....test negative for COVID-19 within three days ...

How much do they charge for this testing und for the certificate?

Curious that “proof of vaccination” isn’t sufficient.

so what’s the difference between vaccinated with negative test and unvaccinated with negative test?

If you don’t want to get vaccinated, don’t whine, bitch and moan about the consequences of your choice; be responsible and live with those consequences.

Vaccinated can get into Canada.

The difference is that the vaccination is for free, but this negative certificate costs money, a big business for any medical clinic.

Vaccinated or not, it's really only about money, same everywhere. Here in Japan if you need to travel overseas to certain countries, such a medical certificate will cost you around yen 35000,- to 44.000,- - totally over priced of course.

I wonder really how much will such clinics charge in the US, when crossing the border to Canada.

Maybe not a cheap trip if you come with your family...

U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents must be both fully vaccinated and test negative for COVID-19 within three days

Vaccinated with a negative test. Which means the vaccine itself is not trusted as being enough.

Nor is the test trusted or else an unvaccinated person with a negative test could also enter.

so politics? Good ole Joe has also not reciprocated wonder why not?

Vaccinated can get into Canada.

Also Pfizer said their vaccine only 84% good after 6 months. Moderna claiming 90%. It’s close to being 6 months for some people.

revaccination? Booster and mask and daily test?

Both vaccinated and unvaccinated can still spread the infection. We already know this yet you keep repeating it. The difference is the severity of the illness and as Bradley alludes to quite correctly, vaccinated are less likely to require hospitalization and take it away from Canadians who also might need to be hospitalized for whatever reason. Unvaccinated are more of a risk.

the United States is keeping similar restrictions in place for Canadians

Of course. No votes to be gotten there. But people slipping in across the southern border, without any proof of vaccination or COVID-negative status at all? No problem.

They'll get put on a path to citizenship AND be allowed to vote (vote Democrat, of course) in an upcoming election.

Not in that order, either.

As a proud Canadian all I can say is Build that wall, Build that Wall!!

haha, all kidding aside. It needs to happen, just hope it all works out. We need the border open!

You just have zero evidence of this. Convenient.

Meanwhile the northern border of the USA is also not safe.

As far as returning to the United States from Canada, U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman Jason Givens said there's no requirement to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.

Of course it isn’t. The Deep State wants Canadians in the US to inflate democratic voters.

What outrages me the most about this is how it affects my six multi billion dollar companies. This requirement means I’ll have to take even more PCR tests to be able to keep my businesses running. By the way, my businesses haven’t been financially impacted by COVID, but somehow my employees’ income has dropped.

dont know how that relates to this topic, but thanks for sharing, I guess...?

Why not donate those unwanted AZ vaccines to countries badly in need?

hilarious. And I thought it was to improve the ice hockey team.

The AstraZeneca vaccine works as the rapidly falling rates in the UK show and the doom and gloomsters predictions fell completely flat.

It is strange that AstraZeneca is not being used but rejected.

If it were not so, then many countries might be following the UK out of Lockdowns

There are people who are rejecting medical help by refusing the vaccine without a good medical reason. After a set time span I can't see why countries should not refuse them medical treatment or maybe better, at least charge the extra fee for treatment against what the cost of the vaccine would have been. The thought of pain in the wallet is a wonderful persuader.

Canada is taking a huge risk here. Infections are on the rise in the US due to the biden administrations very confusing messages to the public on safety guidelines. I also find it telling that there are still restrictions on Canadians although they are allowing US travelers into their country. The US is encouraging illegal entries across the southern border and these have reached levels not seen in decades. biden isn’t testing and quarantining 100% of these individuals before busing and flying them to all parts of the country. There can be little doubt that this policy is contributing to the current wave of viral misery.

Canada has aimed for a balanced response through their pandemic. They have protected their people as best they could through various levels of lockdown measures based on local data as it evolved, while also allowing businesses to open in manners that limited the spread of infection. As usual, Canada was a country not of extremes, but rather data-driven rational response.

Which is what they are doing now as well. Their country has one of the highest vaccination rates on the planet, so they are letting through visitors who can show they are both vaccinated, so that if they do catch it without being detected, they won't spread it as much, and also testing them before entry to ensure they don't have it at at the time of entry.

Canada truly is a respectable nation that provides a rational model of thinking for the rest of the world. They have proven it throughout their history, and their pandemic response, and method of re-opening, is just another example of their balanced and progressive thinking.

Guess I'm not going to Canada ever again lol

That's basically the point. I think they will be happy to read such comments, to know that their policies are achieving their intended outcomes.

CoVid knows no national boundaries.

Canada has been doing a good job of keeping a lid on the virus. Yet even recently a huge cocaine bust was made in Montana, coming in straight from Alberta. Yet no one is talking about a wall there, are they? Bluh!

It never ceases to disgust me just how so many people fell for that racist 'Mexican border crisis' crap.
