What a sick dude. I wonder where the 'blame' should be placed here, on society? Something must have made him psycho.

Second degree murder? Is that above or below first degree murder in the 'bad' scale? (Sorry I am confused)

This dreadfully deranged person is deranged beyond recall. This inhuman act is proof of him no longer living in realty. Prison will do nothing in the way of rehabilitation, and a solution if any rests with the people trained in psychiatry. He without doubt- will be institutionalized in an institution for the criminally insane. May god have mercy on both their souls.

Canada just gets scarier.

"Something must have made him psycho"

Yeah, it's all society's fault.

Second degeree murder is not as strong as first degree. Fact is a good chance he will only be charged with manslaughter & then even less due to a mental probelm at the time.

I know some of the Cdn media claimed he was eating parts of the young man he butchered to death, but we all know that the media can get way off line & tend to stretch things so their paper & their colume is read.

This guy is indeed sick... but methinks he's heading for some kind of mentally impaired charge, and an insane asylum -- he seems to have ensured that with his actions.

Sheeesh... he must have had a terrible interview in Winnipeg.

"He was very punctual and always cleanly dressed. He was a very nice, polite guy."

They're the ones to watch out for.

Watching Zorro?

WTF?

Time to ban scissors.

What type of interview did he go to that he needed a big knife or for that matter scissors?

I suppose living in Canada would drive anybody to murder, the biggest sleepy little country in the world.

It isn't really a badness scale.

First Degree means that the homicide was premeditated (planned in advance). Second Degree simply means that the homicide wasn't premeditated. Manslaughter is when the homicide is a result of another activity (like running a red light). He will not be charged with manslaughter. Due to the nature of the crime he may very well be declared a "Dangerous Offender" which would mean that he'd be sent to jail indefinitely (if convicted).

He needs to be locked up and studied. At this point the crime is done and you can't undo it, but maybe you can learn something from him that will help people spot the next guy who has the potential to do this.

Canada has lost her way. Collective national self-analysis is the only answer.

immigrants are always hard to deal with and some cultures still eat human. I will be expecting the Paris riots soon also = the summer heat is on.

A note on Greyhound: They stop at every little town = what you would expect to be a 2hr ride could easily be 10 (much worse in Canada + in the countryside) And of course we only are hearing one side of the story here. =this man could have actually been that hungry.

This man is criminally insane, that is for sure.
