Sounds like NK is already regretting its decision

Could Trump just be prematurely trumpeting the possible meeting in an attempt to take attention away from Mueller's ongoing investigations of his alleged collusion with Russians and alleged global criminal dealings, plus take attention away from the numerous reports of alleged sexual improprieties, and of course the reported chaos of his White House, among other things.

After all, he's a reality TV star who's long been a media darling, someone who knows how to manipulate news stories to make him look good.

Probably just figuring out where, when and how to do this and to meet on neutral ground. Takes time.

ALL you people living outside of North Korea were round the clock dreamers!  Dreaming a summit with them !

It will be interesting to see how both propaganda machines spin this, in their respective countries.

The DPRK will certainly have some kind of genius take on it as being some kind of victory, although I imagine its beleaguered citizens will take whatever is said with a pinch of salt. Even though Orwell's 1984 is banned there, they might be scratching their collective heads at the about turn from Kim. Quiet and furtive scratching, natch.

No need for him to do that. Nobody takes that stuff seriously, there is nothing to take attention away from.

I think the reason the North Koreans haven’t been saying anything is because they are still in shock that Trump would actually agree to meet with Kim. Not even Obama was dumb enough to do that - and he got talked into sending pallets loaded with billions in cash to the Iranians.

NK is cautious on SK real motivation. It does not know. if SK is trying to control NK after unification.

Nuclear Bombing practice was done toward Japan. Not near USA. It will be cautious in case. Japan and China become friendlier and ignore Trump and SK.

Trump just fired Tillerson, posed CIA chief as Secretary of State. NK is wise not jumping to SK plan. China, Russia and. Japan are cautious. But nutreal zone seems to be DMZ in Korea, not Japan.

Kim is probably trying to figure out how to back out
