China announces plan to streamline government

Most corrupted government in the world.

Just know this, when the Chinese government usually establishes a new leadership, the words "anti-corruption" and "streamlining" means two things. Legitimately hammer down excesses to win the favor of the people (hopefully), and also eliminate your political enemies. China is at a delicate state of power transitioning from Hu and Wen's government to the vision of the new entrant Xi Jinping's. This means Xi is appointing loyalists around him and taking care of those who are not.

You forgot to mention the most important part. Control of the media. Nothing is more important to the Chinese government, then controlling the flow of information to its citizens.

This article reminds me of the moment in "Star Wars - A New Hope" when Governor Tarkin said, "...the Emperor has permantly disolved the Council - FEAR will keep the local systems in line. Fear of this Battlestation..."

Isn't it obvious to the People of China that their government is installing "Fear" into their own beurocracy?

If the "Fear Mongering" Communist Regime of China wants to STREAMLINE something, Streamline This: CLEAN UP YOUR SMOG!

Streamline = purge?

It may end in even more corruption since they had centralized power into a smaller group.

If you look into mainland china's past dynasties they all fall due to some kind of corruption/centralization of power which result in dismay of the ordinary people.

Okay, railways - check; health and childbirth - check; fisheries and that kind of stuff - check. Thank you for the details. But:

...creating a super-agency to regulate the media...

WHAT?! A little more detail on this point would be appreciated.
