China urges U.S. to stop 'unfriendly' recon flights

So make these flights near China but in international airspace friendly.

Typical arrogant, hypocritical Chinese response.

The U.S. military aircraft coming near China's border and carrying out reconnaissance has threatened China's national security

That's only because China has unilaterally expanded it's BORDER to include international airspace, where US flights take place. As said, get used to it China.

Get used to it.... the US Navy! Those interceptions from Chinese fighters were their gunnery practicing without firings! Do not blame on whatsoever of 'Dangerous' or bringing up how close their flying is a harassment, you kicked up the troubles from begin!

There are no troubles so long as the recons are done within international airspace - international airspace allows that

Interceptions are also allowed in international airspace, but should be done in professional and safe manner, for both sides

If one side is allowed to do interceptions in unprofessional and unsafe manner, then the other side is allowed to retaliate to protect their own safety

It is international airspace and if Chinese fighters are a problem, the US aircraft should be escorted by fighters.

So long as it's not illegal to do in international space, there's no military justification to go out there and commit international incidents

Both sides are playing games with people's lives, time to grow up!

Flights in international airspace are legal. Happens every day.

If China could help out with the NK situation, the USA, SK, Philippines, and Japan wouldn't need nearly so many flights in that area.

China's air force said on Saturday that its fighters and bombers conducted "multiple" long-range drills far out at sea this week, including flying near Japan and self-ruled Taiwan, in what it said was a test of its ability to operate over the sea.

In a statement on its official microblog, the air force said its aircraft had flown through both the Miyako Strait — which lies between two southern Japanese islands — and the Bashi Channel that separates Taiwan and the Philippines.

"China's air force over the past week conducted multiple drills far out at sea, with H-6K bombers and many other types of aircraft flying through the Bashi Channel and Miyako Strait, testing actual battle capabilities over the sea," it said.

The exercises were part of routine drills planned for this year, accord with international law and practices and are not aimed at any specific country, the air force added.

Such exercises will continue, it added.

China's Defence Ministry told Japan on Friday to "get used to it" after it flew six warplanes over the Miyako Strait.

Two Chinese fighter jets came  closer at a sensitive distance from US fighter plane on 23 July 2017 in East China Sea.
