I am not an American and I am not living in Japan, but I think people should not put all the blame towards Trump.

How about the personal behavior of the American citizens according personal prevention against the Virus?

Did they all doing correctly?

Did they all follow the basic personal prevention? (Wearing Mask, washing hands, keep social distance, use sanitizer....)

I don’t think so!

Yeah, gee, its almost like someone very influential with half the population has been telling them again and again that they didn’t need to take any of this seriously and the virus would just magically disappear on its own, and they have been acting accordingly.

I can’t imagine who that might have been though.

Trump will be voted out in less than three months

Oh man, are you ever going to be disappointed!

OMG you are right. He suggested we try INJECTING Lysol, not swallowing it.

That's a lie. At that press conference, Bill Bryan, head of the Science and Technology Directorate at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said this:

"... our most striking observation to date is the powerful effect that solar light appears to have on killing the virus — both surfaces and in the air....  If you look at the fourth line, you inject summer — the sunlight into that. You inject UV rays into that. The same effects on line two — as 70 to 35 degrees with 80 percent humidity on the surface. And look at line four, but now you inject the sun. The half-life goes from six hours to two minutes. That’s how much of an impact UV rays has on the virus. We’re also testing disinfectants readily available. We’ve tested bleach, we’ve tested isopropyl alcohol on the virus, specifically in saliva or in respiratory fluids. And I can tell you that bleach will kill the virus in five minutes; isopropyl alcohol will kill the virus in 30 seconds, and that’s with no manipulation, no rubbing — just spraying it on and letting it go. You rub it and it goes away even faster. We’re also looking at other disinfectants, specifically looking at the COVID-19 virus in saliva..."

Then Trump said this:

"Thank you very much. So I asked Bill a question that probably some of you are thinking of, if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous — whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light — and I think you said that that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way, and I think you said you’re going to test that too. It sounds interesting... And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that. So, that, you’re going to have to use medical doctors with. But it sounds — it sounds interesting to me. So we’ll see. But the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute, that’s — that’s pretty powerful."

And people actually spin this to say Trump suggested swallowing or injecting Lysol.

Anyone with a brain who watched that whole segment of that press conference would not say such a thing.

Trump is an idiot.

He could have dealt with this public health crisis the right way, and rooted his horn all the way the Election Day. Americans would, as we always do, rally around the flag, accepted the deaths that occurred as tragic but unavoidable, accepted the economic fall out as inevitable , and re elected him by a healthy margin. ‘CAuse he done saved American lives.

bit he didn’t.

Why are we still talking about coronavirus? Didn't it magically disappear in April?

13 ( +13 / -0 )

But Trump, his family, and many of his fellow 'elite' are doing just fine.

Not just "fine", they're RAKING it in:

The Net Worth Of America's 600-Plus Billionaires Has Increased By More Than $400 Billion During The Pandemic: https://www.forbes.com/sites/tommybeer/2020/05/21/the-net-worth-of-americas-600-plus-billionaires-has-increased-by-more-than-400-billion-during-the-pandemic/

Trump and his cronies put together packages that made the rich richer, and left the poor out to dry. And the morons continue to think he's on their side.

“We have done a great job.”

Trump once again is disregarding the 155,000 (and growing) deaths, approaching 5,000,000 sickened by the virus, and a collapsed economy with questionable hopes of ever recovering.

But Trump, his family, and many of his fellow 'elite' are doing just fine. So for them, i.e. the US .01% - 1%, he's done a great job

Another Trump quote from the Axios interview: 'We're lower than the world'. Under Trump's 'leadership' the US continues along the downward slope toward its lowest point in decades.

I have watched a number of interviews of both Trump and the experts on this topic.  I must say that I think the way this report is framed is a little bit off.  Much of what has been attributed to Trump is skewed to make it seem like he is either callous or clueless.  That is not the impression I have had from what I have seen.  and there has been a lot of backtracking and misrepresenting of what was said and done in the early days of the outbreak.  Like the Dems partying in Chinatown on CNY.  and vilifying Trump for the travel ban.  and Cuomo saying that the Feds had provided "great assistance" to NY in the early days.  And mixed messages on masking.  and no outcry over massed gatherings.  etc etc.

As for Hydroxy,  yes no evidence of it being massively helpful but some of it being possibly helpful and certainly none of it being harmful.

so overall it seems to me that the "science" and the stats do not necessarily show the US in a hugely worse light than many other developed countries.....

Plus just imagine if Uncle Joe was "in charge".......

OMG, Pelosi is such a liar. Trump never said that.

Yeah, he said it was a Democrat hoax. Jeez.

A thousand people are dying every day!

It is what it is. But we're doing better than everybody else.

How can you say that?! Where's your proof?

It's in all of the publications and books.

What publications?

In the books.

What books?

Huminahumina....

Trump will be voted out in less than three months so anything he says and does now is basically irrelevant.

Time to move on and plan for a much better future.

"I don't have confidence in anyone who stands there while the President says swallow Lysol and it's going to cure your virus," Pelosi said.

OMG, Pelosi is such a liar. Trump never said that.

OMG you are right. He suggested we try INJECTING Lysol, not swallowing it. So misleading of Pelosi there.
