Trump campaigned on bringing manufacturing industries back from China, and reduce the dependency on supply chains. Which is what he is doing

wrong US manufacturing has continued to decline even under Trump, the facts really do belittle the deniers.

Close all international businesses inside China.

Close all businesses with them outside China.

lol never happen China will have the largest consumer market in the world within 30yrs, very few international companies want to be left out of that, having a factory in China will be essential in keeping labor cheap and avoiding import tariffs. Why do you think Tesla is build a giga factory in China, certainly wont sell those American made Teslas there since the Chinese made ones will be considerably cheaper

International Influence for both of the US and China is going down if they keep doing this sort of game, obviously not many countries want to side with each one because they want to keep living normally!

I almost didn’t notice that you refuse to address the hypocrisy of trumps companies using China for their manufacturing in the midst of his trade war with China.

There is no hypocrisy there. Trump campaigned on bringing manufacturing industries back from China, and reduce the dependency on supply chains. Which is what he is doing. Reducing this to the "find" of some stupid MAGA hats and assorted trinkets which his organization sells is really kindergarten level talk.

This show is getting exciting!

Unless the WH and President Trump himself personally attacks Chairman Xi with the same ferocity they insulted Dr. Fauci then me thinks this latest charade is purely for da-kine electioneering only.

The problem is China it seems is no longer playin along .

Beijing must have felt that Mikey Pompeo have abused their subtle agreement and crossed the line.

If there is further heat and escalation then Pompeo's job will soon belong to Kayleigh McEnany!

Yeah thats really great getting your news from Jimmy Kimmel. forgot to mention this was in 2018.

Two years after trump became president, in the middle of his trade war with China.

No disgusting hyper-partisan hypocrisy here. Carry on.

Ones that report what has happened as news. not speculate what may. thats called opinion.

So you don’t watch Fox or OAN or read Brietbart? Yeah right.

There are literally zero right wing media that fit your above description. None. Zero. Nada.

Sorry (not sorry) to not buy your propaganda.

Which of your preferred news sources deals in absolute facts only?

So, answer the question?

except thats not what was said. You can in fact buy these things, as was proven. so dont stop believin'

I'll believe this is real when I can go to Trumpstore.com and buy a tie, shirt, or trinket that says "Made in the USA"

Yeah thats really great getting your news from Jimmy Kimmel. forgot to mention this was in 2018.

I only pointed out (once again) that Trumps souvenir shop is not a major industry or relevant for anybody. Sheesh.

But it is.

The President shouldn’t be a hypocrite.

The President shouldn’t be using his/her position for private profit.

The extent and finances of the current President’s ‘industry’ are hidden.

Trump is laughing at all of you - while you buy is Chinese-made goods...

I do not buy any trinkets from the Trump store. If you do, that is your problem.

I only pointed out (once again) that Trumps souvenir shop is not a major industry or relevant for anybody. Sheesh.

trump is all about ‘may’. Have you been following at all?

He threatens and puffs up a lot but always gets slapped down by the law. The lastest in a long line is he ‘may’ veto the defense bill. But we all know he won’t.

I don’t watch or read CNN. But as far as I’m aware they don’t have a crystal ball. Which of your preferred news sources deals in absolute facts only?

How long would it take me to search their database and find a ‘may’ headline?

I don’t see your point here.

If the US government wanted to decouple so badly, just simply cut all ties closes all consulate and embassy.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Trump may have "motives" in closing the embassy.

Beijing may defy the order to vacate the consulate.

China may retaliate.

US tech giants may struggle as tensions escalate

US companies may buy TikTok to help them avoid the ban.

China may have misplayed its hand by choosing to escalate in closing Chengdu rather Wuhan, as had been expected, especially if this leads to further escalation from the US.

The US' Wuhan consulate has been effectively shut for months due to the coronavirus pandemic, its formal closure therefore would have had no real operational impact and may have allowed tensions to temporarily cool.

All from front page CNN. Notice any pattern?

Perfect!

You are welcome

https://www.trumpstore.com/collections/collections-made-in-america

For what - that's only 20% of all the merchandise on there - all the other stuff is made overseas - you really fell for the scam...

'll believe this is real when I can go to Trumpstore.com and buy a tie, shirt, or trinket that says "Made in the USA" instead of "Made In China"...

