From one of my fav oz journo:
"Police clarify the driver is a 32 year old man. Say he has a history of drug use and mental health issues. An Australian of Afghan descent. Police say they have no evidence to suggest incident was terror-related, and they continue to investigate"

We were talking about going to CBD for Christmas shopping today but I canceled it in the last minutes because I was felling fatigued and dizzy. I hope everyone will recover soon. No one has died until now in that attack as TV news..

I know nothing besides that a car hit people and 2 were arrested in the spot.
Waiting for news to 'know' more, no torches, pitchforks nor lynchmobs this end.
Hope everybody especially the little boy recover soon.

"Police said the driver was a 32-year-old Australian citizen of Afghan decent who has a known history of drug use and mental health issues."
Color us surprised.

Indeed, a history of untreated mental health issues seems like a common thread in terrorist attacks.

There are already concrete diversity barriers set up all over Melbourne to protect pedestrians from vehicular attacks, so much so that the supplier ran out of stock earlier this year.

I hope that was tongue-in-cheek... Australia are NOT treating this as a terrorist attack.
