Um, no. No they didn’t. US Destroyer entered international waters, transited and exited of its own accord and will continue to do so any damn time it chooses to do so.

The Chinese are going to huff and puff but that’s about it.

Chinese vessels anchored in a disputed area of the South China Sea have dumped human waste and wastewater for years, causing algae blooms that have damaged coral reefs and threatened fish in an unfolding catastrophe.

That's just sad and pathetic

That's just sad and pathetic

They want the waters they operate in overseas to resemble those back home. All that's missing are bloated pig carcasses.

What a lie, that is not what happened. The CCP has got some serious brass ones, over-inflated egos to the max.

This overture is so they can continue to strip mine the ocean's fisheries and call everything else a "farce"...

I'd love to see more assertiveness from the US not only in dealing with maritime issues, but also economic sanctions that cripple the Chinese economy. And its time to really get serious with the other western countries that still maintain good ties with China. No more. Pick a side. China's behavior cannot be tolerated anymore.

Well if would be nice if the US President would say something strong, not just a "US Navy" statement.

At least he agreed with Trump. Again. As much as Biden agrees with Trump's foreign policies, seems either (a) Biden has no clue what to do different or (b) That Trump guy wasnt so bad.

Biden backs Trump rejection of China’s South China Sea claim

So just how does a navy that can't fight it's way out of a wet paper bag "chase away" the Benfold (DDG-65 /Arleigh Burke destroyer)???

Well if would be nice if the US President would say something strong, not just a "US Navy" statement.

I actually find it refreshing that the US President doesn't outwardly show any concern over how his people implement their orders. It is nice to have a President that doesn't think 50 stories a day need to be about something stupid he did or said.

China has been subsidizing 200+ ton fishing ships so they would hang out in those international waters. Then they can put 5 of those ships around any single coast guard from any non-Chinese ship and hide whatever they want because a 200-400 ton ship isn't tiny.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-40944886 Chinese raping Ecuador's fisheries.

The boats need to be confiscated every time they are caught violating international law. Then sunk to create fresh reef material.

So Chinese forces followed a US destroyer as it sailed through the South China sea. I guess they were lost and needed US assistance to find their way.

The US destroyer was not "chased" anywhere. They were not at full speed so were clearly not being chased.

Next time they should drop anchor for a few hours and let the crew enjoy some fishing for a nice fresh seafood dinner. I wonder what the Chinese would have to say about that? Illegal fishing in International waters?

China is a joke and so are its claims of ownership of international waters and other nations recognized EEZ in the South China sea area. The cry like schoolyard children when people ignore their demands. So funny.

"China firmly deplores and rejects the wrongdoings of the United States," Zhao said at a regular news briefing.

And then in the very next paragraph . . .

" . . . swarms of Chinese vessels anchored in a disputed area of the South China Sea have dumped human waste and wastewater for years, causing algae blooms that have damaged coral reefs and threatened fish in an unfolding catastrophe."

And this is the country that wants to be the world's number one superpower? God help us all if that ever happens. China doesn't give a crap about anybody, and apparently it thinks it has the right to think this way.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Yes, I heard such. So I guess the answer is (a) and (b).

Biden has nothing better and Trump wasnt so bad on foreign policy after all, as he just kept what Obama did for this.

You do realise that Trump continued Obamas stance on the South China Sea yeah?

One US Submarine should do it.

One US Submarine should do it.

There won't be much of a Chinese navy left for the skimmers and airdales to shoot at after the US Navy subs get through with them.

You need to look at the current PLAN order of battle. They have a better surface fleet than the Soviets ever dreamed of. Combined with their land based airpower and missiles they will be a very tough adversary if it ever comes down to a military confrontation. Their generals saw what happened to Iraq during Desert Storm and were stunned at western technology. They work very hard to match every western capability and then some when they can.

Correction it is the Asianan sea. 5 or 6 other country shores share this sea China is just one of 6 . No it not the South China Sea it name is the Asinan Sea

That’s all only toy boats of a bygone military era. Those quasi static targets are easily to take out of the scenario with low efforts. Some mines or torpedoes , maybe an additional air raid for the biggest ones and all the swimming wrecks are only sinking coffins and graves in a sudden. You’ve seen an example when they of the 7th fl. peacefully multiple times rammed the civil container ships or tankers. Nothing’s much left of the little toys immediately.

Nowadays you can only decide a conflict by air supremacy, missiles, satellites, IT and of course finally you always need capable land forces to really step in. That’s why Afghanistan is lost, air supremacy complete but ground forces capable of nothing. Summed up, I wouldn’t give a dime to any navy anymore. That’s obsolete kindergarten play, only dangerous to the very own sailors, servicemen and servicewomen.

America's Silent Service is one of the world's best.

GO NAVY!

China is all bark and no bite. I'm not a fan of the US but I'm certain US fleets could and would destroy China if provoked enough.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Heck, the US toppled the Iraqi regime in a day... Although that was a huge mistake that we are still feeling the repercussions to this day. The US ruined Vietnam. The US destroyed Japan after being provoked. Going back further, the US seized the Philippines from the Spanish in a matter of weeks. Although they had a lot of help in that the Filipinos assassinated their best military commander, Gen. Luna, who was their best shot at defeating the Americans. My point is, don't provoke the US because they will eventually retaliate and the world will have to bear the consequences because the US doesn't care.

And Biden is saying what to Xi? How is Biden making sure the Chinese won’t step over line? They don’t fear him. They know what he won’t do is pretty much nothing. Since this administration has been in power these guys are so emboldened, seems like they try and try to rest and push this guy and with each transgression, they take a little more.

The PLAN reminds me of our little dog.

The Sagawa guy comes to our house with a package and rings the door bell.

Our little dog starts to bark incessantly.

I sign for the package and the Sagawa guy goes away.

Our little dog stops barking satisfied in knowing that he chased the Sagawa guy away.

Mission accomplished.

You don't have any idea what President Biden says to Xi,

I know this much, nothing that Biden says to that man will even trigger an eyebrow on his head.

but according to you guys, that was Hunter Biden's dept?

That as well.

China fears the US Navy

Evidently they don’t if they realize and understand that our commander in chief is not going to do anything, otherwise Russia and China wouldn’t be this emboldened

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Where is your proof?

Have China or Russia either of them toned down their rhetoric? Even a little?

Now you believe what the Chinese government says. Very patriotic of you.

No, but I definitely don’t believe this administration or the US msm either, but according to Australian news sources, China seems un-phased and unmoved by Biden and this administration.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

China’s military said it chased a U.S. warship out of a disputed area of the South China Sea

China lies, that is well known.

China is a bully who will threaten everyone until some gives it a bloody nose.

The difference between Biden and the former guy is that Biden has been tough on China and Russia whereas the former guy thought teargassing unarmed protestors was acting tough!!!
