China fires back at U.S. allegations of lack of transparency over WHO virus probe

Not just the US but a bunch of nations need to confront the Chinese directly and ask what they are hiding and why, and agree to predicate future business activity with China on the truthfulness of their response.

This WHO "investigation" a year after the fact reading the CCP written script is a joke. China absolutely must be made to take responsbility for their actions, and lack thereof, between Oct 2019 - Feb 2020.

China has zero credibility. I would suggest a UN sponsored investigation, and this time, Russia will not side with China to obstruct it.

I agree. The CCP should take responsibility and tell us what happened. The damage done, financial and human is insane, and it's not even over yet.

The US is 100% right. This "probe" by the WHO, and the crooked African Tedros, was a farce. Well over a year after the origin of the virus, and we still do not know whether it was a lab-made virus, or not.

This WHO staffer must take the US and the world for fools. He claims to be a "scientist", waits over a year to examine date that the PRC has had ample time to clean up, and then thinks it was a valid investigation? Where did he get his tinpot "qualifications"?

It is simply too co-incidental that the centre of the PRCs viral "research" was in a lab within walking distance from the alleged accidental epicenter in a street market.

The scientsts involved in the probe are all likely corrupt and been paid off with $ millions by the CCP. I hope they are blacklisted in Western nations from working there again.

Blame the WHO for the handling of this awful global pandemic. Tedros should resign and there should be a serious reform within this corrupt organisation. Did anyone seriously think anything would come out of this investigation? It's a big farce. So sorry for the terrible loss of so many innocent human lives.

WHO is a political organization. The top funders in the UN have the most control/influence. The US and China are like parents arguing in front of their child.

I don't think China tried to make 2020 bad, the leadership was just trying to downplay the virus and hide it. Then the lie became so huge it HAD to become policy. Arrest anyone who didn't propigate the lie. Threaten them, their families, their jobs - make the lie stick. That became just as important as locally trying to slow COVID inside China.

Hiding the data has always happened. Accurate reporting inside China wasn't allowed, since it would conflict with the lie - the state mandated lie. There is proof that China claimed 20 cases in January 2020 when there were over 500. There are documents which have been leaked - they called it pneumonia initially. In China last year, there was a massive number of pneumonia cases .... er ... COVID.

Gotta keep the lie going. That's the CCP way.

I disagree with withdrawing. The US needed to remain in the WHO and hold them accountable. Bailing out like that is the coward's choice. US scientists need to be right in there as part of the WHO and keep everyone honest. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

I am very fond of a book titled Animal Farm published long ago. China has become a society exactly like Animal Farm by surveilling their own people and by instigating fear of repercussion in their population if one acts against the party. CCP needs to vanish. A headless snake can no longer bite, or spread its poison. It’s about time we got to the heads of the CCP, or otherwise the world is in for more chaos! Reckon it's up to the good people of China. "We" shouldn't actively interfere, (military action etc) but it would be sensible to maintain dialogue and call out the horrific human rights abuses. And, difficult as it is, maybe call out those big, big companies and families who trade with China. On a personal level, again - difficult, apply boycotts of Chines goods. Every little helps.

What I think is China would have removed or hide the evidences before the investigation. As the investigation took place after many months and when the officials of WHO arrived they were quarantined. I guess it gave a lot of time to CCP to clear the evidences because of which WHO wasn't able to present the proper report. But the point here arises is why WHO keeps on changing its own statement. Is it because the suppression of CCP??
