She cannot even think for herself, who is spreading propoganda

he said the U.S. was fueling tensions

The operative word in the above is 'fueling' China needs its partner Russia to keep providing oil and gas so the Chinese economy can grow even stronger along with the Chinese military and of course the same with Putin's military.

At this point it looks like the China/Russia/Iran consortium will be the global power. Who knows whether they will be better for us plebes than preceding empires were, but I doubt it. Assuming Xi/ Putin and the Ayatollah are willing to share power, which given their respective histories as megalomaniacs doesn't seem very likely.

China and Russia have shown their models of predatory state capitalism can make their wealthiest richer and more powerful and their armies stronger than the 'west's version of predatory market capitalism. Breathe their exhaust fumes Milton Friedman fans.

Far rightists who've been pushing anti-democracy pro-authoritarian messages, you have got your wish. Live with it! Borscht and boiled cabbage are healthy.

You lost WW2, but it looks like 'tomorrow belongs to you' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDuHXTG3uyY

She said the U.S. was fueling tensions by providing defensive weapons to Ukraine,

That was Bass’ idea.

China is wrong.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

So having almost 200K troops with tanks and mortars on your door step creates no fear? OK, Xi. How are the Uyghurs doing btw?

Let China and Russia stand together while we all stop doing any kind of business with them. They are not our friends and do not deserve to profit off our superior governance.

More examples of the Russian-Chinese strategic pact to confront Biden and help get their Stooge Trump or a similar dictator-friendly Repub back in office....

And remember when you're wearing that Trump Collection shirt or tie, it was made in a CCP Chinese sweatshop...

Preceding empires?? Anyway, they won’t be. This is one reason why IS pushed for energy independence. None of these countries would have been held hostage or had to deal with Russia. Trump on his way, but Biden is now President and Biden canceled the Keystone pipeline and without a doubt the Europeans have no choice but to deal with Putin.

Assuming Xi/ Putin and the Ayatollah are willing to share power, which given their respective histories as megalomaniacs doesn't seem very likely.

They might, especially knowing this administration will not stop and stand in their way.

All the more reason why you never want to be on the losing end when it comes to the possibility of war and energy resources especially thousands of everyday products that needs and depends on oil to operate.

Far rightists who've been pushing anti-democracy pro-authoritarian messages,

No one has been doing that, no one. But it is worth knowing how this administration didn’t see this coming when the rest of us did. Liberals see the world for what they want it to be and not how it is.

you have got your wish. Live with it! Borscht and boiled cabbage are healthy.

And for the next 9 months that may be true. Never liked that stuff.

But it is worth knowing how this administration didn’t see this coming when the rest of us did.

That’s the most backwards thing I’ve read in a while.

Just because the commies say a lot of things doesn't mean they're true.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

That’s the most backwards thing I’ve read in a while.

No, it’s spot on. This administration continues to get played again and again and again

A few scenarios

Putin does nothing - allies exhaust themselves - Republicans attack Biden - Trumpist comes into office - NATO/EU disengaged.

or

Putin increases tension on the LPR/DPR border - Ukraine reacts - Putin invades Kyiv - new cold war - Trumpist takes office.

or

Putin does nothing and waits for NATO expansion - then invades Kyiv before Ukraine joins NATO.

It is hard to come up with a set of decisions by which the US comes out ahead. The only scenario would be if the US manages to cause significant damage to the Russian economy to the point where Putin gets overthrown and is replaced by a pro-US President.

The trouble is that you cannot cripple the Russian economy without China’s help so at that point you are either going to have to throw East Asia under the bus or shoot yourself in the foot and sanction China.

Instead of attempting and failing to drive a wedge between China and Taiwan, the US should work towards a Sino-Soviet split.

energy resources especially thousands of everyday products that needs and depends on oil to operate.

Making my point, fossil capitalism has kept the world from progressing, kept us dependent on burning huge amounts of fossil fuels, enabled the Putin, MbS, MbZ, Larry Fink sorts to control global economies, and limited competition. Vote out politicians, regardless political party, that are controlled by big fossil fuel interests.

And if 'oil' is such a valuable commodity why is it burned in such huge amounts. That seems like a waste to me.

Where are the 'free market', assuming there ever was such a thing, entrepreneurs who can give us alternatives to burning such huge amounts of oil. Recall how successful (Amazon is unfortunately, because it became one of the planets biggest users of fossil fuels and thereby one of its biggest polluters) but at the beginning the 'establishment' mocked it, said it wouldn't work, it was too soon, the world wasn't ready for it.

There must be some entrepreneurs out there with better alternatives to Exxon-Mobil, Rosneft, BP, Shell, ADNOC/Total/Saudi Aramco and other fossil corporations. Or is US 'free-market' capitalism, incapable of adjusting to a new era. We moved away from animal power, moved away from burning coal, so we can move away from burning huge amounts of toxic fumes spewing oil and gas, but the fossils running the global economy and their supporters will not allow it. Freedom to me includes moving away having more alternatives, including not being controlled by the fossils. Be they in DC, London, Texas, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait, the UAE or anywhere else.

Every country on earth thinks that's a good idea.

The only country that doesn't agree is the US, which has 500 bases outside of its territory.

Only 500? I think you’re off by about 300.

If Trump was the president China would not dare to accuse USA .....

This weak guy Biden and his Kamala are buffoons...

After Afghanistan now Ukraine...

Next Taiwan ....

The world is looking for Trump to save them....

That is not entirely true, there have been a lot of great progress made when it comes to renewable energy, but it is not quite there as of yet that is sustainable and reliable to the point where we can stop the production of fossil fuels, it will come one day, but that day is not here yet.

And if 'oil' is such a valuable commodity why is it burned in such huge amounts. That seems like a waste to me.

To you, but for the rest of the world we need it for literally everything

Well, there are different alternative options being developed and being experimented with. Again, if a man can find oils replacement for everyday usage that would be a fantastic new chapter

Hmmm, the only thing we can do at this point is to encourage future entrepreneurs to develop other fuel sources, but until then we should use all the natural resources we have, if you don't then you stop the production of basic everyday goods and that can't happen, it won't happen, all the more reason in the case of the US we should be completely energy independent

Yes, China is right.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

China says U.S. creating 'fear and panic' over Ukraine :

Perhaps not necessary to say that.

Most people in the world who could use their brains to think would have already known that right from the beginning..

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Really?! Well you should tell them to stop bombing Kiev and tell the invading soldiers to stop in their tracks.

Sheesh! And this is the country that wants to lead the world to a better tomorrow? I don’t think so!

China and Russia . . . A beast with two heads.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

The allegiance between Russia and China poses an additional risk for the defense of Taiwan as an independent state - particularly for the US with upholding its promise to protect Taiwan in the event of aggression from China.

Through into the picture, the unstable antics of North Korea, and we have a powder keg situation approaching us all.

There is a simple solution to deescalate. Russia pulls back at least 50% of the people and equipment from inside Ukraine (2013). Have some talks for how to remove the other 50%.

Support the 1994 Ukraine security guarantees that Russia, Germany and the US signed in Budapest when Ukraine gave up all their nuclear weapons.

Seems pretty simple.

This entire issue is Russia's doing.
