Not a judgement call, but don't nearly all countries have some sort of regulations on names? A child in Russia couldn't have numbers, for example; another in Finland, I believe, had the name Lucifer rejected (also a religious name). In some other countries, there are even proscribed lists that you can choose only those names.

Banning names, veils and domes seems a sign of desperation. It would be better to know why people want to use these things.

If  someone wants to  name their children with first name or last name : "Jihad".   A very dangerous act indeed!

I imagine Chinese people are still free to name their children after mass murderer Mao Zedong.

Parents can just use different names - one for official documents; another for the name they always use.

For ex: we have a friend Jack - everybody calls him Jack; everybody knows him Jack. But that's not his official name - his official name is hard to pronounce, so nobody uses that.

How is the government gonna stop that? People can call each other whatever they want, irrespective of official documents.
