I impatiently await the time

when the majority on this forum have their eyes opened.

Then you could see as the few minority here do, the absolute and complete amount of corruption that is present in almost every aspect of our lives.

China sits at the helm.

Believe it, or don’t.

People united are far more powerful than divided.

China says WHO plan to audit labs in COVID origins probe 'arrogant'

The CCP does not need to worry. If it is the WHO that runs the probe, the Wuhan Corona labs will be certified as squeaky clean.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

It has been fairly well explained that the virus work being done at Wuhan simply could NOT have resulted in the COVID-19 virion. But, that being said, if one is paying attention to details of both virology and the psychopathic behaviors of all major governments, that a China hostile State agency of, say, the U.S. or one of the U.S.'s psychopathic allies, having conducted and been caught conducting false flag operations in the past could well have set this loose with just the purpose of creating hostility, possibly to the point of armed response, to further their own national ends. Who, outside of China, seems to have been MOST successful in defeating the virus may well be the most likely place to look for the pathology that would loose a pandemic upon the World for their own ends.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

The natural origin is still the most likely explanation for the COVID pandemic, by a huge lot.

You don’t have the qualification and expertise to state that. Whatever you brag about is therefore pointless and meaningless.

lab origin as if it was the only explanation (even with clear evidence against it)

This is factually wrong and the scientific community which you don’t belong to has not reached a consensus about it. Serious people are are not obsessed, they want a scientific and professional investigation of all possible origins of this virus. China has refused that so far, forbidding direct interviews with the lab personnel and free access to the lab facilities and documents for investigation. If China has no issue with the virus origin, they could just make the investigation easier and we could all move on. They aren’t. Instead they chose to bring BS theories and manipulate the truth, even rejecting now that the virus originated naturally in China.

For that reason, serious scientists have the right to consider all origins because there is simply not a strong consensus on a single one.

It is not conjecture. I read the article and you haven't caught anything.

A long post is just a longer lie.

It is not disputed that the WIV engaged in gain of function research or that funding from NIH funding found its way to the team who carried it out.

And this statement is enough to show everything else you wrote is wrong, stop with the conjecture!!!

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

@ulysses

The real question should be whether people with little or no understanding of science should be allowed to spread falsehoods!!!

With respect, you seem to have a poor grasp of facts which are not actually in dispute. Which of these claims do you accept and which do you deny?

1.) The NIH provided a funding grant to the Eco-Health Alliance

2.) Eco-Health funded research at the WIV as part of the grant received from NIH

3.) The research funded by Eco-Health involved bat coronaviruses

4.) The WIV conducts gain of function research

5.) The team funded by Eco-Health at the WIV published papers describing gain of function research carried out with bat coronaviruses

6.) The NIH and Eco-Health deny responsibility on the basis that their funding grants did not explicitly authorize gain of function research to be carried out.

7.) The NIH and Eco-Health deny any knowledge of their funds being used for gain of function research

8.) The NIH and Eco-Health Alliance are being truthful with respect to claim 7.

I accept claims 1,2,3,4,5,6,7. These are thoroughly documented in the BBC article. I reject claim 8 with respect to Eco-Health because they have an incentive to lie and I don't find them to be credible. How about you?

When you bring up conjecture, you know your logic doesn’t have a leg to stand on. You quoted a BBC article without even reading it and when caught trying to deflect.

It is not conjecture. I read the article and you haven't caught anything. It is not disputed that the WIV engaged in gain of function research or that funding from NIH funding found its way to the team who carried it out.

Rand Paul knew he had tested positive for Covid-19 , yet went into the swimming pool.

That man is either an ignorant idiot or a criminal who willfully put others at risk.

If you listen to this man’s conjectures on what the NIH did or did not do, you are a bigger idiot than him!!!

I remember when I beleived the virus came from the Wuhan market. One day I read an article that said Wuhan has a research laboratory and they have hundreds of bat virus's there that they have done experiments with. I was shocked. It became obvious to me that it had escaped from the lab. They took a virus and inserted a protein to make it far worse than it normally would be. China wont admit it and Dr Fauci wont admit that he was behind sending money to the Wuhan Lab to conduct gain of function research. Shi Zhengli, the batwoman of China and anyone who did this GOF research along with anyone who gave money to fund it has committed a gigantic crime against humanity in my opinion. They can lie and deny over and over but that will not change the truth.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

It is entirely possible for the WIV to have used NIH funding to conduct gain of function research

When you bring up conjecture, you know your logic doesn’t have a leg to stand on. You quoted a BBC article without even reading it and when caught trying to deflect.