You and another poster have been going on forever about an NBC article that found some of the trinkets in Trumps souvenir shop are made in China (and Indonesia, and Vietnam, etc.). Do you ever take a step back to realize what a ridiculous accusation that is? Trumps trinkets are hardly a major industry, and if you think he is micromanaging every procurement decision on his webshop you are phantasizing. And whatever tarrifs apply to Chinese imports apply to his hats or keyholders too, and are passed on to you, if you want to buy a Trump hat.

And you and all the other Trump supporters can't admit you are being played;

Late night television host Jimmy Kimmel went on a shopping spree on the official TrumpStore.com, and found a slew of products made in other countries.

*A white golf hat was made in China, while a Trump mug was made in Thailand. A shoe bag and duffel bag were made in China. A toddler bib he ordered was made in Peru. A Trump collector medallion was made in China. Kimmel also said that two products he ordered — a pet bandanna and a gold block — did not have a country of origin listed on the product or its materials, something that is illegal.

Trump is laughing at all of you - while you buy is Chinese-made goods...

The USA must act proactively and close all its consulates, just keep the Embassy. Then order all remaining Chinese consulates to close in the US.

like this the US keeps control and its a double whammy for China, no more US citizens going to China as No visa and the Chinese can not get a hold of visas to Governor the USA.

Yeah I mean if the guy is actually doing every thing these people claim he is all at the same time, he is a genius at the level we have never seen in our history. He is doing everything while at the same time supposedly doing nothing. some next level stuff.

You know, he is a devious mastermind making Machiavellian schemes while being a complete illiterate idiot,

I'm with Trump on this one. But if this turns out to be just an election stunt I will never extend trust to him again.

"Again?" When have you ever trusted him? I have only seen a constant stream of Trump bashing from you. In the event, stopping the endless relocation of American manufacturing to China was part of his election platform, and he has stuck to it. How many politicians can you think of who actually follow through on election promises?

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Looks like they screwed with the wrong president.

Har! Like the blurb on a chuck norris DVD sleeve and just as believable.

“The current situation in Chinese-U.S. relations is not what China desires to see. The United States is responsible for all this,” the ministry said. “We once again urge the United States to immediately retract its wrong decision and create necessary conditions for bringing the bilateral relationship back on track.

This is typical communist's language, like a copy and paste from 30 years ago from Russia. But anyhow I would suggest to close all Chinese embassies in democratic world. Enough is enough China must realize that there is no space for them in democratic world. China had a chance 30 years ago but completely waste it.

"Dial down the tensions please. It's not in the interest of anyone. There is an African proverb that says "if two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers". The world needs more cooperation not confrontation." Sorry, you're right on the philosophy but we're not dealing with normal people on this one. For every centimeter the US gives the CCP will take a meter.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

I'm with Trump on this one.

I don't see why. The closing of the consulate does hardly anything. It sends a pouty message and only creates just as pouty retaliations from China, which isn't exactly known for its open diplomacy and maturity in dealing with the so called free world.

There are better ways for Trump's administration to counter problems with China than to demand a consulate closing in Houston.

His lack of control of the American government and the many avenues of diplomacy and action are beyond his grasp, brought on by his abrasive and arrogant ways which cause poor communication and relations with areas such as the FBI, the CIA, and pretty much everyone. It adds up to poor ideas and execution of situations with Trump likely saying, 'well, Mike, what can we do?'

Retaliation and back and forths do little to nothing with an inefficiency that only leads to more animosity on both sides, and it'll likely end up harming others with a good deal of collateral damage.

China ordered the United States

I doubt China could order anyone to do anything these days. What a joke.

0 ( +6 / -6 )

China should reverse it's "wrong decision" as it is a tit for tat action, when they have been caught out conducting espionage from the Houston consulate.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

USA should pass laws requiring imported products from China to comply with all USA laws, especially labor laws, then sit back and see how the CCP retaliate, LOL.

If it walks like a con, talks like a con, then it's probably all a con-job....

The dog is wagging it's tail big-time - what have Trump and his business partner Xi cooked up?

Maybe a fake "diplomatic war" to try to divert attention from hundreds of Americans dying of COVID each day?

No problem.

Everyone should leave China.

Close all international businesses inside China.

Close all businesses with them outside China.

Put an entry ban on all mainland China business travelers.

Let them feel that the world has enough of their bullying and about what they did to the world with their Wuhan Virus.

4 ( +13 / -9 )

Good close them all and redirect the tax money

what tax money are you referring too, countries are bleeding money presently, billions of $ in stimulus and welfare bailouts, there is no tax surplus.

Now that they’re CAUGHT trying to find out what has been discovered to combat their world wide Germ Warfare Attack, this is their response.
