I guess Dick here should get the Nobel Prize for NO BRAINERS, duh! If we would have had a woman, a white woman as US president instead of a man, the first BLACK man to be president of the USA things would have been different, but hey if say her HUSBAND BILL would have never become president, stayed down there in Arkansas, heck many many other things in US and World history would now be totally different right?? That is why Cheney has such an appropriate name??

Even if Mrs. Clinton had been elected president in 2008, and even if she had done a better job as president than Obama, Republican obstructionism would have been just as virulent, and possibly even more so, and the Tea party rants would be just as loud. And instead of accusations of non-citizenship or insinuations the she is a Muslim, they would persistently attack her in other ways, like raising the Whitewater scandal or the Vince Foster suicide. The sad fact is, once Republicans are voted out of the White House they gear up for an infantile, four-year tantrum of epic proportions.

@Virtuoso -- that's right. I remember within days of Bill Clinton becoming president I could see bumper stickers saying, "Don't blame me. I didn't vote for Clinton." Same sort of thing for Obama.

Anyway, old Dick has well proven his disregard for rule of law and constitutional authority, so who cares what he thinks.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

In other words...Hillary would have sucked!

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Newsflash to Dick Cheney: The sun's hot!

Oh, that's blindingly obvious, as was his statement about Clinton...

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Cheney is a vicious two-faced lying dirt bag. The man has consistently proven himself to be one of the most incompetent self serving politicians in American history. He has led a once great country down the road to financial and economic ruin. He should be strung up and his corpse spat on. But, he's now on a book tour.

Put it this way: How do you know when Dick Cheney is lying?

His lips are moving.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Heh. Read some of the scathing comments regarding his book - comments coming from the very people he worked with!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Cheney's right, things would definitely be different if Hillary had become president.

"He has led a once great country..."

It's still great, even with the current economic and financial boondoggle.

"... down the road to economic and financial ruin"

You're confusing Cheney with Obama.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

So he has never said the US would have been different if Clinton had been in charged, as the headline states. He says that perhaps she might have altered the path of the country.

Nice sensationalist headline there.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

The US would not exist if Cheney had become president.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Actually Bill Clinton was ready to run the country into the ground like Obama was ready to, but like Obama he had control of the congress for only 2 years. The difference is Clinton signed the legislation the republican congress passed. Obama and the liberals are fighting it for now. Obama can fix things if he'd just stop pandering to the Unions and other liberal special interests. As far as Hillary, she is doing good as Sec of State, better than I'd thought. She is actually becoming more of a republican than what she was. She has to, to prove herself as a man which is what she wants to be.

Make sure you "duck" if you're ever challenged to a hunting contest by this war criminal.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Sure if would be different, the former governor of Illinois would still be governor.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Worry not everyone! Mr. Hindsight is here.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Everyone's allowed to speculate, like those of us who who must've wondered, "Gee, what if Cheney or the whole Bush Administration was never in government."

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Would it matter who was president, really?

What does a president do?

Make policy decisions?

No. He has advisors for that.

Make speeches.

Well, he reads them or says them from memory. They are written by speech writers.

Anything else?

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Though they have the same stance on policies, Hillary's a better politician than Obama while Obama inspires more hope. The hope schtick lasted for about a year. We need a president who has a strong backbone and can get her hands dirty or work smoothly. That is Hillary. Unfortunately, Obama had the better message and it was right place and time for him after 8 disastrous years under Bush that only inspired despair. When you compare the two, I think Hillary would've been the more effective choice.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

And if Dick Cheney were in the White House, America would probably not exist!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

If she had been president instead of GWB and someone Vice instead of Cheney, the nation would most CERTAINLY be a different place. Priorities would be correct, less war, better economy, etc.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

A President Hillary Clinton would have appointed a Vice President Obama. So a first woman president & a first black Vice-President would have been what Cheney was referring to without saying it.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Go ahead and file this under "W" for " Well, no shit."

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Hey dick!

Just imagine the US & the world if neither YOU & the dimwit rummy were in the White House, the destruction, literally, emotionally & financially on the US & the world YOU caused is incalcuable.

Dick C is a clear & present danger

GW - You got that right!

