Bass: Most liberals do, most liberals want illegals to pour in.

Who told you that?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Moscow Mitch is nothing like Harry Reid. Harry Read has actually got stuff done. During Harry's watch, he passed the Affordable Care Act, the Dodd–Frank Act, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Since Moscow Mitch has been leader of the Senate he has done squat but oppose legislation.

At the same time, Reid made sure to block over 320 Republican legislations to get to the floor. And what are you are right, at the same time the man was the most partisan Senator ever. Now that the roles are reversed, the Democrats are having a hissy fit, because now they’re in the passengers seat.

https://www.smh.com.au/world/north-america/the-grim-reaper-why-democrats-fear-mitch-mcconnell-more-than-trump-20190823-p52jxm.html

This is why I love McConnell:

McConnell’s pace of filling federal court seats has been eye-popping, especially on the powerful appellate circuits. Addressing the conservative Heritage Foundation on Tuesday night, McConnell touted 29 circuit court judges confirmed since Trump took office, which he described as a record pace “in any administration in history.” That’s 16 percent of the 179 appeals court seats.

This will definitely change the landscape for at least 30 years and that’s the most important thing for conservatives in The future going forward.

Only they would create a financial Frankenstein burden on the public.

Oh, I think Trump's tax cuts wins the financial Frankenstein burden award many times over.

But nothing now, they’re too busy chasing rabbits down holes, talking to Irrelevant people, whining about Russia, Racism, porn stars and trying to get the President, spending all their time and 24/7 to do whatever they can, worrying about the people and that dreaded ACA what is not affordable is the absolute last thing on their minds.

It's not a zero-sum game. The house can provide oversight (e.g. over the Russian attack on US democracy) and legislation at the same time. The Dems would pass legislation tomorrow if it would get through. Unfortunately Moscow Mitch won't let anything useful to the American people through.

He had Harry Reid as his mentor, thank him.

Trump has really bungled this trade war and given the impetus to China. China knows that Trump has to win an election next Year, Xi Jinping doesn't.

Trump's meddling with tariffs has created uncertainty in the markets and will likely affect consumer spending next. Considering the US economy is driven by consumer spending, expect a softening of the economy leading into election year.

And the irony is that 'the economy' was the only area that Trump had good approval ratings on. If that falls, he doesn't have a chance next year. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot!

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The ACA was a Democratic initiative.

Only they would create a financial Frankenstein burden on the public.

Why would they have to come up with an alternative to their own plan? You're not making any sense here.

Not me, I didn’t create that garbage, really!

However, the Democrats in the House have come up with several measures earlier this year to help fix some of the problems related to the ACA,

But nothing now, they’re too busy chasing rabbits down holes, talking to Irrelevant people, whining about Russia, Racism, porn stars and trying to get the President, spending all their time and 24/7 to do whatever they can, worrying about the people and that dreaded ACA what is not affordable is the absolute last thing on their minds.

but no thanks to Moscow Mitch and the do-nothing Republican-led Senate, nothing has been able to move forward.

He had Harry Reid as his mentor, thank him.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Yes. You said you are against Obamacare. So you support people dying in the streets with no health insurance.

That’s your personal interpretation, not mine. Just because I hate McDonald’s doesn’t mean I hate burgers, nice try as always, Sup.

I'm against a wall, so I support open borders.

Most liberals do, most liberals want illegals to pour in. Most conservatives don’t, but think there are other options besides spending money on a wall. They want the same as I do but through a different approach.

And since I don't support Trump's tactics on China, it means I support screwing America.

Yup.

You get to choose A or B, and that's that.

That’s not it, there are always other options and various opinions. Liberals don’t get to say or dictate “what is or what is not.”

Every single attempt to make the system better was blocked by Republicans who wanted to use it as leverage to make the whole thing go away. Improving the system worked against them so they refused to vote for any fixes.

And the Dems still didn’t do anything to fix the situation but do what they always do best, talk, talk and more talk.

The Obamacare premiums increased because of Trump.

And the Dems had every opportunity to show they care and could try to lower premium rates on their end, they haven’t, they won’t and if they ever get the WH, they’ll go up, but at this rate, the entire thing will implode because more and more people are unwilling pay for junk that is overpriced. I will be playing “Taps” though.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

I see you went to Trump University to learn your negotiating skills. How's the progress so far? Things right on schedule? China will be caving in any day?

