Sounds more like a temper tantrum to me.

It’s definitely put the brakes in your rise China....and that’s a good thing for the planet.

Certainly has not help US farmers! Trump First, to hell with the rest.

The primary issue at play is that the trade is lopsided. China is exporting way way way more goods to the US than it's importing. Just the way they like it.

Can't wait for China to 100% halt all rare earth materials to the US. Once the weapon companies start screaming the WH will panic and "seek talks", but hopefully China still refuses. They can get their soybeans from Brazil, which is quite happy at the moment with the trade war Trump started. They can get other and export their goods elsewhere. When the US slinks back to them to come back, it won't be China that suffers, same is China is not suffering as much as the US now. It's already more than $1500 up on a car you should have bought last week, and forget about what cell phones and similar goods are going to cost you in the near future. But hey, it's China and Mexico paying, right? haha. Americans deserve what they get.

Arturo Jamilla, the Chinese surplus is even higher under trump.

One thing is for sure. We finally have China's attention.

Can't wait for China to 100% halt all rare earth materials to the US. Once the weapon companies start screaming the WH will panic and "seek talks", but hopefully China still refuses

If China is dumb enough to do that, we will 100% halt all imports from China. Once Chinese companies start screaming Xi JinPing will panic and seek talks.

But China said the U.S. should bear "sole and entire responsibility" for the breakdown,

Of course they did, admitting even part responsibility during disagreements is something that takes honesty, character and maturity. All things lacking by the CCP. They keep demanding respect from the West, yet can’t even get to the start-line

The irony is that America is actually doing China a big favor by pushing them even more and incentivizing them to make the transition into a consumer-driven economy by increasing the value of their currency so their own people can buy the stuff they produce. All the reformers in China are cheering this trade war and using it to advance their cause.

China needs to dump all US treasuries, and then use all that money to cut down all taxes, so their people can retain a bigger part of their income, and thus have higher purchasing power to buy the stuff that they produce. They need to privatize their state-owned companies and stop subsidizing them. Once they stop doing that, their currency will rise in value, and now Chinese people will be able to afford to buy all the stuff they produce, then their companies will shift from exporting what they produce, to selling it on their own domestic market.

They have been talking about doing this for almost a decade now, but the vested interests inside the country are so massive that they haven't been able to do it yet. Once you merge big businesses with politics, you create powerful vested interests who will fight to their death to maintain their status quo. America is giving them all the incentives they need, will they manage to do it, remains to be seen.

All good with me. The trade war has caused US beef prices to fall. We thank Trump every time we buy a US steak dinner in Japan.

Reminds me of what Kissinger said about the Iran/Iraq war: "A pity they can't both lose." I think the same thing about the trade war between the US and China - except I think they both actually can lose in this case.

It definitely hasn’t made China great either. China is not unscathed by this, this is hurting them just as much as it hurts us, the difference is, their media outlets will never talk about it publicly.

YuriOtani - I didn't call out any president, as I'm not as bitter as you about politics. It doesn't matter which president had a higher or lower percentage, it's that its never been even close to fair.

You can love or hate Trump - no care of mine - but he's bringing up topics which previous Presidents have failed to act on.

I do not want products with older low-performance CPUs.

Mobile phones, home game consoles, PCs, etc.

Chinese spies are still going on.

27,May Local law enforcement agencies have seized a Chinese industrial spy who has stolen hundreds of confidential documents from a technology-based foreign company.

Nor has it made the United States of America great again.

China is exporting way way way more goods to the US than it's importing. Just the way they like it.

and why should China buy only American goods. plenty of other countries make quality affordable products that the Chinese consumers want, nobody is forcing Americans to buy Chinese products , they're just addicted to cheap imports. Ironically the tarriffs/taxes hurt people of lower incomes the most , majority of those are red states

Certainly has not help US farmers! Trump First, to hell with the rest.

Farmers are getting government tax money to help. The GOP gives socialist handouts to these types of industries to keep their votes, and it's easy since it's I'm guessing a vast majority of family farmers are white. Same with coal miners. It's a dead industry but it's mostly white and they vote so the GOP engages in socialism.

Struggling with no jobs or no livable wages in inner cities? Well, you should have gone to college, you can always flip burgers, America doesn't believe in socialist handouts, etc. Different stance entirely.

"Trade wars are easy to win." - Trump

Trade wars are a lose-lose proposition. China lopsidedly benefits from decades of trade policy that was implemented by past Republican politicians, at the behest of American corporations. The economic problems facing the U.S. will not be solved by tariffs, but the man-child in the White House is too dumb to understand that, so he relies on ideas that benefit no one.

this is hurting them just as much as it hurts us, the difference is, their media outlets will never talk about it publicly.

and their president is there for life, now whether you agree with China political climate doesn't matter , their in it for the long game and will still be there long after Trump is gone and some sanity has been brought back to the oval office. Just remember Trump policies can be unwritten just as easily as he put them there, China's policies not so easily erased

Americans deserve what they get.

That right, the early bird gets the worm.

I am in the U.S. at the moment. Seems really good here.

It definitely hasn’t made China great either.

China never claimed it would. Unlike Trump. I don't think he's going to like the Chinese pointing out his failures

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Ha! China pointing out anyones "failures". Yep. the chinese government has great credibility. Im all ears for their next pearls of wisdom.
