ome Republican-controlled states may try to leave college students out of redistricting data, claiming they were also counted at their parents’ homes, to get a partisan edge

IIt should surprise no one that the GQOP, the party of Trump, Ted Cruz and so many others among some of the most dishonest politicians in US history people for whom telling the truth is a sign of weakness, are lying again to get partisan edge

In addition to making it more difficult for people to vote. Trump and his extreme right QGOP and others that despise democracy continue whittling away at the bits of democracy the US has remaining.

They say the Trump administration's attempt to end the count early and failed efforts to put a citizenship question on the form and exclude people who were in the U.S. illegally had a chilling effect.

This. When the horns of govt. were exposed and clear to be seen, you don't want to unnecessarily expose yourself and make yourself an easy target by giving the govt., information that you don't really need to give.

The govt. has been shown by Trump to be malicious and it'll take very long time to feel any sense of "us" between the people and the govt. again.

and can even vote by mail

Trump says no to this since he lost due to fraudulent mail votes. That is why he refused to leave and Trump people invaded the WH and wanted to hang Pence and hunt for Nancy.

There are many valid reasons deterring individuals from giving out information to the government, but people's reluctance to answer the government's questions no doubt also stems from that peculiar streak of American individualism that fosters a strong desire for privacy, already noted by de Tocqueville on his travels around 19th century America. The negative reaction to the government census probably constitutes inevitable blowback against the spirit of 1984 that is becoming a menacing reality in the "out of control" surveillance society of Amerika.

 they want more illegals

Why?

Rupert Murdoch's Tucker Carlson says it's because the D's want to replace White people. But as Murdoch's own lawyers and the courts have said: Reasonable people are not supposed to take Tucker literally. Still Murdoch and his crews know Trump's QGOP supporters easily believe and then parrot lies of all sorts. Murdoch joins Trump, Russian and Chinese misinformation spreaders in their ongoing attempts to further weaken the US.

Then white people need to have another baby boom. White people are having themselves replaced since their birthrate is low. Trump people follow Tucker like Jesus

His lawyers are getting paid to represent their client on whatever he needs regarding legal representation, they are not journalists, their expertise is the law and they don’t have a platform other than being a legal counsel, so no one is going to listen to any of these people that don’t know the world works?

You're misunderstaning what he meant.

"Reasonable people are not supposed to take Tucker literally" is what the legal defense team used as an actual argument in court. Meaning that they concerted with Tucker Carlson and he approved that defense. It's not an opinion, it's their legal argument. And it worked, since the judge agreed with it:

She wrote: "Fox persuasively argues, that given Mr. Carlson's reputation, any reasonable viewer 'arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism' about the statement he makes."

Vyskocil, an appointee of President Trump's, added, "Whether the Court frames Mr. Carlson's statements as 'exaggeration,' 'non-literal commentary,' or simply bloviating for his audience, the conclusion remains the same — the statements are not actionable."

How would you or anyone else knows what Murdoch believes in?

We still want to know why Dems want more illegals. Why would Dems want more illegals? Why does Tucker keep saying this. It doesn't have any advantage for Dems or anyone.

How would you or anyone else knows what Murdoch believes in?

Entertainment and advertising sales revenue. Especially geriatric goods commercials. That is why Tucker is employed. He's just doing his job, he's good at it, and he gets paid millions.

Trust factor. The huge number of leaks of personal information from 'trusted' sources has surely made people more and more hesitant to give out anything freely.

If the government's intention is to invade too deeply into people's privacy, the respondents to the questionnaire would either refuse to answer or provide dubious answers.

No need to fully trust the outcome of censuses in any country..

To draw district lines, they need to know only the number of people living at an address. Everything else is govt prying. This year, we got a fairly short form (2 pgs?) and I filled it out exact questions I felt were none of their business. I think it was just a few.

I recall getting the long form in the 1990s where they asked for all sorts of personal information, especially about spending. It is none of their business.

Of course, they didn't ask questions like how much health care insurance had risen since the ACA became law and how much higher our deductable is along with how many fewer things are covered which were previously covered pre-ACA.

