Sell them the F-35 at cost along with all the AMRAAMs they can carry.

Some retired LA Class subs as well. No longer top-shelf, but at least as good as anything the Chinese have

And the PRC does not enter the TPP unless and until Taiwan is granted full membership.

China’s feeling out Taiwan by testing and probing its defenses.

Taiwan has AMRAAMs in it's inventory. The cost per flight hour of the F-35 is too great for Taiwan. Heck, it is too much for the USAF and they have made it clear to Lockheed-Martin that if sustainment costs don't come down this year there will be no new orders. Cost per flight hour is higher than an F-15. It's too much. But, obtw, the USAF has a prototype of something else flying called NGAD for Next Generation Air Dominance. Gen. Roper spoke about it many months ago saying it "broke records" but is not being more specific. It is supposedly close to production ready.

Nope for two reasons. Number one their reactors have weapons grade uranium. There are serious non-proliferation problems giving Taiwan anything with bomb grade uranium in it. Second, the reactors in those subs are not designed to be refueled. The core is designed to last the life of the sub and then be disposed of when the sub is cut up for decommissioning. By the time they are retired there is no core life left and because of how those hulls are made, cutting them open to replace the reactor is prohibitively expensive. Taiwan's own indigenous sub is the answer. Taiwan doesn't need nuclear propulsion to allow their subs to cross the Pacific at high speed submerged to get to the combat theater. They are the combat theater. They need subs that can loiter silently in a crowded noisy seaway and find enemy ships to sink. There is no need for their subs to be nuclear. It gives them no advantage. The same is true of the JMSDF btw. If anything Taiwan would benefit from the very best new Japanese sub design.

It is time Taiwan returned the favor and sent a few waves of military aircraft unannounced into the Chinese (ADIZ) and see how they like it having to scramble planes to investigate.

China gets it jollies by intimidating others with it's newly made military power. The CCP are criminals.

Fake headline and fake news at most. At least it’s misinformation. Good ole MSM can be depended on for their war baby rattles.

I wonder how they want to get also all that military crap CO2 neutral in some years. lol

There is international airspace,China is practicing freedom of navigationin the air!

The so called ADZ is one side declared! I repeat: International Airspace!

BTW the Taiwanese scrambling is welcome, their F16 jets will worn out as the attrition presist!

39 it was, reported today on midday Japan news services. Apparently Chinese jets have a short shelf life...

Escalation by China, again.

I do not really want to use this word 'escalation', but however you cut this cake, apart from 'ratchet up' the tensions, I cannot find another suitable word or phrase.