The real question here is whether there was a failure of oversight at NIH and whether Eco-Health turned a blind eye to get around US rules.

The real question should be whether people with little or no understanding of science should be allowed to spread falsehoods!!!

Reading and comprehension are different skills!!!

You quoted one dubious source but forgot this one

-The NIH and EcoHealth Alliance have also rejected suggestions they supported or funded "gain-of-function" research in China.

Just follow the money. $7.5 million sent and reject suggestion of supporting or funding research in China?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

This seems a good way to approach it.

Let's say we send in James Bond and he finds a vial of the secret poison (I remember this in Moonraker). Then what? When we stop the Wuhan lap run by Dr. Evil that means we haver have to worry about the next variant? More trade barriers? Japan is close to China and they are not blaming some fictional lab stories.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

China's acting like it has something to hide.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

It's not bat soup or wet markets imo. It's these bio labs tied to the military and the Chinese and US in denial refusing to admit and own up to the negligence in working with highly contagious and deadly viruses

The "negligence" is no such thing, research on pathogens is what keep humans only a few step behind instead of a few generations as in previous times. Is what let people develop antivirals, effective therapies and even vaccines for emerging and re-emerging diseases. Thinking that humanity could have produced such effective and safe vaccines without researching on highly contagious and deadly viruses is pure fantasy.

The natural origin is still the most likely explanation for the COVID pandemic, by a huge lot. Introductions of viruses to humans happen all the time, they have keep happening even during the pandemic and it will keep happening in the future, blindly getting obsessed on the lab origin as if it was the only explanation (even with clear evidence against it) helps nothing and it may even makes more difficult to deal with the inevitable next pandemic.

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

@ulysses

Reading and comprehension are different skills!!!

You quoted one dubious source but forgot this one

-The NIH and EcoHealth Alliance have also rejected suggestions they supported or funded "gain-of-function" research in China.

Here are two questions to test your reading comprehension and logic skills:

1.) Do the Eco-Health and NIH deny that the research which ultimately resulted from the WIV can be fairly characterized as gain of function research?

2.) Or, do Eco-Health and NIH merely deny that the funds provided were intended to be used for gain of function research, even if they ultimately were?

Hopefully you can see that these two things are not mutually exclusive. It is entirely possible for the WIV to have used NIH funding to conduct gain of function research and also for the NIH and Eco-Health to claim that they didn't knowingly intend to fund or support this type of research. The real question here is whether there was a failure of oversight at NIH and whether Eco-Health turned a blind eye to get around US rules.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

This is distracting. We need to focus on real science rather than chase Dr. Evil 007 stories.

Surely trying to find out the origins of this virus is real science.

A virus escaping from a lab isn’t a James Bond scenario. I’m not saying it did. I’m saying follow all possible leads. This seems a good way to approach it.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

This is distracting. We need to focus on real science rather than chase Dr. Evil 007 stories. It has been said that origin or CV-19 may never be found just like with Ebola. If the Wuhan lab keeps making new variants then it will be discovered. There is Smallpox in labs in Russia and there is Smallpox in labs in the USA and everyone knows about it. If the Wuhan invented the COVID-19 to derail Trump's presidency for revenge on the trade war then everyone would know about it. China copies stuff still. They are not innovative to make a virus to trash the economy without Non Trump scientists knowing about it. Remember, this is Science and not Hollywood.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Maybe China is preparing another one. So they don’t need anyone visiting the labs to gather evidence for the source of the next pandemic.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

First it was bat soup, then pangolins from South East Asia, then change it to frozen imported meat

It's not bat soup or wet markets imo. It's these bio labs tied to the military and the Chinese and US in denial refusing to admit and own up to the negligence in working with highly contagious and deadly viruses.

Besides the issue of public health and mass inoculation, you have to think about the possibility of states sending virus carrying agents to inflict harm on enemy states in the future.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Now scientific investigation is arrogant? Unsurprising coming from a country which claims to have a "communist" government.

What does this have to do with Democrats or the GOP? Nothing. It has to do with the refusal to allow an honest and scientific investigation to determine the source of the virus and try to prevent future outbreaks.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

The GOP insisted that there was no virus, or it was nothing worse than the flu.

Interesting to see them devoting so much effort on something which didn’t exist for them a few months ago!!!!

