just-a-biggie: The American and other western oil companies were team up with Vietnam and the Philiipines STEALING China's oil in the south China sea

hehe, cool. So the US, Vietnam, and the Philippines are stealing Chinese oil and the Chinese are bending over and taking it up the rear. Not quite the "mighty China" you like to present, is it?

" China always exercises restraint and insists on diplomatic solutions to the disputes." Haha, it should be instead : "China always exercises bullying and insists on military threats to neighboring countries." This Global Times posts as usual pretty words to hid China's ugly face!

Chinese apologists, propagnda and lies. They sure work hard to influence the public opinions.

America’s interests there... The American and other western oil companies were team up with Vietnam and the Philiipines STEALING China's oil in the south China sea, those western countries eaten the bigger chunk of benefits and sparing debris for locals' collaboration of a dirty looting campaign, that is the definition of "America's interests there! There was nothing is just but greeds from western oil compaines' oil stealing attempt! And Mrs Clinton is the workhorse of thefting!

You are one of the few misinformed fellows who are crazy to think that the USA is mainly or solely after the oil resources.

For the past decade, more than 50% of US Oil imports came from the continental America (Canada, Mexico and several south-American and Caribbean countries. Actually 11 to 12% of the total USA oil imports are coming from the country who loves the USA the most,... the honorable HUGO CHAVEZ, the leader with verbal diarrhea regarding US Imperialism but it is the USA who is buying majority if its oil. Other sources are from northern Europe and Nigeria.

The middle-east, which many believe is the reason why the US meddling on the oil-rich region, comprises of only 16% of the total oil import. The middle east exporter of oil are Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE etc, giant producers yet they only contribute to the USA 16% requirements.

( I will stop explaining more on this topic because this is already OFF the topic).

China is the master of deception and lies.

It is not the Philippines, Vietnam and Taiwan who are getting aggressive. It is them who are crazy to implement the ravenous and gluttonous claim of the whole South China Sea as their own. All the countries surrounding the south China Sea should have only about 12 miles from their shores as territory and everything must be owned by China on the basis of ancient map (9-dash-line).

No ever country, even the poorest one will ever accept that the whole South China Sea belongs to China base on the old map.

The maps are navigational reference just like the ancient Greeks, Romans, Anglo-Saxons etc possessed.

China was keep on telling the Philippines that it is patrolling the South China Sea using warship (painted GRAY) but 10 days ago, Chinese FRIGATE ran aground a shoal just 35 miles from the Palawan, Philippines. The Frigate was just floated and rescued by Chinese Navy without informing the Philippine government.

China is very well known for duplicity. Their feet and arms are doing the reverse of what their mouth (with verbal diarrhea) is saying. The word UNDISPUTED SINCE ANCIENT TIME run over and over again. The whole South China Sea was never in control or under administration of the Chinese (HANS CHINESE) since ancient time or even the time of KUBLAI KHAN.

Last month, when four Indian naval ships left the Philippines earlier this month headed for South Korea, they received an unexpected message.

Welcome to the South China Sea, Foxtrot-47, buzzed a People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) frigate to the INS Shivalik (F47).

For the next 12 hours, the Chinese warship would provide an unscheduled escort to the four Indian vessels. The PLAN frigate was aware that the four ships were also going to visit Shanghai later in the month during their month-long tour; yet that they insisted on providing an escort through what India and other countries view as international waters underscored for officials how Beijing increasingly views one of the world's most important waterways.

The tone of the message was welcoming, but was also as though we were entering Chinese waters, said an official who did not want to be named. The Chinese ship left the Shivalik's side after 12 hours, revealing that it had been instructed to move away by the PLAN.

Italy would have more claim about the whole Mediterranean Sea than China does the South China Sea since at least historically the Roman Empire covered the Mediterranean Sea all around; yet everybody knows it'd be preposterous for Italy to claim the Mediterranean Sea, so just imagine how much more preposterous China's position is.

