China will not change anytime soon. Repression has been the norm for 1000's of years and will be for the forseeable future

Some days it is very frustrating to see that we of a certain age (I had JUST turned 19) are the only ones who seem to remember or care. I find it very frustrating that the Chinese themselves don't seem to care as long as their incomes go up. They have let the CCP put them in a prison. Yes, it has ipods, leather seats, most internet access, and Vivendi, but it's still a prison...

To those who say that China is now a modern nation and that we should let it go, I say hop a flight over to Beijing and quietly and without drama set a small basket of flowers in the middle of the square and see what happens to you. The CCP has not changed one bit. It is still determined to maintain its undemocratic, despotic grip at any and all costs. The ONLY change is that it has replaced the laughably bad ideology of Communism with the more attractive and dangerous ideology of nationalism.

LOL they broke their promises even before the Olympics started! Remember the promise to the IOC to allow demonstration areas during the Olympics? There were no permits approved. Why? Read the following and get an idea of the hell that Chinese citizens have to live through:

Amusing that the Chinese government doesn't want to remember the events of 15 years ago that they did but they keep on dredging up the things the Japanese did 70 years ago as proof of how Japan should be held accountable. When is the Chinese government going to apologize for it's actions? The world is waiting. Don't hold your breath 'cause you'll turn blue....

That just sucks! hope that China changes it view about what happened and not hide it or block any events that celebrate it. Please change China!

Really want to see a coup in my lifetime. Preferably a bloodless one, but I'm not that fussy considering what the powers that be have been responsible for.

Nothing better to ensure it happens again than to try and erase history. Be it China, South Korea, or Japan, you need to tell the truth and let people know what happened, right or wrong, and learn from it. Stop the white-washing and denials.