THAT's the sort of question I want them to ask so they know how screwed up that law was.

The census goes far beyond what it was intended to cover and congress passing more prying laws because they feel there is data to had is something I disagree over. If they want data, buy it from Google like the spy agencies and law enforcement do.

I find the idea that the US is required to accept asylum requests from anyone who gets to a border, without limitations, laughable. Just showing up at a border - that's crazy.

Are you a fan of the new version for the Statue of Liberty? "Lock up your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed not to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door to call ICE!”

Imputation?

So for example, a white person living in a mostly black neighborhood does not fill in race, they will put him down as black because the neighbors said they were?

How do they guess the sex of someone like, Tradindra, Latrina, Pat, etc?

Something sounds very flawed in this approach.

Russian and Chinese misinformation spreaders in their ongoing attempts to further weaken the US.

That’s a completely different story, but especially Xi is loving this.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

You're misunderstaning what he meant.

Not at all.

"Reasonable people are not supposed to take Tucker literally"

Again, this is coming from a legal counsel that has no idea about anything regarding Journalism or the facts, he’s just representing his client and when asked, the man can give his personal opinion in any way he sees fit. It’s a free world.

It's not an opinion,

of course it’s an opinion, if it were not, he would probably be on TV. His job is to represent his client and that’s it.

it's their legal argument. And it worked,

Well, didn’t stop his viewership to continue growing and breaking records and more people subscribing to Fox Nation. The only thing that worked was it brought more curious people to him, Murdoch’s lawyer helped him actually. Lol

Why do the dems want more illegal immigrants?

Simple. They get the redistricting (house seats) shifted to more urban locations and away from more rural places, but don't need to worry about more voters for this generation because they won't be citizens, but their children will.

More house seats == more money == more power. So, Dems are power hungry, just like all politicians from the town Mayor up.

Of course, their narrative is that they are helping people of all economic levels to have better lives. It is never about holding power in their statements. The GOP is all about holding power, even if they have to change the rules.

I find the idea that the US is required to accept asylum requests from anyone who gets to a border, without limitations, laughable. The US immigration system is broke. A limit for total annual immigration needs to happen. Planned immigration following steps from their current location needs to be where things begin. Invitations for people who truly need asylum should be part of the core. Just showing up at a border - that's crazy.

The same way you know what Israeli intelligence knows - they don’t.

They do when it comes to thwarting attacks against the Jewish nation, that’s their job, that is what they are trained to do, seek out and neutralize any potential terror threats. Murdoch’s legal counsel has one interest and one only and that is whatever is in the best interest of his client, nothing more.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

ome Republican-controlled states may try to leave college students out of redistricting data,

The Dems want to include illegals, but don’t want them at the same time to be counted or to elaborate on their legal status.

IIt should surprise no one that the GQOP, the party of Trump, Ted Cruz and so many others among some of the most dishonest politicians in US history people for whom telling the truth is a sign of weakness, are lying again to get partisan edge

In other words, the US shouldn’t worry if illegals are living in the country illegally, who cares what the real numbers are in the end. So Democrats could care less about an accurate count. Now knowing who lives in our own country is bad? Let me guess, it’s racist, right?

In addition to making it more difficult for people to vote.

No, that’s absolutely not true. Any and EVER AMERICAN CITIZEN has the absolute right to vote and can even vote by mail as long as you can provide proof of ID and if you can’t, your last 4 digits of your social will help as well and since all Americans have one, it should be a problem if you don’t have an ID. Now the Dems can’t scream about racism because all of us have a social, showing proof, you can vote by mail, now the system is as fair as it gets.

Trump and his extreme right QGOP and others that despise democracy

No, they want to uphold it and you can’t do that if you have no country, no borders or people cheating and not addressing these issues would indicate the people I’m charge do hate democracy and the rule of law.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

This sentence contradicts itself.

No, it doesn’t, they want more illegals, just don’t include their numbers in the census, makes perfect sense.

But, it does get a dog in at the democrats.

Lol, boy you said it. A few mangy ones.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

of course. This is the liberal response to anything they have trouble with.

“I think it’s the pandemic and Trump.
