Another example of the state and Xi having excessive levels of control over Chinese people.

It's worrying that so many in the 'west', or anywhere for that matter, want a 'strong man' for a leader, want their lives to be dominated by a Xi, Putin, Erdogan, Kim, Duterte, a shiekh or king, a mullah. The quest to find a messiah and actually believe one can be found continues to drag us all down.

Scary to watch democracy being undermined, to see people want to return to feudal times, especially when it's done primarily to the benefit of the .01%.

A Chinese citizen that works abroad in a prominent role in an institution that isn't favorable to China is a fool for returning to China and not expecting consequences.

I'm still waiting for dictator Xi and his family to be arrested for corruption. Until that happens the rule of law will not exist in China.
