Zero COVID failing - Whilst the population as a whole becomes dangerously socially isolated. It won't of course, but I wish this would lead to more social unrest on a MAJOR scale and a collapse of central government. Then the Taiwanese could come back in and take over. Can but wish.

I think we all know that Zero Covid policies have got absolutely nothing to do with covid anymore

While I do enjoy watching the CCP fail miserable and publicly. I hate this for my friends in China who are trapped in this madness.

Not sure why anyone is worried about this flu like virus anymore anyway.

@Wil: Of course its bizarre - I don't seriously think it would happen for one minute. But should the PRCs claim over Taiwan be any greater that Taiwan's over the PRC? I'm assuming you know your history.

That poor kid!

Silly China.

It's impossible to question the narrative from Chinese media in China.

Every single "expert" on Chinese TV toes the official line based on "the science"

If you question them they will instantly shut you down under the guise of spreading "misinformation"

So what? News?

At last Bronco says something that doesn't sound like woke claptrap. It's a fact that China is seriously misreporting their stats.

It's a fact that China is seriously misreporting their stats.

And how do you know your government didn't do the same?

Oh the irony.

I don't. And your comment is beside the point.

I don't. And your comment is beside the point.

But, you know that China does?

The irony!

By the way, I am more curious by the very short government worker in the hazmat suit!

The country recorded 31,454 domestic cases -- 27,517 without symptoms -- on Wednesday, the National Health Bureau said.

Great job China. More than half the number of cases than Japan but with ten times the population.

And still the fewest Covid related death rate in the world, all the while keeping its economy afloat while countries such as New Zealand and Australia saw recessions along with high infection rates.

The experts begrudgingly acknowledge that zero covid is the best covid.

Love the conspiracy theories!

Excellent one.

Greatest post of the day!

More lockdowns for the common folk. More fun in empty spaces for the CCP elite.

China is in for a rude awakening ss they haven’t even had the first wave due to the stupid lockdowns and failed policies. Countries with least restrictions have fared the best, and countries with strict restrictions are just delaying and making the ”pandemic” longer and longer.

Great job China. More than half the number of cases than Japan but with ten times the population.

The problem? Japan is not the best standard to compare when trying to justify taking unsustainable and counterproductive measures instead of what the international experts recommend according to the best available scientific evidence.

Love the conspiracy theories!

When something can be easily proved by declarations of the own Chinese criticizing this flaw of the reporting system it is not valid to call it a conspiracy theory, which depends on something that has no evidence of happening.

The experts begrudgingly acknowledge that zero covid is the best covid.

The "best covid" is still covid, meanwhile the best strategy to reduce the importance of the pandemic is vaccination

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/covid-data/covidview/past-reports/07082022.html

Vaccinating everyone ages 6 months and older is the best defense against serious illness, hospitalization, and death related to COVID-19.

Meanwhile the number of international experts recommending lockdowns (that you agreed are unnecessary and counterproductive when compared with better strategies like the ones used in Sweden) are still zero.

Got it--when you are touting Japan's strategy to confirm to your claim, that's a different story:

It has a very effective strategy that has been praised internationally
