China is not supporting Russia. China state banks are restricting funding for Russian commodities.

There is ZERO trust of China as well as Russia. ZERO. They are helping each other in a lot more ways than ONE.

One needs to understand this is merely a temporary marriage of convenience for these two historical foes...

Russia has always viewed China warily - understanding China would quickly move north over the border and occupy the southern regions of Russia near Mongolia if it could. They also know China has steadily stolen Russian military technology and copies their aircraft and missiles....

China on the the hand knows Russia's economy is smaller than California, NY, or Texas, and that Russians aren't gong to be buying all those Chinese-made goods...

But they both desire a US fighting internally and divorced from Europe and it's Pacific allies, which is what we saw from 2016-20....

So there'll be limited support and cooperation - but this is not a robust pact - and China in particular will quickly bail on Russia if it's interests are threatened...

What does America wants from China? Cooperation with your dirty sanctions? Of course not!

Actually the Sino America relationship US at war, the trade war is still a war!

After the fall of Kiev and Russia declared victory, America's allies will stay away from Washington as Biden is a useless "Supreme Cmdr."

Leaving America crying alone!

China is the only friend that might help Russia blunt the impact of economic sanctions over its invasion of Ukraine, but President Xi Jinping’s government is giving no sign it might be willing to risk its own access to U.S. and European markets by doing too much.

As if the Western neo-liberal oligarchs would risk cutting themselves off from the Chinese markets and industrial infrastructure over Ukraine.

China as usual will benefit not only from the greed of Western capitalism but increased dependence by Russia for its' economic influence. They would seem to be the unqualified winners in this conflict, and will benefit from both sides in the future.

Sure, if aren't OK with the support innocent civilians from a country that has been illegally attacked from a tyrant, OK.

By why do you call the sanctions dirty?

fallll of Kiev and Russia declared victory

"The fall of Kiev", wassaid dismissing the reality that many could die and millions be hurt and displaced, Ukrainians and Russians alike, along with many innocents who just want to live a quiet traditional life in their homeland, and not see an invading army smashing their towns and cities. And that part of the world is put at even greater danger while this era's Napoleon pushes for greater territory to control and tries to accumulate greater wealth for himself and his oligarchs. The 50cent army's Lord Xi has probably already found more ways to take advantage of this mess so he and his CCP pals can accumulate even greater wealth at other's expense. How many 50 cent army warriors are willing to put down their smart phones and fight a war for their lords and masters, instead of just fanning flames in hopes of seeing others die.

China is the most level headed. It will not take sides despite US pressure to do so. It is not on the Russian side. It just focuses on its economy.

President Xi Jinping’s government is giving no sign it might be willing to risk its own access to U.S. and European markets by doing too much.

Practical. Not on the US side but the US is the largest client. Not on Russian side but will buy oil and gas. Take care of your own country first.

“China doesn’t want to get so involved that it ends up suffering as a result of its support for Russia,” said Mark Williams, chief Asia economist for Capital Economics.

No reason for China to make sacrifices over Ukrainian/Russian conflict. Let them handle it.

“We will not take advantage of others’ difficulties,” said Li. “But as an economic entity, Chinese companies will strive for the maximum gains with the possible lowest costs.”

Reasonable and not an opportunist.

China, the world’s second-largest economy, is the only major government not to have condemned the invasion.

China is interested in making money and not condemning people. It is not the world's Karen like the United States. Neither is Japan. All Japan doing is paying lip service.

Moscow and Beijing both are trying to de-dollarize, or use the U.S. currency less in trade

Very practical and you would do the same. Why give the US leverage? Who wants to be held hostage by the US. China and Russia will trade in their currency. Eliminate the middle man.

“We demand that relevant parties should not damage the legitimate rights and interests of China and other countries,” said the spokesman, Wang Wenbin.

If you do not want to trade with Russia, then don't. Don't force others to do what you want them to do.

There isn't a US side. The conflict is between Russia and Ukraine. Are they on the Ukraine side considering that they are illegally under attack from Russia?

China on Friday opposed sanctions on Russia, which the West has imposed over the latter's military intervention in Ukraine, state-run media said.

“China opposes any illegal sanctions that harm Russia’s legitimate rights and interests,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told a news conference in Beijing, according to public broadcaster CGTN.

China's position seems to be that there should be a diplomatic solution to the situation that lead to Russia, after the Ukrainian regime's sponsors rejected the Russian government's pleas to them to force the regime to abide by the diplomatic solution they'd ALL agreed, to try first a last ditch effort to get across to the US and UK that it wouldn't stand idle while the regime's militias started to slaughter the population of East Ukraine by escalating those attacks from a 'civil war' to a breach of international law by recognizing Donetsk and Luhansk as sovereign nations, and when the US and UK rejected even considering asking the regime to refrain from starting a war with those countries, responded to a request by the legitimate governments of those two countries for military assistance in their war of self defense.

Refusing to acknowledge that China sees Donetsk and Luhansk as at least as sovereign as the portion of Ukraine the regime has been able to keep hold of with its sponsor's help doesn't change the Chinese position, it just allows one to deliberately misinterpret it.

After the fall of Kiev and Zelensky's execution,

You seem to be completely OK with the murder of an individual. Can you explain why?

many western companies will rush to Moscow to negotiate the rebuilding of Ukraine or other business opportunity in that country, the Nordstream 2 will beginning supply gas to Germany.

No they won't

Nobody wants to upset Mr.Putin and losing theirown fortunes!

Unless you are a coward I think most people would want to confront Putin.

It is all about the money. The Chinese government will straddle the fence to identify what decision is in their best interest.

Unless the free world stand up to these demagogues, who bathe in the blood of there own people, poisoning and imprisoning any whiff of freedom, democracy, the right to live and breath........

The right to life and liberty, freedom from slavery and torture, freedom of opinion and expression, the right to work and education.

Both the Russian and Chinese Governments are a stain on humanity

This brutality has to stop now!!

That could mean a Global confrontation.

What is left of democracy if it is decided by just two dictators?

Think carefully. time to call them out. hammer down

the US did it! They directly sanctioned Putin himself! He is ruined!

The sanctions will freeze all assets in U.S. territories or banks. Since the individuals likely do not have major assets in the U.S., the sanctions are largely symbolic

oh…..never mind.
