Yeah so it can stand over the weaker nations without worrying about the big brother, china just wants to bully these places and not have to worry about looking over its shoulder.
China cannot be left to walk rough shod over everyone or just take what it wants, it needs to be kept in check and held accountable.
There needs to be a United Asian group of countries and interested parties to restrain china or suffer the consequences of a greedy self centered out of control bully.

Fat chance. China may try to bully some of the countries in SE Asia, but so long as China has just one "used" aircraft carrier, and its blue-water navy is no match for America's, this is pure blustering. But, it would appear the strengthened ties between the U.S. and Japan, Australia and the Philippines is getting under China's skin. Good.

"Irrefutable" because they've started printing maps that say so? And of course, being the good commies they are, they think that if they repeat it enough times, we'll start believing it...At least we've been spared the insults on our ancestors, unlike the Australians.

If I'm on the board of directors for any multinational with production in China, about now is when I start looking for anywhere but China to produce my products. I wouldn't wait another day to get started.
This is eventually going to erupt, and I wouldn't want to be stuck on my heels in China when Beijing grows even more belligerent.

we're bigger than you
Ming Dynasty sailors were here, so it's ours!

Meanwhile, the entire PRC Chinese middle class, or anyone with any money is trying to emigrate and buy real estate overseas to escape pollution, political instability and other worries in China. This must be a real brain drain on the PRC. Or it certainly seems so observing the doubtful quality of PRC media announcements and diplomatic initiatives.

I am afraid this may lead us into the WW3.
As you know China has a territorial claim in the Arctic where it is not physically even close to the Arctic. Too aggressive and the " Sleeping Tiger" needs to be contained.

ok, we'll stay out and just sell them arms so they can defend themselves properly...

You missed one.
Google "Vietnam Philippines".
I particularly like this link. (Humour truly is universal)

Well played, gents. You both won that round.

Who empowered China? Global cooperations? Global consumers of Chinese produced goods? Now, we have a growing monster. Tienanmen Square turned me off decades ago. Look at country of origin when you purchase goods. We do have options and they are growing. Been doing it for years with 80-90% success here in USA.

Spot on. Uber Capitalism turns a blind eye when it comes to profiting from the cheap labor a totalitarian 'Communist' regime provides.
When the bottom line is that there is no bottom line when it comes to making profits this what you get.

It wasn't just western corporate greed alone that created this Frankenstein monster. We actually believed that helping Communist China get off their economic knees and improving the lifestyle of the average Chinese would lead to the creation of a large middle class, and that in turn wuld cause the CCP government to become more liberal in it's views and start accepting "some" democratic ideals, improve individual and human rights, become a better country. Guess what? We got flooked.
presto345
This is a total foreign concept that eludes the Chinese.
CruisinJapan
Exactly, Ossan. Apparently no one in the past expected Chinese censorship to continue into the 2010's. Furthermore, I don't thin anyone thought China would even go so far as to block conversations between friends if they so much as mention something that challenges the Communist Party in a text message.