As if SuperLib could get China to negotiate in good faith.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

bass: No, it’s the socialists that are trying to turn the US into a giant Cuba.

Venezuela. You're supposed to use Venezuela.

Since liberals don’t want to do anything about China

Once again we're debating "doing something about it" vs "doing something stupid about it." Just because I don't go along with stupid GOP positions doesn't mean I don't want to solve the problem. You guys really struggle with that concept. Don't want a stupid wall? Then you want open borders!

It would be like me saying if you don't support Obamacare then you support people dying without health insurance. I'm guessing you don't support either of those, but instead want another option. And I bet it would grow tiresome to hear me tell you that you support people dying every time you say something against Obamacare. It's a wasted conversation when we're both looking for a solution.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

But what will happen to Trump's made-in-China MAGA hats? I bet there are no Americans willing to work for as little as Chinese to manufacture things like that. Oh, wait, there were, but ICE drove them out of the country.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

It is Trump and his supporters that are the biggest threat to the US.

No, it’s the socialists that are trying to turn the US into a giant Cuba. Want proof of it, go to California. The mix of stench socialism and fascism permeates the air and the soul of its corrupt politicians.

Great. So instead of eliminating the trade deficit, we'll just shift it to another country.

Since liberals don’t want to do anything about China, in time we can make the deficit and turn it into a surplus, Vietnam would love it.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

I wish someone would explain how moving production to Vietnam benefits the US trade deficit or US workers.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Serrano: Screw China. They need a deal more than we do.

I see you went to Trump University to learn your negotiating skills. How's the progress so far? Things right on schedule? China will be caving in any day?

Bass: But productions will probably move over to Vietnam. So it’s all good.

Great. So instead of eliminating the trade deficit, we'll just shift it to another country.

Northernlife: China still is sitting on all that US debt ready to dump when they feel they need to

China can't dump US debt without taking a substantial loss on their end. There aren't many countries with a trillion dollars sitting around to take it off their hands, and it's the debt that helps fuel US spending for Chinese products.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

What Trump is doing with China should have been done decades ago but they did not have the smarts or the balls to challenge China.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

It is Trump and his supporters that are the biggest threat to the US.

Noooooo, it's the Democrats and their open borders, gov't-run healthcare for everyone who manages to get into the U.S., higher taxes...

China knows it's on the ropes. We are their biggest business partner. If we weren't, they would already have begun cajoling other countries (Canada, the EU, etc.) into allowing them to pick their pockets via unfair tariffs. Let the anti-American socialist-based globalist economies to the rescue of their like-minded buddies; the Chicoms.

Couldn't agree more. Don't you think immigrants should go back to their own countries and make those places better?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Actually they did, but it wasn’t until Trump came along and did something about it

Contradicting yourself in the span of a single sentence. Smooth.

Chinese-made banners at your next Trump rally - all the while Trump is ranting against China...

The Chinese Communist Party, CCP, some just shorten it to Chi-Comms, run a command economy, what some call 'state capitalism', or 'authoritarian capitalism'. Given Trump's background as a predatory capitalist, and the support he gets from other predatory capitalists, it makes sense that he and Ivanka are able to have close ties with the CCP and with corrupt rulers and oligarchs worldwide.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

*Manufacturers are already hard at work churning out banners for President Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign — in China.*

But productions will probably move over to Vietnam. So it’s all good.

Total fail. The stuff for 2020 is being made in China NOW - while Trump is saying China is an unfair trade partner and companies are "hereby banned" from doing business in China - except Trump's business of course... He's a con-man in plain sight....

America First means US farmers will soon be broke.

Ok, so it’s going back to letting the farmers getting screwed again, follow the status quo again and let China walk all over us that will eventually kill the farmers! That’s the liberal way, appeasement and capitulation, I prefer short term pain and liberals no term gain.

Actually its farmers, steelworkers, autoworkers, folks that work at Walmart - or in other words - mostly Trump voters, who won't be conned into voting for him again...

Have fun waving your Chinese-made banners at your next Trump rally - all the while Trump is ranting against China...

You know, like Trump telling you there's an INVASION on the border all the while employing cheap illegals at his properties...

Maybe a few of the sheep will open their eyes to the big con job.....

