Xie repeated China's insistence that the balloon was a Chinese civil unmanned airship that blew into U.S. airspace by mistake, calling it "an accidental incident caused by force majeure."

..

Uncontrolled and unplanned flights into another country’s airspace are not acceptable, no matter the reason.

The Chinese CCP should be apologetic concerning this matter not belligerent.

China accuses U.S. of indiscriminate use of force over balloon

That is actually pretty polite considering, you know . . .

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Actually the US used very ‘discriminate’ force in downing the unwanted intruder.

CCP rhetoric is just so overblown….

A precedent has been set, so now there will not be any “unmanned civilian airship” entered Chinese airspace without being shot down. Stupid as stupid does, just want to play a political show without thinking about the consequences. China may have set a trap for those less intelligent to fall in.

In-discriminant use of force on an inanimate object....Over our own territory no less.

Bite me, Xi.

Anyone notice that China has lost another huge "weather" balloon over Columbia?

China admitted on Monday that a second balloon spotted over Latin America is theirs, alleging that the aircraft is "civilian" in nature and was shifted off-course because of weather and its "limited self-steering capability."

And another over Costa Rica:

Costa Rica also notified planes on Thursday after getting reports of a balloon traveling in its airspace.

I'm not concerned much about weather balloons. Typical weather balloons have tiny payloads, typically just a few grams for modern weather reporting.

“When this thing swells up, it’s maybe 30 foot in diameter,” Buttler said.

The Chinese balloon measured well over 100 feet, according to experts.

Most meteorologists agree that a guided balloon, moving through varied climatological regions, with a large non-disposable payload, hovering lower in the atmosphere than a normal weather balloon, does not make sense as far as modern research goes.

Both Dewey and Buttler added that they were not aware of a Chinese experiment like this in the field, but didn’t rule out its possibility.

All United States climatological and meteorological data collected by the United States government, including satellite, radar, and radiosondes, are available to the public at all times for no charge. These resources are restricted by regions and to advisories during times of conflict.

So, what we are being told by China doesn't match with reality.

The US Navy has recovered the remains of the balloon.

Indiscriminate and PATHETIC..

a F22 and a sidewinder for a little shiny white balloon.. Pathetic circus, LOOOOOOL !!..

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

How do you say ‘gibberish’ in Chinese?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The arrogance of the Chinese knows no bounds. Time for the US to close consulates, reduce ties to a consular level and embargo trade and travel with China. Big middle finger to the middle kingdom.

Better hurry to get out of China, we wanna to let the Russian consulate in. If not for the sake of America, China has long provided weapons to Russia or sent troops to the Donetsky frontline.

Some of the remains not all.

send what would the Chinese have done? Build a ladder and use the catchers mitt to get the balloon?

Turned out to be a Chinese takeaway.

Biden should send a thousand spy balloons to China, Xi sees no harm in them.

What did China expect?

"Return to sender!"

The American press states that is not the first time either. Two times last year, three during the wretched Trump era. The CCP needs to be more responsible and own up to this. You send an intrusive device in our airspace, you suffer the consequences. Just like the early 60's U2 incident, it's a RED-handed case here.

Don't go sending balloons over other nations, Xi! Keep your toys at home, chump!

Waaahhhhh!!!!! Like I said above, suck it up and shut it up, CCP! Don't talk any sassy talk with us, we don't wanna hear it!

And every time pressed about it, the left so far haven’t been able to provide time, exact dates, or any other evidence to support the accusation. Radcliffe and Pompeo said it didn’t happen and knowing Trump had it happened he would have boasted about shooting down the darn thing.

The Chinese Spy Balloon forced the military to choose between shooting it down or risking civilian lives, risking intelligence and political repercussions on America by leaving it in the air.

Three Chinese balloons during Trump's term but weren’t shot down because he didn’t want to upset President XI.

Proof?

It’s yours to disprove.

No, Radcliffe and Pompeo didn’t mean denied the claims

Gen. Glen VanHerck, commander of US Northern Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command, told reporters a “domain awareness gap” led to the Pentagon’s failure to detect the “threats” during Trump’s tenure, but the military later learned about the balloons via intelligence-gathering operations “from additional means.”

VanHerck offered clarity after a senior Defense official said Saturday that Chinese government surveillance balloons flew over the U.S. at least three times during Trump’s time in office and once at the beginning of Biden’s tenure, adding that none of the previous four flights lasted as long as the most recent incident.

Just imagine all the intelligence China was able to garner as the satellite ballon drifted basically across the US mainland. All those beautiful pictures and other readouts taken from only 12 miles away.

That will keep CCP intel officials busy for a long time, and so maybe they will not have the resources to allocate towards stealing US intellectual property.

Brilliant move Joe!

Now stop trying to shake hands with the air.

Get real - this balloon got nothing. Take it from someone who has been there, our bases know exactly what is overhead, and when to "minimize". At one base I was at, he had a large tarp we used to lay out over our fuel bladders - with a big middle finger aimed upward....

That will keep CCP intel officials busy for a long time, and so maybe they will not have the resources to allocate towards stealing US intellectual property.

Most intellectual property was already given to them under the previous administration - by the guy with the undeclared Chinese bank account...

Brilliant move Joe!

Compared to the previous low-grade moron, definitely...

Except it wasn't a "satellite" balloon. Was it even able to transmit any info back to China? I doubt it would be able to transmit any photographs if indeed there was even a camera.

We don't really know what the balloon was capable of doing. Maybe the collected debris will reveal some info.
