China is both a leading country in arms imports and exports! That was due to US military aggression against China now looming in asia after her 6:4 naval power in Pacific and Atlantic

It's #2 exporter that I find disturbing. Russia seems to sell to any nation willing to pay money. USA does have consideration on the end user of the weapons....for the most part.

Surprised to see tiny Singapore as the fifth largest importer, even at a left-over figure of 4%.

I wouldn't want to buy any Chinese weapons, probably break after a few uses.

true dat...china was never good at making killing machines. leave that to the true experts - usa and japan.

dag, u.s. at 30%?!? makes you wonder if it deliberately created some of the world's current conflicts to increase it's customer base.

@Tiger wow, what kind of ideological dream world are you living in? If you're talking about completely disarming all nuke weapons I can understand that (Although I'm pretty sure its easily replaced by something equally if not more devastating in destructive capability). But if you mean completely removing a nation's military...

Nobody likes war except those that profit from it. But every nation has a military for one reason first and foremost, to defend themselves. If there is no one to defend you then how do you propose to defend yourself should someone else decide to take something from you by force? Just roll over and be enslaved/killed etc? Reality and human nature shows that mankind is prone to trying get what they want even if they have to force it from others by hook or crook. The sooner you comprehend that you'll get a better grasp on why things are the way they are.

US should demonstrate their global leadership here by being the first to disarm, I mean disarm completely.... Their unemployment rate might just hit 38% should that happen..... so not likely. We'll need to put up with more of their war of terror.

Great. Top 5 im;porters all in Asia!!! Surely doesn't bode well for the future of the region.

Total count may go up by one if Abe's dream of 'proud Japan' is materialised :(