China has had a free ride with a huge trade imbalance with the US and now the scales are tipping to even and they are making a fuss. Thank goodness for President Trump who has had the courage to stand up to China the worst bully in the international world today. Time to put things back on a fair basis.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

America, pull out of China! Do it before China pollutes the rest of the world with their cheap, unsafe and toxic products.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Americans businesses i.e. the bigs stop buying "made in China" period. Go elsewhere to other countries to get products to sell and with much better quality. Until the Chinese goods stop coming into the US then and only then will it stop them in their tracks. Same applies to all US alliances stop buying Chinese goods and see who much better the world will be instead of manipulative tactics by the Chinese. No more in the name of good relations and business commerce. For the Chinese it has and always will be the CCP first, that's it. Simply the US was too trusting of China.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I'm sure some Trump supporters are working for China/Russia.

The last administration started back in 2011, so I think it’s the other way around.

They are determined to allow Trump to destroy the US economy.

But he didn’t. If he did, we would have been in a deep recession now, try again please.

America First means US farmers will soon be broke.

China, stand your ground, don't be bullied or intimidated by the US.

They should, it’s easier to wreck their economy, ours suffers as well, but China’s its very bad for them, so Trump should equally stand his ground. Mr. President, even Chuck Schumer is on your side, you got this!

Neither did conservatives or they would have taken action under Bush II or when they held both houses of Congress.

Actually they did, but it wasn’t until Trump came along and did something about it. Democrats were too busy implementing their radical socialist policies.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

The Chinese side strongly urges the U.S. side not to misjudge the situation, not to underestimate the determination of the Chinese people,

A fairly obvious threat by the Chinese aimed at the brits. All while complaining of being bullied by the US. Unable or unwilling ( or both ) to see the obvious hypocrisy of their rhetoric and claims. Hold onto your buckles folks. Gunna be a bumpy ride.

APRECIATE the great business you have done with USA that gave Chine economic miracle

RECIPROCATE trade and allow some USA product in that many Chinese want without the high taxes.

I understand Trump is making some new banners to fly at his rallies, they'll say....

"China is an unfair trader, it manipulates its currency and flouts trade rules. People and companies that make their products in China instead of in the US with American workers should be ashamed - they are UN-AMERICAN!"

There is s small tag on each banner saying "Proudly Made in China by Chinese Workers, at the same factory as Trump Ties and Ivanka Shoes"...

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Thank God Trump is standing his ground and pushing back on them and continuing to be unrelenting.

*Manufacturers are already hard at work churning out banners for President Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign — in China.*

According to a Reuters report Wednesday, China’s Jiahao Flag Co. has produced more than 90,000 “Trump 2020: Keep America Great!” banners and flags since March...

Do you know if Trump/Ivanka Inc. will be able to keep the trademarks they've arranged with the CCP?

They can always move them to Vietnam. As I said, liberals care more about that then China, no wonder they can’t get elected to anything. Focus on Ivanka and Trump will focus on China. Lol

They didn’t care that China was flooding our stores with their cheap goods and then not buying any of our products, products that millions of people want and smuggle to bring back into China.

The level of dishonesty in the fake corporate media is astounding. Trump laid out convincingly why situation with China is unsustainable, the press reduced that to sneering commentary about out of context quotes, and dimwit "arguments" about some consumer products being more expensive. It is truly pathetic.

Why and what do liberals care about trade disputes with China? They never cared before, never cared until this President took office, as with typical socialists, they care more about the wellbeing of China over the US, so that shouldn’t come as a surprise and why would they care about the people in this country being screwed and squeezed by China, they prefer the old status quo of the old order. They didn’t care that China was flooding our stores with their cheap goods and then not buying any of our products, products that millions of people want and smuggle to bring back into China. Thank God Trump is standing his ground and pushing back on them and continuing to be unrelenting.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

The American press hates America! China has been ripping off America and the west for years and has gotten away with it. The west built China and the west should stand in solidarity and cripple her unfair trade practices. Trump got it right this time.

That would be all the media except INFOWARS, Breitbart, and Russia Today....

Two-year olds have a difficult time laying out anything convincingly, unless you call throwing a tantrum convincing...

It is truly pathetic.

You've just summed up everything post Jan 20th 2017....

Chinas trade with the US comprises 3.8% of Chinese GDP. I’m not sure if it’ll be that bad for them. Just 3.8% with 6% annual growth.

Trump gave an order for US corporations to leave China. This is basically putting in the subs in a game that’s lost.

Can Trump just tell and force American businesses to leave China? A democracy is not a monarchy. What’s the difference?

WTO should be doing something about all the former "developing nations" that have achieved their goal already while they are at it.
