Xi will talk for about ten minutes and Trump will do an about-face like he did with ZTE.

China is going to blink and President Trump and the US will win, again.

Beijing's exports to the United States have at least temporarily defied forecasts they would weaken after being hit by punitive U.S. tariffs of up to 25 percent.

For $200 of the $250 billion of U.S tariffs on Chinese imports, 4/5ths, the rate is 10%, not 25%.

The article should be revised.

Trump's a POLITICIAN whose re-election is subject to the fluctuating whims of the US electorate and perhaps more importantly the financial health of his major campaign contributors.

The US Congress is made up of politicians whose re-elections are subject to the fluctuating whims of the electorate and the financial health of their major campaign contributors.

The effects of Trump's trade war will affect election results.

Xi's a dictator for life.

For that reason among so many others, advantage Xi.

Good on the President for holding the line.

China is going to blink and President Trump and the US will win, again.

Yup! Slam dunk for the US

US and China is going to either make a deal, or split. No matter what, Japan has to be prepared.

Only conservstibes can look at the widening deficit with China and claim Trump is being effective.

As if liberals know anything about economics other than robbing Paul to give to Peter and Marxist income redistribution traits and rewarding people with high taxes.

None of this has any basis in reality.

Bass, I know you told us you’ve had articles published in the economics section of the Washington Post, but you must admit some liberals also have knowledge of economics other than what you posted.

@bas4 As if liberals know anything about economics

That's an admission of never having taken an economics course in either secondary school or university.

Of course individuals are free to express opinions on any topic regardless their knowledge of the topic, but they certainly make themselves and the side they claim to represent look limited when doing so.

Xi's about to get with the program.

You are right, but I think as long as the President holds the line, Xi will come to the table. As painful as it is, the President can't give in and China is showing some cracks and that's because they never had a President that pushed back on China, so I applaud the President and his efforts for at least sticking to his convictions and pushing on this and if Chuck Schumer approves of it, then you know you are doing the right thing.

oh you mean like Trump $trillion tax cut which is expected to cost the US tax payer $1.5trillion over the long term. https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/12/8/16751032/senate-house-republican-tax-plan-deficit-spending-cuts

You need Schumer's agreement to know something is correct? Weird given you bash Schumer constantly.

Abe is probably thinking, No boss, please don't.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Someone as dumb as Trump will, once again, be made a fool of by Xi.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

You need Schumer's agreement to know something is correct?

Because then the Democrats can shut up.

Weird given you bash Schumer constantly.

Don’t worry, he’ll be criticized when needed.

"Someone as dumb as Trump will, once again, be made a fool of by Xi"

Lessee... the guy had zero political experience... virtually all of the media was against him... Hillary Clinton had virtually all of Hollywood and Barack Obama and his wife campaigning for her... the polls had Hillary with a 90% chance to win with the biggest Electoral College prize, California guaranteed...

"Dumb" Trump won the election.  And which economy is now suffering due to the tariff war with Chynah? Hint: Not the U.S. economy.

It's baffling how anyone can cling to the myth that Trunp is intelligent. He does have a knack for performing, but that does not mean he is intelligent.

Just ask the right what they think of the performers in Hollywood and NYC. They constantly tell us how stupid performers are.

Well, if that were true, I don’t know dumb people that have a jet with their name, a helicopter, property all over the world, yachts, a 14 hit TV show, a building with your own name, golf courses everywhere. Not bad for a dumb person. I’m jealous. Lol

Just ask the right what they think of the performers in Hollywood and NYC.

When they get in the WH or can get a job in Washington, then I might give them some form of respect.

They constantly tell us how stupid performers are.

The Dixie chicks proved that.....by the way, where are they these days?

Ypu needing Schumer's agreement to know something is good results in the Dems shutting up? There is a huge logic leap there.

Don’t worry, he’ll be criticized when needed.

I never worry about conservatives criticizing Dems because conservatives do it whether it's needed.
