How much could a chinese tank possibly cost?

Maybe Chavez is getting 1,000 tanks for his army.

According to Chinese leaders. China is the most peace making nation in the world... They make tanks only for self Defence. Selling to another country also part of thier SELF MADE LIE ...

oh yes. the always imminent threat of an invasion by uncle sam. lol. are venezuelans that gullible?

Many Venezuelans do not have enough to eat and this pendejo wastes $$$$$ on tanks????

Hope the Venezuelans keep the receipts so they can return the junk as soon as Chavez has kicks the bucket.

The threat of a US invasion to a Latin American country is no myth, study world history and you will see that the USA has invaded plenty of its Southern neighbors, so Americans can laugh but for Chavez he may believe his own propaganda???

@neversubmit You make a great point! Yes there are millions of homeless in the USA and we spend $$ on more crap than Venezuela but I guess since this about the only the USA does not buy from China, the USA is somehow morally superior to China??? Hahaha??

@USNinJapan

I agree. Chavez is a clown and the idiot wants to make himself as THE savior of the people, amazing, the sooner he starts pushing daisies, the better we are all!

500 million for second hand tanks that the Chinese probably bought second hand from the Russians in the first place? Sounds like a...pfft...great deal. By the way Chavez, I have a bridge you might be interested in.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@The ?? is that bridge called Madison County?? Kind of like that movie?? Maybe Chavez can make a new version, from Bridges from Caracas to Beijing, we sell you cheap Venezuelan crude oil, and you Chinese give us old second or 3rd hand used Russian tanks??

Quote: "...loans that China has offered Venezuela in exchange for oil shipments".

When Chavez said, "Tanks, China!" could they have gotten the wrong idea?

Is Chavez going to use the Chinese tank in similar fashion as Tienanmen square's protest? Besides exchange oil for tank, maybe Chavez also got a free design casket for himself at later use that made by a socialist communist state.

China is containing America and Venezula is offering help ! Well done, a cooperation win win scenario for both sides! Sooner later Chinese submarines will docked in the Venezuela ports and patrolling in the Caribbean sea to keep peace!

Chavez was a great leader, he has guts and spine to lead his people out of miserable and despair! The entire latin america lacking a leader like him who was a former paratrooper officer to gain the nation with prize and honour! Remember the dark ages(50s,-80s) America installing puppets and fascists like Pinnochet to rule those so called banana republics, time to pay back and here is a spike in your eye! After Chavez more leaders from the region will take up the fight for 'independence' and China, Russia were willing to offer the guns! Buying amphibious tanks is interesting, the venezuela military preparing D day, maybe Miami! :D

Oooooo scary. A despotic government run by a corrupt leader buying outdated military equipment from a country that values quantity over quality. Yes, I'm sure that Venezuelan rust buckets...I mean...ships will serve as a wonderful stabilizing force in the uncharted and dangerous waters of the carribiean.

Soon nobody will fear cruise ships and drunken party goers anymore and the waters will be nice and safe for South American drug cartels.

Thats the funniest thing I've read in a while. Thank you.

Venezuela has been no wars in the last 150 years, so whats the purpose for these tanks and other weapons imported from Russia, obviously America has threatening and coverting the regieme of Chavez! And he has a right to fight back to protect his people, thats why Russia China were offering help, it is a very simple meaning, both Russia and China were stakeholders of world peace including the Latin americans!