That’s a proven lie!!!

It's not. I trust the BBC is a credible enough source for you?

Reading and comprehension are different skills!!!

The NIH and EcoHealth Alliance have also rejected suggestions they supported or funded "gain-of-function" research in China.

Though I am glad you trust the BBC, I’ll make sure to quote from them from now on!!!

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

First it was bat soup, then pangolins from South East Asia, then change it to frozen imported meat, now its from a lab in the US. Never mind that there is a virus lab in Wuhan and impossible to have a "leak" because they said so.

Why WHO is doing a turn around now and asking more access to the Wuhan lab? 1.5 years is enough time to cover their bases and we all know China is very much capable of changing the narrative to push their own agenda.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

U.S. military research lab at Fort Detrick, Maryland.

Fort Detrick Fort Detrick inherited the "devil's legacy," the infamous Unit 731 biological force that was part of the old Imperial Japanese Army. Per files at the US National Archives, from 1946 to 1949, about 60 interviews were conducted with former Unit 731 members at Fort Detrick. U.S. biological warfare experts learned a lot from their Japanese counterparts and tested these weapons.

Germ warfare was used in the Korean War with germ bombs loaded with plague- or cholera-infected fleas, ants and flies. During the Vietnam War, we sprayed defoliant Agent Orange over 10% of land in southern Vietnam, harming 4.8 million Vietnamese then and still haunting many now.

Have you ever been to Saigon or Ho Chi Min City? You can see many handicapped people on streets begging and in parks. America has never taken responsibility for spraying the herbicide over Laos during that War. And Agent Orange was developed by the Fort Detrick Biological Warfare Laboratories.

The Wuhan Institute of Virology receives U.S. government grants. This is what Trump had to say about it in an interview in May 2019.

*Trump, May 14:** Yeah. As I understand it, before I got here, $7.5 million in 2014. And look, they said they were studying different things and you know, things like that happen. But, you know, money was given by the Obama administration early on. … I ended it. … I took a lot of heat too. They said, “Oh, we’re studying all sorts of stuff.” You saw what happened. I ended it.*

To make a long story short, the Japanese came up with this idea and Unit 731 biological force tested it on humans during the war. The US took the baton and tried various weapons in the Korean and Vietnam wars. The lab at Fort Detrick had to shut down due to safety lapses and being highly contagious. The US has contracted the Chinese to conduct research in the name of developing vaccines for public health but also for use as biological weapons. The Chinese no doubt is wants to develop biological weapons.

There is no reason to believe safety lapses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and Fort Detrick aren’t happening at labs in other countries as well. If you like to spice things up a bit, and some melodramatic JT posters do, these are "intentional safety lapses."

It is my opinion that the US got hold of Unit 731 and saw something valuable that could be of use. The Chinese are in on the game. These can't be the only two countries in the world with such labs.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

That’s a proven lie!!!

It's not. I trust the BBC is a credible enough source for you?

Did the US fund virus research in China?

Yes, it did contribute some funds.

the US-based EcoHealth Alliance - was awarded a grant in 2014 to look into possible coronaviruses from bats. EcoHealth received $3.7m from the NIH, $600,000 of which was given to the Wuhan Institute of Virology...

..."The research in both papers was gain-of-function research", he said.

There is no lab origin of the coronavirus. If so then where did the Delta variant come from? The lab as well? Move on!!

One of the funniest comments ever. The delta variant has nothing to do with the origin of the virus, it is a mutation of the virus. Does not say anything about the origin.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Keep the heat on them but it's probably too late to find much.

China and Dr. Fauci are singing a similar tune. Not quite in sync yet. One may think there is collusion somewhere to be found and WHO may know.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

How is it arrogant, China? You would think a country would like to clear its name given the state of affairs around the world. This isn't about your feelings - it's about getting to the bottom of this to ensure we don't make the same mistake again.

Yep. The CCP couldn’t care less about this though.

One thing I've noticed about many Chinese people both in China and abroad, is that they have an almost fanatical belief that China can do no wrong. These people have no problems criticizing and demonizing other countries and peoples, yet the moment anyone dares to say anything negative about China, no matter how true, they immediately get hostile.

Spent much time in China, sport?

Outside of China, I’ve had many coworkers and friends from China who are very open about China’s shortcomings, most notably the corruption of the CCP. I’ve had others defending the CCP. One argument that comes up is that the European powers and the US were not democracies either when they modernized. Doesn’t really wash with me.