That guy makes my skin crawl.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I wish Obama decided not to run and Hillary could make a run for the office in 2012.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

cracaphat, that election was not stolen it was that close.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Absolute, the US would probably end up listening to less bs and lies. Obama is such an elite liar that no candidate or former president can beat him in this craft.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Someone should tell Tricky Dick2 that the world would've been better off without him, Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Dick Cheney - makes Darth Vader look like a saint.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

The statement by Cheney "U.S. would have been different if Hillary Clinton were president " contains about as much insight vas this one: Cheney's friend's face would have been different if Cheney didn't shoot him.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

"... down the road to economic and financial ruin"

You're confusing Cheney with Obama.

Are all republicans brainwashed at birth ??? or do they only recruit fro the ranks of the ultra-thick?? I'll spell it our real simple like so y'all can understand.

When Clinton left office America had money in the bank. 8 years of Bush / Cheney misrule and theft left America with NO money and hugely in debt. Obama was given this mess and has to fix it. (which he can't, but that's another issue)

But as you're obviously a republican there is no point in even trying to reason with you.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Cheney isn’t getting into specifics, but he does think that “perhaps she might have been easier for some of us who are critics of the president to work with.”

Well, here's one specific, Dick: The country wouldn't have been treated to the spectacle of many thousands of morons clamoring nonsense about the president's somehow not being born in the United States -- and that the standard proof of birth issued by the State of Hawaii was somehow not proof enough.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

So Hilary would of closed Gitmo and pulled US soldiers out, like Obama promised, but did the opposite? How come Cheney hasn't been investigated anyway?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Have to use 'progressive' logic here - - anyone who disagrees with the compliment former VP , White House Chief of Staff,House Minority Whip and Defense Sec Cheney has paid Hillary Rodham Clinton is obviously a misogynist and a hater.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

What if Vince Foster hadnj't been taken care of; Oh, the intrigue of the White House! Think hard on what I just wrote.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

William Broyles (Newsweek)

There is one bold thing Obama could and should do. He should bow out of the race for reelection and throw his support behind Hillary Clinton - the leader we should have chosen in the first place.

Let's see..... Looking through Breitbart's Lexicon for Loonies now. Ah, here it is:

misogynist: Anyone who doesn't believe that Sarah Palin is qualified to be president.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Cheney was irrelevant when he was in office with an 8% approval rating. He's even less relevant now.

Maybe someone should tell dick that after his own piss-poor performance as a VP, along with one of the worst and most contraversial US presidents, that he shouldn't be attacking others on their performance.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Former vice president to a two-term president, former White House Chief of Staff, former House Minority Whip and former Defense Sec., Dick Cheney understands all too well that Valerie Jarret and Michelle Obama basically run the country.

Christopher Hitchens had Obama pegged by May 2008 - - cherchez la femme.

And Cheney is right: America - and the rest of the free world - would have been better off with Hillary Clinton calling the shots, if for no other reason than she would be able to call upon Bubba when out of her depth.

One thing that wouldn't have changed is that the republicans would have refused to work with a woman as much as they've refused to work with a black man.

Yeah, and we'd have to hear about Filegate, Travelgate, Whitewater, Vince Foster, and the Clinton "death list" all over again ad nauseum.

Never underestimate the party of false accusers' penchant for 24-by-7 character assassination.

Are all republicans brainwashed at birth ???

The average one started out a Democrat or independent.

or do they only recruit fro the ranks of the ultra-thick??

fro ?

I'll spell it our real simple like so y'all can understand. When Clinton left office America had money in the bank.

Wrong. The national debt has grown steadily, for decades. Clinton could say he produced a federal budget surplus for some of the years he was in office, but then he faced a Repub congress for 6 years, and in a presidency which came between the collapse of the Soviet Union and 9-11, which Clinton directly enabled.

Dick Cheney - makes Darth Vader look like a saint.

LOL. Another prog whose world view is straight out of cartoonish sci-fi flicks for teenagers.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Bah, Darth is a poor example - he had some good in him.

LOL. Another prog whose world view is straight out of cartoonish sci-fi flicks for teenagers.

From a guy who worships andrew breitbart, that's really funny, and more than a little ironic.

GG2141 - Before you try to belittle other posters you should check your facts. Under Bill Clinton the U.S. debt INCREASED by about $1.4 trillion. ( yeah it increased a lot more under Bush but then again we had 9/11 and liberated two countries, and oh, man, check out how much more it's increased under Barack )

Madverts - Har!