China has to learn the intricacies of international diplomacy is very much different from the sledgehammer politics it uses to bludgeon its internal population for control. International diplomacy is a more complex game with players it has no control over that China has to learn to better play.

The Secretary Clinton will spend merely a few more months in office, hence China does not need to be over-excited about what she lectures. 2013 is another year with a new team. Same for China.

Clinton called to resolve the disputes “without coercion, without intimidation, without threats without the use of force.”

Certainly this is not the truth, teh United States has followed the British empire carrying out 'gunboat policy' by doing all the things she claimed in the last 100 years with the use of her navy! What did their military presences in China's river when Japanese bombardment Chinese civilians in the sino-Japanese war late 1930s: NOTHING!! The people of China and her government have had enough this presistence pirates in our door steps enough, we dont want our children to suffer anymore, it's time to tell them :GO!

Guys, territory dispute has nothing to do with "human right" or "communist". Does japan has dispute with Sough Korea? Yes you do. Communist or not, Chinese will fight to get what belongs to them back. Actually if not because of "communist" govt, Chinese will go to the street every day to demonstrate against those countries who has grabbed Chinese territories and burn a few facilities that belong to those countries for sure. You guys do not know how Chinese feel about japan and usa. USA is a big hypocrite and japan is just its little brother. That usa old lady is just a big hypocrite. In China she has a very bad name and nobody respect her. Chinese will be just like your japanese to fight for your territory, nothing less nothing more. Please do not bring "human right" issue here and use it as a tool against China in every case. It does not work. On the territory issue, Chinese always behaved no different from other country's people - for their nation, not for the govt.

I hope we can “preserve our security, and existence, trusting in the justice and faith of the peace-loving peoples of the world. “(Japanese constitution) What happened to those peace-loving Chinese people we can count on?

China state media accuses Clinton of 'meddling'

The headline says it well, that is what the U.S. is best at.

I know this is about a serious issue and I do hope it comes out best Japan and the rest of the free world.

Then like I said, they have a lot to learn, and until they do, they are going to have a lot of headaches.

I know any comment which doesn't tear the back out of China gets a thumbs down but I was trying to give the Chinese perspective on this. I have spent quite a lot of time in China and whenever I have brought up the subject of China's aggressive territorial claims, they reply that they are reclaiming what they believe is rightfully theirs - not destroying pharmaceutical factories on another continent or bombing Iraqis in an illegal war. I am not an apologist for China, particularly in terms of human rights issues, but US lecturing on the peaceful settlement of disputes makes the Chinese either roar with laughter or give something equivalent to 'yeah, whatever'.

Clinton merely scratching the surface of what the world community concerns about China aggression. There is not much credibility to the mouthpiece of communist China. One day, Chinese might realize that living with limited freedom on most basic human rights under the spell of communism is not what Confucius wanted. Under the banner of nationalism, most Chinese satisfy with their daily bread (or moo goo gai pan...) thus not getting enough basic rights, mentally and spiritually as most nations; and that is a shame. Once again, with Chinese it will take longer than ancient history and longer than South China sea to awakening the real human values. For now, enjoy more Chinese buns.....

Jimizo: China regards America as a declining power and US opinion means less and less in Beijing. While I agree with Clinton's statement, Chinese public opinion wants to see a foreign policy which reflects its economic power. Chidings from the US are seen as hypocritical and meddlesome.

China can think whatever they want, but until they learn the value of strategic partners and bridge building with neighbors issues like this will never go away. They should spend more time thinking about that.

We always get statements from the US and China but I'd be interested in getting the statements from the other countries as well.

"Xinhua said in a commentary: “Though wary of overtly irking China, Clinton further meddled in the South China Sea issue by repeatedly highlighting America’s interests there and openly supporting individual ASEAN members’ scheme to complicate the maritime dispute.”

Translation: Don't intefere with our bullying of these puny countries.

China accuses Japan of being an aggresor 70 years ago constantly and at the same time does exactly the same thing today. Who do they think they're kidding?

Will China ever learn?

It's about time Clinton took a stance on this. Just another time I I hold her in respect...
