China may defend it interests. The intruded nations will defend their rights.

If they are up for grabs maybe I can move in on an island or two for myself. Is that how we do it China?

DEFENDING INTEREST is what is going on in ME.right !! Then why not.

Of course it's Japan's 'fault' and 'clearly,' Japan is the aggressor here.

No doubt that China shows big bully in the South China Sea.

China is free to defend it's interests. But it's interests shouldn't be right up to the coastlines of other countries. The map in the photo is a joke. This is nothing but "bullying" of smaller weaker nations.

That's just until it's interests move beyond the coast lines and we all get the Tibet treatment.

China says it will defend its interests in South China Sea

Communist China will pay dearly for their aggressive invasion of the South China sea. When the time comes and all is said and done Communist China will claim it was a victim.

But, hopefully after it is all over there will not be a Communist China anymore. Hopefully the people will gain their freedom and the Communist will be prosecuted for their crimes against humanity.

This map is very surprising. It seems something is going on in China behind the scenes, perhaps something else that is more distressing than this map. Why would they take these actions? Is it really to get oil, fish, islands and salt water? Me thinks probably something else going on here. Perhaps trying to show its muscle for domestic purposes. I hope it is not really trying to start a war with these countries or their allies. That would truly be a shame that could not be erased, and which would certainly end in defeat and losses on both sides. Accordingly, I think that is unlikely too.

Maybe an expansive Pacific fleet territory MeMyselandEye. Not war....yet. Secure and strengthen the region first.

These are the Chinese communists saying this, what say the vast majority of Chinese?

China is such a joke, when I read and hear these claims, China is just too funny. The country may have the biggest military in the world, but when was the last time, China fought in an aggressive war? When were they on a battlefield. How much of their weaponry is tested, how many of the soldiers are hardened warriors with years of combat experience? China really thinks to highly of itself on every level. They've been taking cues from their Russian counterparts and think, they can do the exact same thing in the same fashion. If they make one false move, the outcome will be very different than what happened in Crimea.

Ossan -- 100% agree. But I think it is in the best interest of the U.S. for China to continue its bluster, because all that is doing is pushing more and more countries, like the Philippines, towards the U.S. side. And as much as you may dis-like Obama -- and he has mis-handled a lot of foreign policy issues -- his Asian pivot is giving these countries reassurance at a critical time.

Also Iraq and Afghanistan and smaller conflicts as well.

Good LUCK. i'm SURE the US Navy has been wanting to try out some new hardware in " Live Fire " exercises. It will give the Marines on Okinawa something to DO.

Maybe a start would be all come together and force China into complying with international laws of the sea and all join together along with the US since it would be upholding international laws, and force China out of others economic zones. As for claiming entire seas, that would be another issue that again after making China comply to international laws, then confront them on this crazy sense of trying to claim and own entire seas, no one else lays claim to entire seas in the world so why should any one let China get away with such bull sht! Also no one should stand by and let China go far off its shores into the South China sea claiming islands that are right off the coasts of others!

That Chinese claim-line on the map... really? Really really?

I can't see that abomination as anything but a bad joke.

China knows it is arrogant ,it is bully, it is irrational ,it is greedy...but China also believe that it is so powerful it can push successfully in ANY direction it wants. Can anyone stop that ?, then prove it! .That's what China is waiting.

I guess they want America to stay strong in the Pacific for a long time.

Considering that the Chinese Communist Party is the ONLY party in China, and the Chinese citizen has no right to vote them out, and it's illegal to express an opinion counter to the official State position, what do you think they will say?

A whole lot. You do realize that the Chinese regularly use the net to criticize their government actions, right?

And you do realize that the government censors that right?

And you realize they only censor a small percentage of that, right?

If mainland Chinese had the right to vote they will have voted for a extereme right wing party and have had a military conflict already seeing how the present CCP had ranked up the entire nation to nationalism.

Basically PRC's present general populous's sentiments is similar to Japan's sentiments circa 1930's when Japan succeeded in a rapid economic ascension but denied of territorial expansion which the European nations had done 50~100 years ago in the same fashion. During those time Japan's demographics were also the same where large portion of the population was still in proverty with 3% of the population owning 80% of the national wealth with a growing middle class full of pride of what they had accomplished but frustrated with the situation wanting to change the present quo.
