The "campaign" so far has included something about puffins and greens. The place is turning into a joke, you knew the election was coming cuz the PM took a trip to the Arctic to make a show of fighting Ruskies. http://theendisalwaysnear.blogspot.com/2008/08/great-white-north.html

As people go futher to the left or right extremes, you can see the IQ points drop and conversations turn into the equivalent of five year olds fighting over a toy.

Yep. We've actually reached the point where people will fight against something they support or they won't fight against something they don't support if they think it will help their side or hurt the other side. People will sell out their own personal ideals as long as it helps their party.

If Harper gets what he wants then all of the very vocal Canadian posters here will be endlessly criticizing their own government.

If you go to cbc.ca, you can see people endlessly criticizing/praising the harper government already. The sad thing is, politics in Canada has become increasingly polarized much like it has the US. As people go futher to the left or right extremes, you can see the IQ points drop and conversations turn into the equivalent of five year olds fighting over a toy. The near future for Canada's political system is not to bright.

That's true, my friend. If said posters DON'T criticise harper's "government" it means they will just be happy to be enabling bush and mccain.

Hahahahahahaha! Tooo funny!

Great. The whole country of Canadia is watching the american elections.I guess the conservatives think they can pull a fast one and with stealth impose their fascist junta on the people. No wonder it gets called the 51st state.

The terms of John G. Diefenbaker and John F. Kennedy overlapped. Though Dief was a populist conservative.

That would be funny, if Harper and Obama won. Canada would have a more conservative leader. Wonder if that's happened before?
