Why are they kicking out journalist trying to confirm this narrative of world savior I wonder. If China is a model for the world, we are doomed.

While some experts caution against accepting Beijing's figures at face value, WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus insisted China's success "provides hope for the rest of the world".

Sure would like to see Tedros Adhanom's overseas bank account statements.

China is a particular case -- a centrally-controlled, top-down, one-party authoritarian state that allows no dissent

What's up with that?

Wuhan is still close to dead.

A lot of Japanese I know, feel this was China's bio-terrorism attack to thwart Japan hosting the Olympics

By possibly wiping out half the Chinese population and risk destroying the Chinese economy in the process? Yeah, sure.

Most of the deadly viruses originated in China, and for covid all of a sudden from last week they are saying they are stable now ... just because now the focus has moved to other countries they will come out with clean picture !! with all the media controlled by them its so easy

Countries like Japan, whose economy depends on Chinese tourist will also start advocating them, its a pity why we all can't see the truth.

Yeah, I know. I still wanna know what's up with that.

WHO is partly to blame for the world wide spread, so now we are still supposed to listen to what this moron at the top of says, and he spouts of about china and how it succeeded to beating the virus?

WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus needs to also be taken to task for his irresponsible behaviour earlier during the outbreak.

He is not capable of doing his damn job properly.

Yeah, I know. I still wanna know what's up with that.

It happens when people blindly support a leader and that leader them takes advantage of that blind support.

the article overlooked some important steps. Cover up and silence whistle blowers.

Privacy and civil liberty are largely curtailed in China's authoritarian model of containment (with high-tech support). It also affect socioeconomic activities. We need to hold a good balance.

If a virus is found not so deadly to humans, a practical solution is to let people get "naturally vaccinated" to form a herd immunity. The College group is suggesting this incremental approach. In fact, people have survived many outbreaks in that way (other than vaccine implementation).

China knew about this new Corona virus back in November! The China model is nothing to look up to...

I also very skeptical of China's recent claims.

China is the one that fumbled it in the first place and allowed it to spread...

TAIWAN is the model to follow here, and it's even more democratic and liberal than Japan

Quite ironically, the China model or "solution" of draconian public control via ubiquitous high-tech support is also contagious worldwide. For example, facial recognition surveillance programs are now popular, especially among states under authoritarian rules.

And of course, it's about money. Some people have already been "infected" (or say, brainwashed?) with China' economic aid. A Serbian leader publicly stated to the effect that China is better and more helpful savior, or brother than its neighboring EU. Such a view must be shared by other world leaders regardless of regime types.

At a certain point of time amid crisis, the iron fist is necessary. More difficult is to decide when and how to resume our normal life. Without the exit plan, free society would be suppressed under the Big Brother.

The level of authoritarian oversight the Chinese Communist government has implemented is truly terrifying. Technology is stripping away human rights at the most basic level. Although the measures taken by Chinese officials certainly helped to control the viruses spread, the price paid by a cowed populace is way too high for those that value liberty. I can protect myself using my own common sense without such Orwellian tactics on the part of an all powerful central government.

Japan seems to be a pretty good balance for that (so far). It is centralized and at the same time you don't have to worry about exorbitant costs from the failed TrumpCare like what any CV patient would face in the USA. And Japan doesn't really (again, so far at least) force anyone to really do anything. Things seem peaceful and stable in Japan so far. It seems Trump is talking about a return to ObamaCare.

Hillarious! The WHO has been in the pocket of the Chinese Communist Party and trumpeting their lies for so long that the media is starting to pick it up. Good job!

A Serbian leader publicly stated to the effect that China is better and more helpful savior, or brother than its neighboring EU.

The EU's primary response to the Covid outbreak was to call for a unified, coordinated effort on the part of the member states. This was to be achieved by each member state living up to its "responsibilities". To assist in that endeavor the EU loosened up some of their fiscal regulations and redirected some of its budget so that the member states could have a little extra cash to invest in their economies. That way each member state could be better equipped to respond to the growing problem.

When Italy was getting hammered, with over 20,000 infections and 1400 deaths, they went to the EU for help. They requested medical supplies and equipment to bolster their seriously overburdened health care apparatus. The EU responded by dutifully informing each member state of Italy's situation and request. Not one member state answered Italy's call, but China did.

It really looks like, that when the chips are down, there isn't really much unity in the European Union.

The detention and harassment of doctors, forced intrusions into homes, patients forced into overcrowded wards with no food, concealment of deaths, failure to control the spread of a virulent infectious disease etc etc

Who wrote such a nonsensical article?
