Greenland and Denmark appeared cautiously relieved early Wednesday by the news that U.S. Vice President JD Vance and his wife are changing their itinerary for their visit to Greenland Friday, reducing the likelihood that they will cross paths with residents angered by the Trump administration’s attempts to annex the vast Arctic island, a semi-autonomous Danish territory.

Cowards can't even face the people they're trying to annex.

Trump and Vance succumbed to Greenland's demands that they limit their visit to the US base only. Diplomatic crisis avoided.

Good. Who would want this creeper in their backyard?

The 64 dollar question is not will Washington move on Greenland but when.

“What is controversial here is all about the timing,” he said. “Greenland and Denmark have stated very clearly that they don’t want the U.S. to visit right now, when Greenland doesn’t have a government in place," following the election earlier this month. Coalition negotiations are ongoing.

Yes, the timing should be questioned. It's like a foreign minister visiting America right in the middle of their elections and when the votes are still being counted.

Greenland are just finishing their elections and putting their government into place. Now is not to time to visit.

The US is not like Russia invading another country without justification.

Exactly. Only on JT can you find this news story. This administration just started, this is nowhere done, communicated, finished or out of the peripheral.

This administration just started,

What if the people of Greenland object? Should the US just take Greenland by force?

MAGA supporters couldn't care less what the Inuits want. It's what Trump wants.

Please Greenland - just ban the Idiot for entering your country....

Americans would understand - we would like to ban the degenerate from entering here too...

Here's another great example of USA extraterritoriality which you can find all over the world. How sovereign can a country claim to be when subjected to such behavior?

Will USA military follow orders to attack and occupy Greenland? Sadly, likely yes.

Should the US just take Greenland by force?

@bass

Let me repeat my question, since you didn’t give a direct answer:

What if the people of Greenland object? Should the US just take Greenland by force?

USA extraterritoriality

It just occurred to me that this is another way that Trump is trying to legitimize Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. If the good old USA can do it, why not Russia?

Might makes right. The new foreign policy of the U.S. Brought to you by Vladimir Putin.

Trump is his useful corrupt idiot.

The Greenland Prime Minister called the visit aggressive and unwelcome. Trump and Vance are not winning the minds and hearts of the Inuits.

I gave you the answer already.

Regardless of what the media says or does, that will not stop or deter the facts on the ground, whether people want to talk about it or hide it or keep people from talking about it, the negotiations will continue, and as long as Republicans hold the Presidency and Congress this will continue for the next 4 years at least, that is just reality.

Greenland is like a woman trying to avoid going out on a date with an overly aggressive man.
