Your belief is just fanciful thinking at its worst, and outright denial.

Gun buyers are good gun buyers until they become bad. But by that time, they already bought the guns, and it's too late. Ya can't really tell which good gun buyers will become bad some time down the road, but they had access to all the guns when they were good.

Unless they have an extensive history of felonies in various jurisdictions, or mental infirmities, or punch up the wife once in a while because she won't shut her trap.

But that isn't important to public safety.

The Second Amendment is.

And that Amendment, ratified on December 17, 1791, reflecting the experience and technology of that day, 224 years ago, has been used to slaughter thousands and shield the reckless and profit the thirst for blood of the gun industry, in contradiction of the first sentence of the US Constitution in its intent.

So, buying a gun makes you a good guy and that's the important part since the Supreme Court has already dismissed the part about the mulita because that's just so old fashioned. On the happy anniversary of this license to kill, raise a glass an empty a clip for freedom.

The shooter was an American. That is an FBI problem. And an NRA problem.

Finally, Homeland Security stops people like his wife all the time. You seem to think 100% security is possible.

It aint. So, Stop being a hysteric. Your garment rendering hysteria does not justify more restrictions on my liberty. America is about freedom, you pearl-clutcher, not security!

I'm sure gun supporters in Congress will be rolling out a mental health package very soon since that's what they attribute the problem to.