In China, criticising the CCP is a different matter. We all know why.

Let’s keep it to criticising the government and not attacking the people, eh. That’s more serious and adult.

This article is about the CCP’s arrogance.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Do we really need an audit of the lab? We already know the Chinese were carrying out gain of function research on bat corona viruses funded by the NIH. What sort of smoking gun are we expecting to find a year after any leak? If it happened, it's likely to be the result of one person's sloppiness rather than a discoverable systemic failure. If it didn't happen, it was only a matter of time until it did.

Virologists, pharmaceutical companies, governments and other BSL4 labs all want to sweep this under the rug and return to business as usual. The last thing they want to acknowledge is that all gain of function research being carried out at similar BSL4 labs is a potential ticking time bomb. If it wasn't a leak at the WIV in 2020, it would be the Indian CCMR in 2030 or Porton Down in 2040 or Fort Detrick in 2050. Blaming the Chinese for refusing to open their doors to a top secret government facility is a very convenient way to distract people from the real issue here.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

China, this needs to be investigated. Stop getting in the way.

13 ( +15 / -2 )

Tedros will back off, and say, "I tried." He wants to cover his tracks because he didn't shut down all Chinese international travel before the 2020 lunar new year. I think he's also coming to the realization that the most recent WHO fact finding trip orchestrated by the CCP turned up zilch.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

No one is surprised by this. This is typical China, now had they’d agreed to an audit, then I would have been astonishingly shocked.

10 ( +14 / -4 )

How to say white wash in Chinese?..

15 ( +18 / -3 )

One thing I've noticed about many Chinese people both in China and abroad, is that they have an almost fanatical belief that China can do no wrong. These people have no problems criticizing and demonizing other countries and peoples, yet the moment anyone dares to say anything negative about China, no matter how true, they immediately get hostile.

19 ( +22 / -3 )

'arrogant'

It is China that is arrogant in thinking that we will blindly believe your excuses and complete lack of transparency and resistance for a real investigation!!!

17 ( +20 / -3 )

No. The WHO plan to audit Chinese labs isn't 'arrogant'. What is arrogant is the way the Chinese government refuses to cooperate with the investigation of a virus that originated in China and has been responsible for the deaths of millions of people worldwide. Now that's arrogance in its purest form.

21 ( +22 / -1 )

Also if they had nothing to hide why not let WHO investigate properly and unhindered.

Why should they? Scientists predict more and worse Pandemics in the future. More variants. Will they come from the same lab? It sounds like some Dr. Evil 007 plot or something.

-20 ( +3 / -23 )

China and america are as bad as each other, they are basically playing a blame game.

there is a lab of virology in Wuhan,

the place where it all began.

china said it was from the wet markets.

America was funding research of coronaviruses in the same lab in Wuhan.

so the scientists were working on a virus like covid 19, but they say that it couldnt of came from the lab that they were researching. yeah sure

8 ( +15 / -7 )

Perhaps: “You came here once this year. We showed you our CoVid ‘museum’ with the ‘real’ truth. Wasn’t that enough?” -

“The U.N. has been under intensifying pressure for a new, more in-depth investigation of how the disease that has killed more than 4m people around the world first emerged.” -

-The WHO was only able to send a team of independent, international experts to Wuhan in Jan, 1yr

“after COVID-19 first surfaced there,…”

to help(?) Chinese counterparts probe the pandemic's origins.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Isn't it too much of a coincidence that one of China's top coronavirus laboratories happens to be located in Wuhan ??

Also if they had nothing to hide why not let WHO investigate properly and unhindered.

25 ( +27 / -2 )

I know why China is saying that...

They are very worried that the truth about the Corona Virus will finally comes to light.

26 ( +28 / -2 )

There is no lab origin of the coronavirus. If so then where did the Delta variant come from? The lab as well? Move on!!

-31 ( +4 / -35 )

Flip-flopping, putting politics ahead of science. No wonder, people don’t trust WHO any more.

16 ( +19 / -3 )

another whitewash to save China....

WHO is a joke

Each official received millions of $$$ from China to hide the truth.

This is just another drama to save China...

Biden and Fauci all are in the same team to protect China. Chinese money shuts up all the mouths...

If WHO is real then why they kept on denying the origin of virus possibility ( human made) until today??????

We tax payers are stupid. We public are ignorant as we believe in the fake media, which is funded by China.

15 ( +23 / -8 )
